I ordered veal and it didn't reach my expectation and the antipasto was ordinary.

Always a nice dinner at Tavolino. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and our out of town guests enjoyed their meal

Overall the food was passable. However, the soup of the day was textureless and bland based on four tasters. Unfortunately it tasted like overly watered-down canned soup. It was very disappointing. The pink pasta with the red pasta sauce was definitely not visually appealing. The lasagna was uninspiring and bland. Our group was there for Sunday lunch and the wait staff was washing an entire section of booths right next to us. It seemed as though they were trying to hurry us out of the restaurant.

My husband and I went here for the first time on a date. The service was wonderful! The food was not as good as we had expected for the price we paid. It just was bland and lacked any flavor. The restaurant itself was nice and again, the service was great. Just didn’t feel the food was worth the $100 check.

My husband and I were in town for a weekend getaway, and we wanted to enjoy a more sophisticated dining experience than what we generally have. Our experience at Tavolino was very enjoyable. The food, ambience, and service was most appreciated, and I hope we have another opportunity in the future to visit.

Our party of four enjoyed the wine offerings by the glass as well as the selection by the bottle.
The salads were good but Butternut Squash Ravioli and the Bolognese Pasta were outstanding.
We enjoyed their play on crème brulee (custard) as a dessert.

Ours was an "end of the season" dinner with 3 friends. One is vegan and two are flexible vegetarians (no 4-legged things). It was disappointing that although vegetarian options were numerous, there were few vegan items on the menu. The soup sounded promising: spinach lentil but the base was a beef broth so it struck out with all three of us. The "vegetarian" pasta had a cheese based pesto so it was off the list for the vegan. We were a tough group to please. On the plus side: service was low-key. The room was not noisy. Portions were very generous. The bruschetta had 3 large servings - great for the 3 of us to share . It was very tasty (a few capers would have been a nice addition). The spaghetti was good although the other pasta dish was too hard to be al dente. The mussels also were tasty served with beans in the sauce - a bit different. All in all for a quiet dinner out with friends , it was a good choice and did not break the bank. 3.5 stars

The food & service were outstanding. It was a very special occassion & our server Justin was excellent. We invited 3 other couples as our guests & wanted it to be perfect for them & it exceeded our expectations. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Tucson. Thanks.

Music in background was not for an eating audience. Waitress was attentive til one needed her, then she was nowhere to bve found. After 5 min. of waiting had to request aid from a passing waiter.

We came for Easter brunch and couldn’t have been more pleased! The food presentation was amazing and was only surpassed by the taste itself. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the ambiance was lovely—all that you would hope for in a vacation dining experience.

I was really excited to try this restaurant with my granddaughter for our birthdays. We made reservations, which probably wasn't necessary as there were plenty of seats available on a Saturday evening. Unfortunately, we were seated right next to the kitchen area and heard slamming silverware and kitchen noise through our entire meal. Disappointing...especially since there were other tables available throughout the restaurant. There was also a large group on the other side of the restaurant that was very loud. The food wasn't so special that would make me want to go to this restaurant again. On the bright side, the service was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Everyone worked in harmony to make sure we were taken care of.

The eggplant parm. was covered with too much sauce so that I couldn’t taste the eggplant. The sauce was tasty!
One of our guests returned his lasagna due to extra cheese on top- he requested less cheese and it was ignored. He had bolognese instead and did enjoy that.
The restaurant is very expensive and the value is just not there.
My husband enjoyed his osso bucco, another guest enjoyed her lasagna.
50% satisfaction does not measure up.

Had a wonderful dinner. The Coteltta was the size of the plate! The special was Putanesca(spelling) and 3 members of our party enjoyed that although my 1 was on fire from the red pepper flakes. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The waiter has waited on us on prior visits and didn’t disappoint us, very attentive. Tavalino’s is one of my favorites

On other occasions the butternut squash ravioli was much better(not that it was bad this time, simply just good rather than excellent... salt was very high and ravioli could have had more squash)...

The filet with mushrooms was very good (and the side of asparagus with speck was the star of this plate)....

The sausage pasta was by far the best dish of the night...

The service was EXCELLENT despite the fact that it was a very busy Friday night...

Fascinating wine list with selections from Italy difficult to find even in Italy.
Beverage manager has a keen sense for creative ingredients for cocktails too. Nice list of cordials, amari, Liqueurs.
All the dishes I had were excellently prepared in true Italian traditions with quality ingredients.
Highly recommended.

The Good and the Bad...Antipasto was huge with a lot of meats, not many vegetables. Lasagna was delicious, Ravioli special was dry - ask for extra sauce. Calamari in the Cioppino was inedible it was so tough - we left it all in the bowl and told the server. We were very surprised that there was no acknowledgement of our comment or a question as to why we had left all the calamari behind. No manager stopped by and no adjustment was made on the bill. Expensive dish for not being perfect! Desserts were excellent.

Would be a perfect restaurant if it weren't so loud. Tables are crammed together and the noise if horrid. The waiters have to repeat themselves regularly because you can't hear them over the roar of patrons. If you want to talk at the table with your friends, be prepared to scream.

This is are last time to come to dinner here. . This was the 3rd visit when we have told the waitress we were in no hurry and she wanted our dinner order before we had finished our first drink and was back while were planning a second drink. We gave up and ordered salad it was there before our wine. We had 6 reservations and walked out at 7:15, hardly a relaxed dinner. I understand turning tables, but not on a Tuesday evening No more chances 3 was the charm

We both had good starter salads, but I had a beet ravioli entree, which was ok, but had no beet flavor, just red color. My wife had tilapia, and the serving was way too large, and she thought it was quite bland. She wished she had ordered the salmon instead, but was afraid it might be over or undercooked, and again, too large at one- half pound.

Tavolino continues to excel in all areas. Perhaps the best trained service in Tucson. The menu is varied for different tastes. The home made wood fired bread is enough reason alone to go. And, the Italian wines are excellent. The Pietro Rinaldi Barbara is superb.
