Staff were wonderful and cuisine was delicious. Definitely recommend.
Yummy and very fresh
food was good as usual. service was quick. manager accommodated our request to seat us (table of 4) in one of the window alcoves. prices do appear to have increased though.
waiter and staff very friendly-
we ordered hummus chickpea felafel kebob pargiot israeli salad shwarma kale salad.
we liked everything but the ground beef kebab. they replaced it with the steak kebab.
the pargiot and kale salad most recommended
All around a wonderful evening out!!!
Somewhat spartan setting for delish, very fresh food. Falafel was among the best I ever had, hummus super creamy, and the rare seared tuna appetizer cooked to perfection.
Not really close to our home but would return..with a bottle of kosher wine!
Excellent. Love having Tavlin in our neighborhood!
Great food. Very Nice staff, but very busy. Could have put something to eat on the table while we waited. Fun place, though.
This was a special simcha to celebrate a marriage, almost one-year old! We arrived early and stayed long! Everyone enjoyed the food and we agreed we would return.
The best felafel and hummus, served beautifully with warm spinach salad. Felafel had a delicious crunchy crust with light, well spiced filling. Hummus was rich and creamy. Had a lovely outdoor table with umbrella for shade.
Authentic and delicious food - served quickly. Busy restaurant with a laid back vibe. Bring your own wine. Good value. Plan to return soon.
The food at Tavlin is always delicious!! It’s always fresh , plentiful and consistently amazing! The owner is so friendly and ensures you are happy when you are there. If you are lucky to eat outside on a beautiful day you may even get to hear some music in the streets!
Highly recommended. Delicious food, excellent service, friendly atmosphere.
Great food and very nice people but sadly it took over an hour to receive the appetizers and main courses all at the same time.
Excellent meal and service in a well managed Covid environment.
Excellent food and ambiance - I recommend you try it
Great Food! Service was good! Too bad about Covid. One of our favorite restaurants!
New dishes are excellent. Top notch all around as usual.
Tavlin never fails. The ambiance is great and the food is always fresh. On weeknights, you can tend to see more groups of adults dining here; on Sundays one can find families with kids of all ages. It’s truly becoming my favorite kosher food establishment in Bergen County.
Great food, great owner, great value. Recommending them to my friends from now on.
Great food. Owners were very hospitable. Ive traveled to Isreal and this was the most authentic Med food, Ive had in NJ. Great place.
Food is good and reasonably priced for a kosher restaurant. Since they do not have a liquor license, I have seen patrons bring in their bottles of wine, kosher of course. Try it but make reservations.
We met friends there and enjoyed the band. The waiters were prompt, the food was good and the music was excellent although it was a little hard to hear our friends talking across the table and we moved to sit side by side to facilitate our conversation. The only slightly negative comment is that we ordered our meals on two separate checks. We ordered light items such as salads and falafel and chum is. Our friends received their food about 7-8 minutes before we were served ours which was slightly awkward. Even though our meals were on two separate tabs we were functioning as one group. Other than that we enjoyed our evening. We go to Tavlin often and recommend it. Their deep dish hot chocolate cake with parve ice cream is absolutely delicious!
Came in at regular day after work dinner with my ladies co workers. Service was quick. BYOB which was a plus! Had Branzino filet with cous cous and hummus to die for! Highly recommended!
Nice restaurant with good food and relatively quiet surroundings.
Food was excellent. we were upset that our friends didn't want to get a chummus plate for the table because the chummus is SOOOO GOOOD!! Next time we're ordering one anyway! A little bit noisy and a little hard to hear at times but manageable. Wouldn't mind the background music a little lower. Already a return trip
Very disappointing after reading all the reviews.
Great place, great food and a nice place to meet. Always.
The food is so fresh and delicious and the prices are so reasonable. Worth a trip.
food was great (every dish we got was great)
food came quickly
room was loud and a little hard to hear but was ok
never once did anyone rush us
we all left saying we have to come back another time
Consistently excellent food preparation and service. Eric oversees the restaurant Welland pitches in during busy times. We eat here often and highly recommend it.
Food always good. Service also, but not this last visit.
Food and environment was Wonderful but a little loud
The food was cold. And we were waiting too much time.....
Terrible...very slow service...noise level unbearable...food less than mediocre
Food was good especially the Mediterranean hummus bowl. Getting served initially was slower than usual.
4 people party; meal came out overcooked; new order not returned before all others finished their meals and side ordered (which was delivered separately was cold. Cancelled the order and did not get to eat meal. There was zero customer care and the owner, aware and involved, made no attempt to handle things in a gracious manner.
Have been there many times but will not return or recommend.
Food is great but service is really hit or miss. Sometimes you have a lovely server and get your food quickly, other times it takes a while. This last time was a disaster. We were there on father’s day. They supposedly were down a cook, but didn’t tell us until 2 hours later. Took forever to just get menus and for someone to take our order. The servers all seemed annoyed that we came there to eat (?!). Then it took almost an hour for some of the appetizers to come. Drinks never came. No one apologized or told us that there was an issue in the kitchen. After waiting almost 2 hours for our food and watching everyone else in the restaurant yelling at the owner and storming out, we realized it was time to leave. My kids were starving and I just needed to go get food elsewhere. The promises of “ten minutes” were everlasting. When I went up to say we were leaving and I’ll just pay for what we had eaten up until that point, the owner seemed annoyed that we were leaving. He didn’t really try to make anything right by us or the other several tables leaving. Just a shame bc we really like the food there but now all those in our party will most definitely not go back. If the owner would have been upfront about the kitchen issues, apologized for the wait and offered some appetizers or drinks, I guarantee all those people would have stayed. Just a really poor example of customer service and ruined a lot of people’s Father’s Day.
We all enjoyed our selections. We especially liked the fact that you could choose your fish entree and then choose the preparation option. They were very flexible about accommodating a request to prepare a side vegetable in a different manner than the standard offering. The staff was excellent, very pleasant.
I would recommend Tavlin for its wonderful ambiance, its Israeli food, and its friendly and intimate setting.
