Exelente pasta hecha en casa
On other occasions the butternut squash ravioli was much better(not that it was bad this time, simply just good rather than excellent... salt was very high and ravioli could have had more squash)...
The filet with mushrooms was very good (and the side of asparagus with speck was the star of this plate)....
The sausage pasta was by far the best dish of the night...
The service was EXCELLENT despite the fact that it was a very busy Friday night...
We have been here many times. Consistent is the byword here. The only surprise is the good news that the quality never varies.
Overall restaurant experience was good , server was attentive and professional . The kitchen very slow considering evening rush was over portions were good, bread outstanding . 1/2 hour between appetizers and main course much then indicated.
A great lunch spot with excellent food. The soup of the day was wonderful.
The grilled branzino was excellent! We always enjoy our meals at Tavolino and the service is always outstanding!
Fascinating wine list with selections from Italy difficult to find even in Italy.
Beverage manager has a keen sense for creative ingredients for cocktails too. Nice list of cordials, amari, Liqueurs.
All the dishes I had were excellently prepared in true Italian traditions with quality ingredients.
The Good and the Bad...Antipasto was huge with a lot of meats, not many vegetables. Lasagna was delicious, Ravioli special was dry - ask for extra sauce. Calamari in the Cioppino was inedible it was so tough - we left it all in the bowl and told the server. We were very surprised that there was no acknowledgement of our comment or a question as to why we had left all the calamari behind. No manager stopped by and no adjustment was made on the bill. Expensive dish for not being perfect! Desserts were excellent.
Would be a perfect restaurant if it weren't so loud. Tables are crammed together and the noise if horrid. The waiters have to repeat themselves regularly because you can't hear them over the roar of patrons. If you want to talk at the table with your friends, be prepared to scream.
This is are last time to come to dinner here. . This was the 3rd visit when we have told the waitress we were in no hurry and she wanted our dinner order before we had finished our first drink and was back while were planning a second drink. We gave up and ordered salad it was there before our wine. We had 6 reservations and walked out at 7:15, hardly a relaxed dinner. I understand turning tables, but not on a Tuesday evening No more chances 3 was the charm
We both had good starter salads, but I had a beet ravioli entree, which was ok, but had no beet flavor, just red color. My wife had tilapia, and the serving was way too large, and she thought it was quite bland. She wished she had ordered the salmon instead, but was afraid it might be over or undercooked, and again, too large at one- half pound.
We had a fabulous evening from the appetizers to the dessert. They have an impressive wine list and diverse menu. The service was superb. It was a delightful in every way.
Deafeningly loud - close to raucous party - but good food and attentive service. Yummy white sangria.
Tavolino continues to excel in all areas. Perhaps the best trained service in Tucson. The menu is varied for different tastes. The home made wood fired bread is enough reason alone to go. And, the Italian wines are excellent. The Pietro Rinaldi Barbara is superb.
Great Italian inspired food. our group had salads followed by main courses to new york strip which was perfectly executed and served with spinach and cannelloni beans, wife had filet wrapped with proseutto, and served with asparagus, mushrooms. A beautiful and tasteful dish. our friend had the lasagne and was delighted. we had nicely prepared cappuccino finish the meal.
Our visit to the restaurant was a belated Valentines evening out. We had a very pleasant evening. Due to the numbers of customers our main dishes were a little slow in coming out but not so much so that a fuss was needed. Our waiter was more concerned than we were and he comped us desert. We would go back in a heartbeat.
Tavolino is my go-to spot for fine Italian dining in the Tucson foothills. Expansive menu with spot on service. Not inexpensive, but well worth it.

