First of all, nothing terrible about the restaurant. Food was good and if I needed that location for some reason, I wouldn't mind going back again. However, with all of the restaurants in Atlanta, I would not make an effort to return to Tavern Pointe.
Service was not very important there. The hostess and waiter were having a discussion when we walked in and no one stopped to say "hi - i'll be with you in a minute". Very awkward. The bartender took her time getting to us. And the waiter seemed a little annoyed to be working. The restaurant was practically empty and they sat us by the door, so every time it opened up we would get a freezing cold gust of wind.
Too many great restaurants in town to bother going back. But it's perfectly fine if you just need to eat.
The food was decent. The service was below average, maybe they were short staffed because everything seemed rushed but still took a long time.
The restaurant was very nice and so was the food, it was me and my boyfriend’s first time there and our first time out in a long time and the place was lovely.
Ordered the filet and mashed potatoes. I am not kidding when I say I was not served a steak but “meat” patties, frozen broccoli, and premade runny bag mashed potatoes. They sat us at a 6 top table when there were only two of us and plenty of booths even though we asked for one. The starters were quite good but I would not eat here again.
The food was not good and it took forever to come out with the restaurant not even half full. The service was ok. The ambience was really nice but I will not revisit.
The food and cocktails were delicious! The staff was very friendly and accommodating!
Service is slow and gave wrong drink, they close early even on Valentines day which was a friday. Food tasted good.
Valentine’s Day Dinner Date. Amazing meal.. grilled oysters, steak, lobster mac and cheese, red velvet cake for $40!!! Service was wonderful. Food was delicious. Vallet parking a plus!
Not a good idea for the bartender to also tend tables on a Saturday night. Had to ask the hostess for to go boxes and for our check because our server was too busy making drinks.
Totally enjoyed ! Yay
We watched the bartender poor water in one of our glasses of wine when they weren’t even. The food came out fast which was the main upside. Quinoa and avocado salad with salmon was delicious but the cod with potato wedges was not very good. Brussel sprouts were good but only maybe 4 actual Brussels
Very tasty food and excellent service.
No host at the door and despite having a reservation, there was confusion on where to seat us. A lot of the tables were dirty as was the bar area. They seemed short staffed. Our server took our order and presented our check before we even finished eating. We will not go back.
New Years Eve dinner for 10 of us. This place is a great find. Lunch time is busy but dinner can be nice and quiet. Food is wonderful. Service is great. Free valet parking. Great location. Nice patio. We have a fabulous time. Thank you!
This was our second visit to Tavernpointe, and, frankly, we chose it only because it was convenient to the satellite parking for an event the Botanical Gardens. Unlike our first visit, when the food was fine but nothing special, we all agreed that the food was really very good. As other reviewers have noted, they do not seem to be busy at dinner time. We will definately go back when we are looking for lunch or dinner in Midtown.
Great tasting dishes. Will go back for sure.
Great watering hole for lunch with a multitude of choices. The salads were fresh and full of flavor. My colleague’s chicken sandwich looked amazing!
Great location in Midtown and the food came faster than expected. Excellent chicken tortilla soup and outstanding service.
Great salads and sandwiches! Our group enjoyed our lunch and the service was great too!
Its not amazing. Its too overpriced for mediocre food especially the cocktails. Its a nice looking dive bar. Service and ambiance is good. I wouldn't come back.
Know that when you make a "reservation" at Tavern Pointe, it is subject to cancellation if someone buys out the restaurant. I made a masterful plan to eat dinner prior to a show without having to worry about traffic. I would have shown up there and found I couldn't eat dinner, but fortunately I saw the OpenTable email in a junk folder informing me that the restaurant had cancelled my reservation without providing a reason. Thinking it was an error, I called the restaurant. After telling the story two times, I was then told of the buy out, and that I "should have" been called personally to inform me.
It was very quiet on a Wednesday night, which was perfect. Fish and chips were excellent, as were the brussels sprouts. Cocktails were a bit expensive but not out of line for the neighborhood. The bartender greeted us warmly and our server was great. We'll be back.
Stopped here on the way to Cirque Du Soleil. It as pretty quiet and we got served immediately. It's in an office building and likely much busier at lunch time. You pretty much have to valet park. They were out of the days special and the wine we wanted so not a great start but the food we ordered was plentiful and quite yummy. We were pleasantly surprised by the food quality and would definitely come back.
We had a large family group, but still was not as loud as the two tables next to us!
Our waiter did a great job handling tables of four large groups. Calm and patient!
It was very accessible to attend a service at The temple next door. Service was excellent and we were able to be on time
Had the brussel sprout appetizer and stuffed portabello which were yummy.
Nine of us ladies had lunch at Tavernpointe and none of us had ever been there before. Several of the women were visiting from Michigan so we wanted to take them someplace that was special. We were all very happy with the selection! The restaurant is beautiful, our waitress (Maya, I think) provided great service and the food was delicious! We could not have asked for a better experience. They also have a great beer list including a lot of craft beers and a very nice wine list and craft cocktail list as well. Those of us who are local will be back!!!
Good value, service.
What a neighborhood gem!
The service was on point...so friendly and helpful and just plain nice! Our server made our experience better in every way!
The food was so good, we got to go boxes, and ate every bit of our leftovers!
Great birthday dinner. Thank you for the surprise birthday dessert! (And including our 15 year old!).
Food was good to very good but drinks and service were great.
Very nice place, this was the first time I sat inside. It had a nice cozy atmosphere. The wait staff was excellent as always. Food was great, I had the buffalo Cauliflower and calamari and my friend had the fish and chips. Everything was cooked perfectly. This is a nice out of the way place to go to have good drinks and food.
We had an excellent meal-just wanted a quick grab in a very relaxed atmosphere. It was perfect
Great food and atmosphere
Truly enjoyed my evening at Tavernpointe. First time visit. The burger was amazing!! One of the best I've had in Atlanta. The staff did an exceptional job.
We went @7:30. Seemed empty. There was a private party in the back. Our waitress forgot about us. Manager took care of us. Fish tacos and Trio dip very good. Salad was delicious.
Overall. Lack of service was disappointing
The service was really good. The food was fair, nothing exceptional. It was very very loud and hard to hear friends talking that we’re sitting right next to us.
Wait staff fantastic so was food! Would recommend and have to friends.
This place has struggled from the start, despite being in an unbelievably good location. The fish tacos were terrific. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was completely indifferent. She didn’t even bother to make any pretense of smiling. Didn’t surprise me that the place was empty at happy hour. They have some serious management issues that they need to deal with.
