Over priced with poor service. The table we sat at was unstable and the wait staff did not try to fix it. The food was poor at best. The humus tastes as though it was our of a supermarket and was overloaded with oil. The blackened tuna was over cooked and had no flavor nor was it blackened at all.
As always, Tavlin is consistently excellent. Nice servers. Thankfully no special Mother's Day menu. We shared a couple of appetizers and the excellent Israeli salad. Shwarma was top notch.
Food was good not outstanding, however service was very slow. Even though it was Mother’s Day the restaurant was not packed; yet it took about an hour to receive our main dishes. Additionally, we had to constantly get the attention of the wait staff for water or the check etc and each time this took more time than most restaurants.
I had lunch with friends at Tavlin about a year ago and we all raved about the food. So when my friend came to visit from Florida (and I know she loves Mediterranean food) I suggested Tavlin and told her about the yummy lunch I had had there.
I felt really bad that I had built it up as being this terrific place that I knew she would enjoy. We were both very disappointed.
Tavlin rocks. While we started on the early end we extended into the dinner hour when it was busy. We enjoyed our shared plate appetizers and everyone's meal from the kid meal to the adult meals were outstanding. Also enjoy the BYOB policy! Cheers!
Tavlin continues to hit all the right notes. With a large group of family members including little children we wanted to be sure we were taken care of properly. We were. Food was excellent and service was excellent. Eric always watches over all with a good eye and a kind hand. Regards.
The food is very good, but the service is poor. It took over an hour for appetizers to arrive and waitstaff was routinely slow to respond.
A kosher restaurant with great food and charming architecture. The live music at night was a huge bonus!
Loved the band.
Food was good but expensive.
Would amd have recommended to a friend.
Eric is a friend and always takes good care of my fiance and me. The service, food and ambiance are a perfect blend.
Family visiting from Israel....and they loved the food...
And the boss...
The food is always great and plentiful. We had four servers come over to take our order. My wife asked what else was in the lentil soup. The sever said, just lentils. We insisted she ask the cook. Someone else, came, not her, someone more junior saying it has lentils, carrots, onions. The older sever was just arrogant and did not know. We asked FIVE times for an extra napkin until we got one. They served dishes and refilled glasses of water reaching over us - just not proper service. There service is always TERRIBLE. I do not get why.
Very fresh and good food. We enjoyed the restaurant very much.
Great food, service needs improvement. Had to return coffee 3 times because the soy milk used was rancid.
It was fine. Nice to have a fancier kosher restaurant than what is usually around. No to convenient to get to.
Tavlin is a terrific Israeli restaurant. The hummus is outstanding and all the kebabs will make you think you're eating in Tel Aviv. Add a little schug if you like things harif. I've never had a bad meal here, but the place can be really noisy. I learned way too much about the gap-year program of the daughter of a man sitting one table over.
Really fresh good food with fair prices. Great service !
Great food and smbisnce
Always excellent. Food is plentiful and tasty. Enjoy the BYOB aspect. Owner and staff are friendly and accommodating
The atmosphere is really wonderful. They don't have a liquor license, so we bring our own wine which is economical. The food, overall is great, but the dishes they don't do well, they don't do well. The fresh tuna never great and the shwarma dry. Other dishes and the hummus are great!
Tavlin also hits it out of the park! Excellent quality. Ample portions. Great owner and good service
Food is very good. Service could be improved. We were 6 people. One of the party had to wait loo long for her main coarse. I think they forgot to include it with the others when 1st ordered.
Everything was fresh and delicious
Delicious food, great service, excellent experience!
Amazing , fresh , homemade , healthy food
It was far from our expectations, too bad.
the place was too cold, my baby granddaughter was shaking
the food was bearable
my old aunt fell and hurt her head because the slippery floor
The pita and chumus were delicious. The service was very slow - even the appetizers didn't come to the table at anywhere near the same time. A steak that we ordered was cooked wrong and then took an even longer time to get a new one. It's a good place to relax and eat chumus and salads- but skip the full dinner experience.
The food was delicious was the portions were very big. However, we had terrible service. Our server was difficult to find and then he threw our pita bread down on the table and seemed very annoyed. In the past we’ve always had a good experience but this dinner, our service was really terrible.
The food is outstanding! I have never had better hummus or "mixed grill," even in Israel. The owner is very friendly.
Have been here before and usually pretty good. We went for my dad's Birthday and service was not great. Ordered and after 25 minutes waitress comes over to tell us how one of the dishes is not available! Waited for a long time for appetizers Dinner and to get the check. Very disappointed and so was my dad.
We went on a Sunday afternoon to have lunch and celebrate our Anniversary. When we were seated a young man came by to give us the menus and within 5 minutes came back for the order. We felt rushed to give the order. When asked about what certain items were, I felt like he was doing us a favor and answering my questions. Food was good. Pita was ok. Nobody came by to refill water glasses. When asked for the bill again felt like they were doing us a favor giving it to us (only 2 people working-a busman and waitress). Had to go up to the counter to pay the bill where everyone else was given their bill and it was taken away and returned with a receipt.
We loved it when we went on a Saturday night, but lunch was not my favorite time.
Great food and very intimate
Excellent experience as always! Service is friendly and accommodating, food is delicious with lots of choices.
This was our first time at Tavlin and it was a fantastic experience. The staff was wonderful and attentive. Though a lot of people were at the restaurant, it was not noisy and the atmosphere was perfect. The food was fantastic from the salmon to the rib eye steak and the hummus bowl to start. It was a real treat to listen to music during dinner-not to loud or too soft. Would definitely go back again and again
Excellent Israeli food. The salads and meats were all great we al enjoyed it.
I had to ask for water 3x and ever got it. We felt ignored.
We went on a Saturday night and the restaurant had a band. The band was ok, but it was so loud that we could neither enjoy the meal or hear our own conversations. The food was quite good, but we will never go back when they have a band.
Thank you for taking good care of our group. We enjoyed our meal.
No words.... Absolutely Incredible
Humus bowls with meat delicious . Chicken and beef dishes good. Shwarma good not great. Nice overall meal. Decent value for a kosher restaurant.
