Menu needs updating. Food is just okay. This place could be a gold mine if food were better
The chicken was dry, steak wasn’t tender, had to wait to place dinner order. Had to ask to bring out bread and plates . Good for drinks and appetizers! Like the atmosphere in the warm weather where you can sit outside .
We didn’t like that the table that we reserved far in advance was located next to the cold entrance, so we opted for one of the high tops in the bar area. After that minor annoyance, it was a pleasurable experience. The food was excellent!
Portion sizes are nice, food taste good, ambience was nice. A little pricey but still good!
We had eaten here once prior a few years ago for Valentine's day and it was a great experience. My good friend and wife were visiting so we wanted to take them someplace local for the occasion. Our server was very nice and we ordered the 125$ valentines couple special. This is was a big mistake as almost everything that came with the meal felt as though it was just warmed up from something that was prepared the day before or was from frozen. The strawberry salad tasted as the fruit had been in the freezer for weeks, the steak we ask at medium came out well done. We arent picky and we rarely complain but the price and the quality of food that was served we both felt we should leave this review. She became I'll that same night and was still not feeling well today. She only starting feeling sick after she had the salad and it got only worse from there. Again the server was very nice and is not to blame this was just frozen or prepped food from the week that was warmed up, that was passed off as something fresh for a high dollar price
Our brunch at Tavolas was wonderful. Our waiter was very professional and very attentive. The food was beyond good! Hope to be back soon.
Very extensive and varied lunch menu. The portions are on the large size. The crab cake sliders (3) are excellent.
Very nice atmosphere and the food is very good. However, a little too pricey on food and drinks. Shrimp and grits for $26 is a way overpriced for a dish that costs about $6.00 everywhere else outside of downtown Phila. The music was excellent and friendly staff made the dining experience a pleasant evening.
Love Tavola’s, never feel like they are rushing you out the door. Brunch on Sunday is excellent.
Always a great place to drink and eat. Joy is a great bartender who makes you feel at home.
Great food but very pricey. Good for a date night or friends get-together, not for kids.
Everything was fresh and tasty.A very good value in addition
Went for my birthday dinner. Food was good. Atmosphere was energetic. Hospitality staff was very nice and courteous.
Overall nice clean place, tasteful menu and decor. Attentive staff. Was there Monday night and was quiet, I’m sure it gets busy during nice weather and weekends. Large portions of tasty food for good price. Would definitely go again and recommend to others.
I used to go to Tavola for a nice intimate dinner, but haven't been there for some time. I found they had remodeled, where there is now more access to the noise and sightlines to the bar. Also, the doors to the bar deck were opened, with live music (Saturday night). We were seated toward the deck, and this made it very hard to hold a conversation with my date. The service was great, the salmon with rice I ordered was simply ok. I was disappointed in the changes.
We had very poor service - waitress acted like she was serving at a banquet, no requests were followed. Shared salad plopped down with no extra plate. No time to finish salads before entrees plopped down. Noise level from both bar areas ridiculously loud. Very poorly planned remodeling for continuing restaurant business. I feel all they want is lot of people drinking at their bars (inside and outside). My chicken dish only lukewarm.
Our server Christopher was very professional, courteous & friendly.
Second trip to Tavola. Both dinners were very disappointing. We received our appetizer (clams casino) clams were chopped up raw clams. Within 5 minutes of receiving appetizer our entree was served. My husband had a Tough piece of chicken parm, my entree was shrimp and grits. Every forkful of grits came with unbelievable amount of stringy cheddar cheese and uncooked green pepper the size of a quarter. We were offed a complementary dessert , which we turned down . Our evening out was timed at under an hour. Never again!!
Awesome food , good service !
Entree arrived while we were just finishing our soup and appetizer. Much too rushed. Server was awesome!
Food was above average but not hot when served (appetizer cheesesteak egg rolls; entrée crab cakes). Our waiter (Michael) was excellent; he was personable and didn't try to rush us.
Great place for quiet dinner or lively atmosphere in sports bar. Food is top notch and waitstaff is very attentive and knowledgeable about the wine and the menu. The design is very attractive and inviting. I live 200 miles away, and when I visit family, I only like to go to Taverna. Always a great experience.
A friend and I had a fantastic experience here. We were greeted graciously by our hostess, Sophie, and our waiter. Between them, the food, and the ambiance, we had a great time! We would definitely come back here again.
One of springfields Crown Jewels of dining. Right up there with Bertuccis. 4 star.
Christmas Eve Lunch
Scallops topped with crab imperial $32 was dried out. Chicken Marsalis was good. Side salad very good. Apple cobbler was doughy not baked enough.
I love Tavola always a positive experience.
The waiter didn't really know what vegan options they had even though their website showed a vegan burger option. That was the only option besides salad for vegans. Food was just average and service from waiter was just average. He didn't seem interested in serving me since I had a limited diet.
Dined at Tavola on Saturday evening after Thanksgiving. Dinner was OK. Started with crab mac & cheese. I asked the waitress if one portion would be enough for our party of 6...she said it was "huge" and would be enough for us. The small bowl came out and we each had about a large tablespoon of the appetizer...which, while good wasn't enough for everyone to really enjoy. The rest of dinner was OK. Mid-way through the meal a table sat down next us and a different server started reading the specials...several of which we would have likely tried, had they been told to us. The meals themselves we good not great. There was a large party around the corner from our table that was drunk and loud. I wouldn't tell people to stay away...could have been just a bad night, but I probably won't return. It wasn't anything special.
Food was mediocre. Ambiance was too bright and did not provide an upscale or romantic environment that I was expecting.
Great time for a birthday celebration. The service was outstanding.
Fun place. Can be romantic or fun with family and friends. Live music often. Always good.
The food was good, but not outstanding. I thought the ambiance was cold. The wait service was outstanding....friendly as well as fast.
Sunday night is quiet but normally it is quite busy and when the weather is night, it is great for outdoor dining!
Good ambiance, but food was avg. I ordered the NY Strip (medium), it was well done. Too chewy and dry. Wife ordered the prime rib burger which was too bland. Server checked on us once during the hour and didn’t even refill water.
As always, good food and a nice place to eat. Only complaint is the doors were open to the outer area, and it was chilly.
Was not impressed with the menu or the service. We were the only people seated in the restaurant @ 5PM, Sunday, October 21st for a birthday dinner for my husband. The outside bar was crowded. First time at this restaurant and the last
The food was priced exorbitantly for what we ordered, no bread was given, the server was not attentive. Ordered an expresso. Was not asked if I wanted a lemon rind. No spoon provided. For the cost of the dinner, I was very disappointed.
Always a great meal! The new decor was also very nice
