Tavolino Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
Tavolino never disappoints. The appetizer of the day was a fabulous bruschetta featuring two of my favourite things, buratta, and pesto. My main was also a special, a wonderful vegetable lasagne. Having just returned from several weeks in Italy I can honestly say that Tavolino’s sauce is as good as the best.
Tavolino continues to be the best combination of authentic, simple yet elegant atmosphere and food. Just the best of the best with fabulous consistency of "favorite menu selections" combines with Chef prepared incredible specials.
And of course the home made wood fired bread and first quality olive oil alone would make the experience worthwhile.
Excellent waitress - attentive but not intrusive. Knew a great deal about the wine. Food was very good - we were in the mood for pasta dishes, so appetizer, salads, and pasta entrees were what we had. Try the Orecchieta (sp??) with sausage. A little salty, but really flavorful, and would order this next time we come here.
Beautiful patio dining (much quieter than indoor dining, though indoors was beautiful), creative cocktails, great service with Brandon, incredible homemade pastas and food, salads, breads.....it was a perfect evening and a great choice. We hadn't been to Tucson for years and our grandson who attends U of A wanted "Italian" and this exceeded everyone's expectations.....it's in a lovely area of town too, well worth a bit of a drive, just a few minutes away from campus area. Loved everything about Tavolino.
I had been to this restaurant before and had a great experience but this visit the service was very slow. I had to ask one of the waitstaff if we had someone assigned to our table after being seated and waiting about 10min to be acknowledged by anyone. It was a busy night but service isn't hard - any one of the multiple servers could have at least acknowledged us and let us know our server would be with us shortly- but none made eye contact as they walked by our table.
The food was really good - definitely the highlight of the experience- the noise level inside is loud - I would ask to sit outside if we're to come back.
It was our anniversary and the host and waiter were very gracious...a complimentary glass of Prosecco. The food was really great!! (only the cheese board app was not perfect). Nice drink and food menu. We plan to return and eat outside to enjoy the evening ambiance. I would recommend to a friend :)
We have been to Tavolino many times and always enjoy it. Our last visit was no exception. We sat on the beautiful patio and enjoyed a very leisurely meal. We did not feel rushed at all. Our server was attentive without hovering or being intrusive. We had delicious food that was cooked perfectly and presented well. It was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be going back. Tavolino is a great place to go for lunch, dinner, happy hour or a special occasion. We like the ambience there and the food is always good.
My wife and I were seated in the private dining room area, which was quieter than the rest of the restaurant. The wait staff was attentive, courteous and very helpful as my wife and I were unfamiliar with Italian wines. Every course was brought to our table with good timing and was absolutely delicious. My wife and I were celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary. The only negative was the underdressed diners. This restaurant is definitely fine dining with white table cloths and an excellent wine menu. The casual dress that included people wearing shorts, pants with holes in the knees (not trendy), extremely casual shirts and flip flops was not what I would anticipate at a restaurant of the quality. Regardless for my wife and me, It was an enjoyable dining experience.
This was my second visit to Tavolino's. The first visit was amazing! The meal was delicious and melted in our mouths. I have raved about Tavolino's to all of my clients and friends.
I couldn't wait to take my Fiance' there for dinner. It is quite the drive from Green Valley but I knew it would be worth it!
We ordered our drinks and took maybe 2 sips and our dinner was there. We were quite shocked as we thought we would take some time with our drink and then eat.
I ordered the OsoBuco as I have previously and my Fiance' ordered Salmon Med-Rare. My dinner was overcooked and dry. My Fiance's Salmon was well cooked - not at all Med-Rare.
I finally had to say something to the waiter and asked for something else. My fiance would not return his and just ate it with just complaining to me.
I realize sometimes things can go a little wrong - but I was very disappointed that both of our meals were not cooked well or up to Tavolino's standards.
Fabulous as always. Their pasta is amazing - fresh ingredients and cooked al dente. My favorite Italian in Tucson. Service is attentive but not overbearing. We arrived a little late for our already late in the night reservation and did not feel rushed at all.
Food was excellent! My husband loved the prosciutto en melon and the mozzarella capresse. Our main entrees we're mouth watering they were great as well, we had the pesto with papardelle and penne boscaoila. Our waiter was great, the waiter who served our food was a bit of a stuffed shirt but I guess it's part of being in a fancy restaurant. It was a date night for my husband and I who just came home from an 8 month deployment and it was a really nice break, a tad noisy in there though. We are definitely going to be back again.
It's always good at Tavolino's - one of the best Italian restaurants in Tucson. Across the board, you can't make a mistake ordering off the menu or the special. The service is always topnotch. Well appointed wine list at the usual restaurant mark-up prices.