Service was slow and our table was located next to very noisy large party. Overall very good food, but less than satisfying dining experience. Will avoid dining here on Saturday evening.
We came in for a late Valentine's Day dinner and we enjoyed every moment. We were very impressed by the wonderful service and delicious food! We sat outside and even though it was cold and rainy, they had a tent over us and a heater by the table so we were plenty comfortable. Thank you, Tavolino, for making another occasion extra special.
The food and wine were excellent. Service was excellent and, especially so, because we had a French-speaking waiter that could make our guests from Paris, France feel comfortable and explain the menu items to them. Terrific!
We did not like the table assigned to us. It was adjacent to the entry door and welcoming podium. Very noisy and very drafty with people coming and going. We felt uncomfortable and could not arrange another table. The reservation was made early, so we should have had a better seating arrangement. Very disappointed with the table location. Otherwise a great dining experience. We will come again but will not accept being seated so close to the entry door. Thanks.
This is one of our favorite restaurants and arguably the best and most authentic Italian dining experience in Tucson. We started with the octopus appetizer, followed by a whole Branzino and a seafood stew. Everything was delicious!
We enjoy a vodka before dinner and this place provides a generous poor, although expect to pay accordingly. There is also a wonderful wine list and great selection by the glass. Jon will help you make a great choice.
Servers are also great and the ambiance is too!
My wife said her fish was good but my lasagna was not remarkable. For an Italian restaurant I was expecting to be really wowed. The small table was close to a drafty window and lacked much elbow room. Good selection of wine and alcoholic drinks but that drove the price up to my budget limit for the occasion. The server was very attentive and always one step ahead of us. I could overlook anything but the expensive tab.
Everything from initial greeting, ambience, menu, wine list, bread, service, quality of food was quite good. Both our entrees, a veal chop and saltimbocca were quite good. We hope to be back, although there are so many restaurant options in this city.
The pasta sauces were thick and almost dried out. A sauce advertised as a light tomato cream sauce should not be dark brown.
A very nice restaurant on the north side of Tucson. We had a party of 6 and all of us enjoyed our meals. Our waiter was attentive, but not overly so. The only thing I ran into was that I had booked the reservation on Open Table. I called the restaurant to see if I could move the reservation to a half hour later, no problem. When we got to the restaurant the hostess was not aware of the later time. No problem seating us, but we were marked as a no show in the system. So just a bit of a communication problem, it didn't impact the quality of service or the food. Just a side note to make sure the hostess is aware it was originally booked on Open Table, change of time, and that we indeed did show up for a good meal!
Always great wine and food
I absolutely love this place. I am of Italian decent, my father was born in Sicily so I am super picky about Italian food. This restaurant is hands down one of best in Tucson. Food great, service great, atmosphere great.

Great food, excellent service - - until the check came. Then we didn't see a server again. They weren't busy at that point so we weren't keeping the waiter from a new table seating, and more water would've been nice!

Tavolino is just the best Italian food in the US. Although in Tucson for four days we had to return to Tavolino twice!
Server was brusque and not friendly. She got the job done but didn’t make me feel welcome. I felt very much in her way, actually. The food was very good. With one drink, a shared appetizer and a pasta dish, the bill was very high - in my opinion. Atmosphere was nice, parking ample and the people who worked around the server to clear the table and in general make sure things were going well, were great.
Traveling to Tucson for some hiking and relaxation. We are vegetarians and were very pleased with the options here. The service was excellent from start to finish and our server was knowledgeable and his timing perfect. Thanks for the wonderful memory from Tucson.
The food was very good. As usual, the restaurant is too noisy for our taste, but we managed.
i have always loved Tavolino. this was supposed to be a special occasion; we asked for a quiet cozy table, and your hostesses stood and had a chat IN FRONT OF US about where to seat us, and then led us to a table in the middle of the room, elbow to elbow with others. we asked to move, and they put us near the door, with reluctance and another conversation in front of us. altogether an UNPLEASANT experience. it very much spoiled the occasion, and i won't count on Tavolino for good service or a good time any longer. the food was, in addition, sub par in my experience. don't go hear for a special occasion; they are uneven, and i can't recommend it. everything about tavolino's on this last experience has shown a steep decline.
