Taza - A Lebanese Grill (Downtown Cleveland) Ratings and Reviews
I really feel uncomfortable saying anything negative about a nice local entrepreneur. I will start with the food, which was excellent and authentic Lebanese. This is a super choice for vegetarian. I loved the lamb tartar. The Lebanese wine was great. We had a pretty street view. My issue is the service. This was a very important executive level dinner. Despite my speaking the Taza earlier in the day, the tables were not ready upon arrival. They asked me where I wanted to sit. The restaurant was almost empty. I did not want to make this kind of decision at the door way. I'd never been there. I wanted them to have something nicely set up. It went down hill from there. there.therehadhad to get them
On our very first visit to Cleveland, my wife and I decided to try something different for dinner. I am so glad we found Taza. We can find a burger or pizza anywhere so the Mediterranean cuisine seemed like a good idea. I had read up on the menu before and decided that we would try the Taste of Taza appetizer and then go from there. After we were seated we and the fresh bread was brought to our table, we also ordered the kebabs. Our waitress let us know that the appetizer and kebabs would be plenty of food for the two of us and she was 100 percent correct. Literally everything I tried there was awesome. I think the only thing that my wife passed on was the beef kebabs. The tenderloins they use come out medium well, and she doesn't do anything less than well. No problem for me as I like my steak medium. I couldn't have even guessed what tabouli, schwarma, Kafka, or babagonush was before this meal and I'm so glad that I tried them. Unfortunately we didn't have a refrigerator in our hotel room, we had to leave some food behind, and I think that was my biggest regret. I just couldn't stuff in anymore food!
Please don't be intimidated by trying something new, and give Taza a try. I think you'll be glad you did.
We were in Cleveland for a wedding and finally had a night to ourselves. We chose Taza and were not disappointed. The food was delicious, the staff friendly, portions generous, prices good, and the restaurant itself very attractive. We recommend the hummus in any form.
We will be back!! Picked Taza after seeing all the great reviews. Atmosphere was warm and friendly, but enjoyably quiet. Service was amazing, and the food was yummy. Ordered drinks, appetizerS and meals and the bill was under $50.
Recommend the hummus and potatoes appetizer!!
We had an out of town business associate visit us in Cleveland and felt TAZA was the perfect spot to meet for lunch. It was conveniently located, in walking distance, for all of us. We were a party of four and everyone enjoyed our lunch and the ambiance and will definitely come again in the near future.
The service was absolutely amazing. The restaurant was a little slower but the waitress was so extremely pleasant and attentive the entire visit. The food was good but I believe better at the woodmere location. It was a nice place and we will go back because of the service.
This restaurant has a classic, vintage interior, a great downtown location, friendly helpful service, and outstanding food. Our tabbouleh and baba ghanoush appetizers with fresh, chewy pita bread were enormous and delicious. We all loved our entrees too. My friend's chicken fatteh was scrumptious. My meal was one of the nicest felafel sandwiches I've eaten. Our iced teas and my mint tea were great too.
What a gem. I never thought I could find this kind of food in downtown Cleveland. Lebanese food at its very best. Service was knowledge and friendly. Will definitely go back on my next trip to Cleveland. Last time I had Lebanese food this good was in London.
We have dined at Taza twice and both meals were memorably delicious. The service and the ambience are impeccable and very welcoming and the food is just extraordinary. We celebrated our son's 21st birthday st Taxa and returned with him and his roommates to inaugurate his senior year.
We were in Cleveland for one night while on a road trip and wanted to eat somewhere good after 10 hours on the road. Taza had good reviews and the menu sounded great. We were so happy we chose Taza. We sat outside as the weather was perfect. Claire was our delightful and knowledgeable server. The food was amazing! The baba ganoush was to die for with a subtle smoky flavor. Hummus and spicy hummus both delicious. The falafel was prepared to perfection: crispy on the outside and light and very flavorful on the inside. We live in Boston and I have not found anything nearly this good. The vegetarian feast in the appetizer section could be a meal for two people along with a salad or one other dish; servings are very generous. If I didn't live 10 hours away I would be here frequently!
The garlic spinach was ok but too salty. The Mujadara lentil dish was bland. The Samakeh Tajin salmon was well-prepared but also bland and the sauce didn't have a good flavor. Maybe it's a traditional Lebanese sauce that I'm not used to. The rice served with the salmon was tasty. Maybe we should have stuck with the more traditional shawarma or kabob dishes. The staff was friendly and attentive.
Taza's food was delicious and authentic with plenty of vegan options. My only complaint was the slow almost non-existent service. Our server was very nice, but not able to check on us for refills and took forever to take our order. I'd blame it on the number of customers, but it was a slow night and they had plenty of servers.
I just love this place. Food is delicious and reasonable. The service is warm and friendly but professional; it feels like a more upscale dining experience then the menu prices indicate. This was the first place we ate when we toured colleges for my son 5 years ago, and the last place we ate, his graduation dinner.
