Excellent experience, very good service, server explained all the meal choices we inquired about! Will return!
Can't believe I have never eaten here before. The room is very nice. The service is professional and not over-bearingly nice. and the food was excellent. Certainly a place to put on the regular list!
yet another vey pleasant evening at Taylor's Kitchen . . .
First visit here, I live close by. Ordered mussels which were good, Brussel sprouts were solid and then I ordered a basic burger medium rare. It came out medium, but I was hungry and didnt send it back plus it took so much time to get it. Seemed like the timing of delivering the food was hard for the server and kitchen. Also, we were seated by the door for the first starter, then asked to be moved because the cold wind during your dinner is not fun. But afterwards the seating was great. Had a res for 7pm and it was packed. Decent, but not outstanding. I know I ordered a basic burger, but I was craving a burger and it was just ok and not cooked perfectly. I would try again, but it's not on the top of the list.
Had to be comped corkage and dessert due to poorly cooked entrees. Lamb and salmon was raw, chicken overcooked. Pretty poor effort.
Lovely atmosphere, superior service and terrific food!
One of our new favorite places for our Friday night date night.
Bummer to see this place go downhill. Absolutely loved this on all previous visits but it’s been a while since I have been there. None of the staff were welcoming or sincere. Genuinely felt like it was rushed and if we asked a question it was a hurry up and answer so they could leave. Dinner was the slowest pace I have seen in a long time and the place was hall full. It was also quite cold. Pains me to write this review. Really wanted this to be a great experience, especially living in the neighborhood.
Wonderful food, great service..... highly recommend!!
Quaint. Friendly. Terrific food and drink.
Great service and very good food. Thanks for making our New Year’s Eve memorable 🌹🍾
Love to watch Taylor's continue to evolve and look forward to the new chef tweaking the menu a bit over the next few weeks. Service and sommelier recommendations are always top notch. The food was good, but the combination on the chateaubriand special was far too sweet for our taste; hence our first 4 star rather than 5 star rating. While the meat was superb, the execution of the plates needs a bit of work.
We have been here before and quit going due to the quality of the cooking. We decided to try again once we heard they had a new chef. In a party of four two people didn’t live their food. Our waitress Alie didn’t smile once. She brought our food efficiently and was attentive but seemed like she didn’t want to be there. No charm no smiles no exchange of dialogue except for taking orders.
It took a really long time to get out main entree, server kept apologizing, restaurant was only about half full
Taylor's is such a great gem for people who love good food. We have been so many times and have never been disappointed. They maintain excellent standard dishes, but always manage to keep a rotation of new and delicious seasonal offerings as well. The friendly staff and manageable size make it feel like a warm and familiar place. Great wine list as well! Hope to keep coming here for years to come...
Amazing service, fabulous food, gorgeous environment
Food was so creative and delicious! Service was on point as well!
Taylor's Kitchen has a quiet and refined atmosphere. The service staff is outstanding. They were very knowledgable about the food, wine and all aspects of our meal. In addition, the main waiter for our table was affable and engaging. He was efficient and gave us time to enjoy our time at Taylors. My only comment is that the portions are a bit small for the price, but delicious. We will definitely return to Taylor's for another special occasion.
Food was superbly prepared, very well executed farm to fork meal
Excellent excellent excellent
The food is always good and the service is the best! We love Allison!!
Wagu steak was tasteless. Scallops were under cooked. Pork chops were good. Pecan cheesecake tart was not as expected. Wine choice was the highlight.
The best restaurant around right now... everything from the service, wines and food... we can’t wait to come back
We had never been here before. Great food and professional staff. Plates were artfully presented. Kitchen was slow the night we were there because their computer system was down.
I’ve been to Taylor’s occasionally over the years and have always enjoyed it. This was a special opportunity to introduce the place to good friends from out of town. The food was delicious – homemade pappardelle (tender with the right chew) with a kale pesto, a roasted squash arugula salad, salmon, berry creme brulee. each dish had different flavors and wonderful textures. Each seemed carefully prepared and presented. Our group of three had a number of food restrictions and preferences, and the server and kitchen handled them graciously. As always I enjoyed the vibe, which is both special and casual.
One critique of the menu: Over time, it’s evolved that an actual majority of dishes on the menu have bacon or pork. The kitchen is gracious about deleting ingredients and accommodating food needs, but this does seem somewhat imbalanced on a small menu. Nonetheless, I very much welcome my next visit.
One of the best restaurants in Sacramento. Farm to fork, great and reasonable wine list, impeccable service in a quiet neighborhood atmosphere. Their ingredients come from the butcher shop next door and are always fresh and amazing.
Yet another very pleasant meal at Taylor's. Our favorite Sac restaurant . . .
Awesome food and excellent customer service.
Taylor’s Kitchen has been a favorite for some time but our last visit was a disappointment. Both entrees we ordered were off. The chicken dish was dry and the suckling pig, while tasty, did not have the promised crispy skin. Attention in the preparation seemed a bit lacking that night.
Our special occasion was enhanced by the service, attention to my special request for a round table, and the gracious host.
Been here several times in the past
Food was just ok this time
Steak was cold and flavorless
We saw several items get sent back for being under cooked
We always enjoy dining at Taylors. The service is always excellent. They are going through a transition in the kitchen and I think it affected both the pacing of our meal and the plating. We will definitely return because they have always maintained a very high standard for both their service and their meals
Taylor's is our go to place for dinner. It is consistently excellent. The usual staff are always friendly and efficient. Food variety is creative always using what us seasonal. Overall just wonderful.
I’ve eaten here before and always thought their food was outstanding however I was a bit disappointed in the salad and vegetarian “cakes” which seemed a bit dry. Good experience though because we ran into friends
Appreciated a vegetarian option. Would recommend having one sauce instead of two for that dish. My wife had the rissoto requested w/out bacon. Was ok but she thought it was a bit gummy.
We loved the tomato salad and will return just based on that dish.
Our friends LOVED the lamb. Said it was perfect.
Pork loin chop was amazing! Great service. Nice place for a date. So glad they are on Open Table... we’ll be back!
Oh, and Pliny the Elder on tap? What an unexpected surprise!!!
Chef is top knotch. Such great, flavorful and perfectly cooked.
Excellent service, wine list, and specials as always.
The food and wine were excellent. We really enjoyed our meal and the place is lovely.
