Tasty find. We had a rather late reservation but thought we'd try our chances and luckily , for us, there was cancellation . Tasty food and decent serving sizes. Found the margarita to be too sour for my liking (and I don't have a sweet tooth)

I've been here several times and have yet to be disappointed. Menu is great to order a few things and share. We were slightly disappointed with the dessert, but mostly because they didn't have something that we ourselves were craving. This place is great.

Excellent pasta dishes and attentive staff. It was a chilly evening, and the restaurant could have been a little warmer for comfort.

Two things. Hard seats and zero cushions. Ok being picky but still. 2 with 2 people dining we automatically charged 20% gratuity. I always tip 20% this time I Left cash and didn’t. Don’t assume u get 20% especially when we don’t get welcome bread like everyone else. Food very tasty tho

We absolutely love this place and take all of our out-of-town guests here. The menu is full of good choices, but our particular favorites are the extruded pastas - both the tonnarelli and the spaghetti are really just amazing despite their simplicity - and the grilled hanger steak, which is cooked to perfection and comes with delicious salsa verde. The beef carpaccio and the beets are our favorite appetizers/shareables. The vibe is definitely "urban chic" with exposed concrete and clear incandescent bulbs, but it works well, and the service is always, always good.

We really enjoyed our evening at Tavolata. They have good but not great gluten free options and no gluten free beer or bread. It's a great place in a trendy area of Seattle.

We arrived 10 minutes before the restaurant opened & were greeted at the open door by an unfriendly host who told us & one other couple we would have to wait outside until the official open time. We would have been happy to sit at the bar or stand inside as it was a cool evening. Despite having made our reservation 3 weeks prior we were taken upstairs to a far back corner table next to a speaker blasting loud music not appropriate for nice dining. We ordered pasta dishes (Rigatoni & Spaghetti with Chicken Meatballs) and found the sauce to be salty & bland. The service was minimal. A disappointment to say the least.

Disappointing. Service was very good; food was so-so. Fingerling potatoes with aioli had little aioli and little flavor. Marinated beets were good. Scallops were not good, perhaps too old. Pappardelle was good. Panna cotta was good.

The quality of the food and the options have gone down hill. Also, only having the restaurant week menu available is a bad idea.
Some people may not want that much food. The desserts were all lackluster.

Went to this restaurant based on good reviews but was disappointed by the service, food, drink, and ambiance. Our server had flat personality, cocktails were served half-full, the Buratta was tough to eat with wafer thin crostini, and the Tonarelli I ordered was very dry so only ate half.

The restaurant is noisy but it gives the place a nice energy. The chairs could be more comfortable and the tables more rustic looking considering the limited decor.

My friend had the New York strip steak which tasted phenomenal. They served it sliced on a wood plank which made a nice presentation.

Wish I could give this restaurant a higher rating but the combination of pasta, service, and cocktails were a triple whammy of disappointment.

Tavolata is not your typical Italian red-sauce restaurant. It is an interesting spin on Italian cuisine. Coming from the Northeast, this was an unexpected twist. We enjoyed the food, a little loud, but an active scene with a lot of upside. Spoke with the Exec. Chef, from Minn. with a different approach to Italian cuisine.

We enjoyed the Sangiovese. The beet salad were fine with both of us but more organic green and nuts would be good. The fish of the day cod was a little overdone and too much salt was applied. The chicken also was smothered with salt. It could have been an unusual day in the kitchen. We enjoy ESR's restaurants previously without such findings.

Came here to celebrate my fiance's birthday. Staff were amazing- he even got a signed birthday card from the restaurant, very sweet touch. Everything we had was delicious, the salads, bruschetta, pasta, dessert, and cocktails. I would definitely recommend this place and I'll be back for more pasta. Many thanks to the talented staff for making it special.

The restaurant is very loud and you may have to share a big table with others. The food is delicious and creative and worth the need to speak loudly to be heard. A great choice for a small, boisterous group, but not so much for a romantic date.

This is my first unfavourable written review, and I'll explain why later below. Let's first start off with my findings:

1. The service was lackluster and certainly not worth the mandatory 20% charge (it cannot be removed either)
2. The pasta was EXTREMELY SALTY (4 in total, 2 ordered, 2 remade) and our judgment was backed by two other tables (10+ people in total) who also admitted to us and to the manager-on-duty that ALL of their dishes (including entrees like chicken) was also OVERLY SALTY. An off night perhaps?
3. If you want to email Angela Stowell (CEO) about your poor experience, as suggested on their menu, forget it. It's perhaps the most generic response ever, and definitely shows no compassion and sympathy to make things right.

The reason why I have never written an unfavourable reviews until today is because I understand that nobody is perfect and we all have off days. I am often blessed (and have built many lasting relationships) with owners/managers/ceo's of many restaurant groups that will genuinely want to re-invite me back for a proper "experience" visit. From there, I realized my unfavourable visit was an one-off. Unfortunately, with Angela's response I am confident that the restaurant group does not care about its customers.

While I believed the night in which we received our SALTY food was a rare occurrence (based on the abundance of positive reviews here), I strongly advise those who want to choose a restaurant with CONFIDENCE that they will "make it right for you" to think twice about visiting this restaurant, and the Ethan Stowell group.

If you do choose to visit after reading this review, I genuinely wish you have a phenomenal experience here :) Cheers!

My wife and I frequent this place. We have since moving downtown. Tavolata has one of the best Happy Hours in Belltown. If you love Italian food and good quality wine, you cannot go wrong with this place. Note...Happy Hour only occurs in the bar and out on the patio. We send all of our friends who ask where to eat when visiting the city there. Everyone of them loved it.
