Taylor’s Kitchen never disappoints
Food and service are outstanding! The pea soup was delightful and asparagus perfectly cooked. The place is small but not extremely crowded so you feel cozy but not cramped. Our only complaint was the poor acoustics. Voices echoed so much that we couldn’t finish conversations.
Great food, great service, one of our favorites in Sac
We took advantage of the Mother’s Day brunch special in order to check out Taylors. We were impressed with the food quality and presentation! We felt welcome and look forward to another visit for dinner. The menu was inventive, a wide selection of beer and wine and an inviting ambience!
Chef Casey, Keith and the entire staff are amazing. The food preparation and plating is remarkable, they’re artists!
Perfect meals. Absolutely delicious. Not a crumb left on any of the four plates. The halibut was crunchy on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside. The vegetables were small carrots and melt in the mouth baby artichokes. The pork chops were served with interesting sides with some picante flare. As always the bread was terrific. Our meals were are wonderful. The chef is masterful.
Went for Easter brunch. Food, service and ambience were great. They went out of their way to make sure all was fine. Excellent food and we had a wonderful time. Will be back for dinner.
So excellent— food and service impeccable!!!
One of my favorite restaurants in Sacramento with consistently great food and service.
Again, another great dining experience. Knowledgable staff, outstanding preparation and attention to details, delicious!
We've been to this great neighborhood restaurant and have never had a bad meal!! Split a wonderful goat cheese salad with my wife. She had the filet mignon, perfectly done and I had their delicious pork chop. Only improvement I might suggest is a more recognizable wine list.....particularly, by the glass. We usually bring our own bottle. Highly recommend!!
always enjoy taylor's. a great place for meat and fish
Our wonderful neighborhood restaurant. Always good. Always enjoyable.
Myself and 3 others were disappointed in the atmosphere. Specifically we felt the vibe was "stuffy" and unfriendly. Every staff person, (three different people), who approached our table with water, bread, and apps never acknowledged us. Even our main waitress was unfriendly. None of them said "hello" or even smiled. My husband and I frequently eat at upscale restaurants and have never felt that we were not good enough. Taylor's can keep their rude and stuck up attitudes.
Great great food! Out of town dinner partner was supremely impressed! We all love Taylor’s ...always!
Very good food with great service.... we'll be back!
Only our second time dining here but always memorable. We had an outstanding meal with their Rack of Lamb special for the evening. The chef is currently doing a Moroccan theme with subtle Indian hints in a few dishes. The result is stellar. Can’t wait to go back...currently my favorite local restaurant.
My favorite "go to" neighborhood restaurant. The small plates are easy to share and the wine list (even by the glass) is fantastic. Love the small intimate size so it doesn't get noisy.
Great neighborhood find. Love being able to walk to/from . . .
I love Taylor's Kitchen! It's one of my favorite spots in Sac. Food and service are always great!
Outstanding meal! Four good friends dining together. We ordered steak, the pork chop, chicken and the popover. We each thought our meals were excellent. The pork chop was very moist and flavorful. We completed our meal with the tiramisu cheesecake, which was superb!
We always appreciate the excellent service and delicious meals. The attention to the details of preparing, plating and serving each dish makes it feel like a special occasion whenever we dine here. Definitely one of my favorite dinner places to come for dinner.
Great dining with Pliny the Younger!! 🍻
Everything was great! They even went out of their way to get chicken strips for our 2yr old! Just felt the food took a long time to come out for only 3 tables there!
Great food and great service!
We love Taylor’s!
The service, is outstanding and food so creative and tasty,
The desserts are always unique and artfully arranged.
It is hard to order just one of them.
The entire staff at Taylor’s is to be commended. All the work and dedication that goes into making this a dining experience is noted. We are frequent patrons.
Such a gem.
Food was fantastic! Service superb. Just all around great dining experience in a relax atmosphere.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience and will definitely return for more meals. The ambience has a cozy neighborhood feel and the interior design is quite nice. The filet mignon and pork chop were yummy, with tender meat and excellent flavor. The sides were tasty, especially the potatoes au gratin. Wine selections by the glass were very good and we in fact went out the next day to find a bottle of the Chappellet red wine at the local wine shop. It is definitely a restaurant I am highly recommending to my friends and family.
They were ready for us as we arrived and showed us to our table. Very clean comfortable environment. Our Server was friendly, cordial and with good sense of humor. Loved the food. Our reservation was at 5:30 PM so getting there with the TRAFFIC was a bit of an issue.
We will go there again.
For the price, I expected a much higher grade of NY steak, and also better flavor.
Everyone was super friendly and helpful. We got seated right away and they had our table ready when we walked in.
Topnotch!! Slightly expensive, but great for a special occasion.
An outstanding Valentine's Dinner and Service. We are never disappointed having a meal here.
Valentine’s dinner with their prix fixe menu. Blown away by the freshness of their food and richness of the flavors. Despite living close, it was our first time there. Will return again!
Well presented and the food was good. Maybe too many tables next to the door a little breezy and people waiting to be seated standing near our table
I originally learned about Taylor's kitchen through an article about the their sommelier in a Sacramento area food magazine, and the reviews I read were quite glowing.
Wine: The wine selections provided by our waiter were quite good.
Service: The service was good. Prompt but not intrusive.
Ambiance: The look and feel of the dining room is quite nice although we had a table closer to the entrance and there was a noticeable draft when the door opened and closed.
Food: The main reason for my poor review is that our entrees (ducks and filet mignon) were poorly prepared. The duck was a poor, fatty cut and way too tough. I felt like it had been sitting way to long before being delivered to us. The filet mignon was similarly poorly prepared. I ordered medium rare and by the time it was delivered it had lost its tenderness and flavor. I expected much higher quality for the price we paid.
Dessert: The desserts were good, especially the cake.
Excellent as usual! Food delicious and service very good. No complaints.
Good food good service fabulous prices on the wine great meat pasta salad and appetizers
Great food, service, ambiance. Only downside was that it was a bit too cold. Others felt the same way. But place is attractive and the pork chop and lamb dishes superb. Our appetizer, a cheese on a bed of mushrooms and greens, was also delicious.
This is the third time I've had dinner here and each time the food is great, different and exciting. Service is great, very helpful. I had the lamb entrée and it was excellent. Dessert is always a treat also. this time was the vanilla donuts with orange glaze, served with grapefruit sorbet and grapefruit sections. It was very refreshing.
Atmosphere is casual elegance. Wine selection is good, not a large wine list but good quality wines. I would recommend Taylor's kitchen for a date night dinner or small group celebration.
