Tavola Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The service was abysmal. Our server was miserable and unhappy. She was not welcoming whatsoever.
The salmon was not fresh and the chicken was tough. The chef was unable to prepare the filet dish medium rare. When we told management there was no apology or real effort to rectify anything.
This place is fine for bar food and nothing more. Terribly disappointed.
We usually come for the Sunday brunch and Thanksgiving buffet. This year we did the Christmas Eve/Sunday buffet. Always, always, always on point. As part of the Springfield CC, my husband & I held our 25th Anniversary celebration there...that was in 2008. TEN YEARS LATER, my guests are STILL talking about the food. ..especially the crabcakes. Tavola's is AOK in my book!!!
There were four of us on a Sunday afternoon. We were told all four either had to have brunch or lunch. We wanted to have the option but were told this was not possible. Why are we not allowed this option?
Will not recommend this restaurant precisely because of their lack of customer options.
We had planned lunch with friends in the dining room, but unfortunately, the country club was doing construction right outside the restaurant (think jackhammers). Normally the dining room is quiet. The noise level would not allow a quiet lunch so we ate outside on the terrace. I was afraid it would be chilly but they had enough heaters to keep the area warm. The food and service were great. Even though we couldn't eat in the cozy ambiance of the dining room, we still had a very enjoyable time.
Very pleased with this our first visit to Travola. Menu was full of variety & easy to understand, service was friendly and most pleasant. Our group of four ordered four different lunches, all were pleased with the quality of food in addition to portion size and presentation.
We will return to Travola soon !
Went to “brunch with Santa”, which we were looking forward to for weeks. Santa left early without notice while we were eating and my children never had the chance to see him. Management were unapologetic and rude when we expressed our disappointment. A staff member told us that they were having trouble with the “new Santa” this year. Absolute waste of money. We will not be continuing this holiday tradition nor returning to Tavola!
The manager was great, we had made a reservation for the family style dining, when we got there we found out they no longer offered the special. We we're disappointed and annoyed we were never told but the manager immediately offered to talk with the chef and they honored the family dining special. The food was good, except the fried eggplant, that was uneatable, but everything else was very good!
We ordered the Italian Night special. The portions were large but the food was unexceptional.
There was a plate of cold cuts and cheese. It was OK but there wasn't much there I couldn't have gotten in my local supermarket.
There was a salad of limp lettuce and too much onion.
The pasta had a conventional tomato sauce, again nothing I couldn't have gotten by buying sauce at the supermarket. The sausage was slightly burnt but otherwise acceptable. The meatballs were uninteresting.
The dessert of cannoli was very good. It and the coffee, were the high point of the meal.
We had a sangria to drink. The big chunks of fruit hanging out on the glass were OK but I would have preferred the fruit to have been cut up and put in the drink.
The service and ambience were good. Our waitress was attentive and polite.
My friend who lives in Springfield recommended Tavola. We were never so disappointed in a place that friends recommended. We placed our order and the waitress Kristin never once stopped back to see if we needed refills or more bread. After over an hour we finally asked someone if they knew when out food would be ready. Kristin came over to our table said she check came back and said they lost the ticket what angered us more than anything she thought it was funny and said it was bad luck we did not appreciate her being so insensitive . A few minutes later our food came out and it was cold she said do you want me to take it back and warm it she did and when it came out it still was cold by this point we were like forget just chalk it up to a bad meal, bad restaurant and horrible service as you were not even busy Saturday night.
Kristen asked us what did we want her to do for us , imagine a waitress asking the customer instead making it right. She took our soup off the bill big if your restaurant and said sorry. We watched people who came after us get served and leave . I have eaten in many establishments I have never been treated so badly. I wonder if it were Kristins night out or you as the mangers night out would want be treated this way. I will never recommend your establishment .
