Taylor's Kitchen is a charming, neighborhood restaurant nestled in between Land Park and Curtis Park. Chef Richard Telford's weekly changing menu benefits from his relationship with local farmers and ranchers. One of Sacramento's "best kept culinary secrets", Taylor's is perennially on at or near the top of Zagat's list in food quality. The wine list is always changing features wines hand selected by Master Sommelier candidate, Keith Fergel, formerly of The San Francisco's Fifth Floor and Yountville's The French Laundry.

The food was delicious. I had the rib-eye and my wife had the scallops. The service by Ally was fabulous. She was attentive but not overbearing, honest and entertaining. Love this chef. She's the bomb and has really been a great addition to the restaurant. The best one they've had!!

We were seated early for our 7:45 reservation. We enjoyed excellent service and assistance with choosing wines. Corkage fee of $20 waived on one bottle if you buy one of theirs. Advice for choices tailored to individual tastes, and all food was terrifically prepared and presented.

Attentive servers but not overbearing. They offered great recommendations for wine pairings with our meals. Food was awesome! I got the ribeye and my wife had their special that night, the Buffalo filet. Both were absolutely wonderful. Would definitely go back.

The food, service and ambiance are excellent. It is my new favorite restaurant for special occasions. My only criticism is that it got a bit noisy. It would be better if they were to add carpet -- a pain and an added expense but it's price point suggests it. It's not an eat-and-run kind of place.

Tasty food and a lively atmosphere, although a bit too noisy. The service was excellent, though.

The food was very good and pleasing to the eye although I had to look for the goat cheese in my salad (it was a pastry-piped star on the edge of the plate). They ran out of the special by the time we ordered. :(. Wine list was almost unreadable — tiny font and not a lot of light. Service was good. Dessert was good and artfully presented. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back, I’ll just remember to bring my glasses next time and ask if they still have the special as soon as we sit down!
