Great food and fun atmosphere!
I was disappointed overall. The apps were good, but the lamb shank came with orzo that was clumpy. Although the restaurant wasn’t that busy, the service was lousy. We sat outside and our waiter “ forgot” about us. I had to continually ask him to refill our drinks, and chased him down to order our entrees. I’ve had better food and service in the past.
Sadly I have to say that this place is not worth the money. I never write a negative review unless I gave enough chances to the place to prove how good it is. I went there twice already and had the same terrible service. Main course came up before appetizers. No drinks were served, and food was not tasting good. Octopus and grouper were tasting bad, they were obviously frozen. Greek salad was not tasting juicy and hearty like the ones you eat in Greek. But we paid about $50 per person for 2 shared frozen appetizers a main course and tap water. Seriously??
Not a great place. Food is so so.
Wait staff lacked knowledge of menu which is the usual for this restaurant. I understand unemployment is at an all time low and it is difficult to get good help, but they still need to be trained properly.
Food was great, large portions
Only exception was the generous portion of roast lamb, the cook was extremely heavenly handed with the salt shaker. He needs to cut back 75%
We’ll continue to return since this is one of the better seafood restaurants that serve whole fish properly prepared.(also not too salty)
The food was great, the service left a lot to be desired. The music was way too loud, we couldn’t hear others at the table.
Service was ok
Food choices were abundant
Very good value for what we ordered...the Opa Salad
Waitress was kind, staff overall attentive. The meal went from pleasant to disappointing when I could taste some kind of cleaner product on the chicken kabobs. It’s nice to know they clean they’re grills tops but more care should be taken
The food was phenomenal everyone in my party loved all of their dishes.
Very nice food, pleasant atmosphere. High quality ingredients!
Great food and service as always.
Loved everything about it!
Ryan our server was so kind, the ambiance was nice we will definitely come back.
Excellent food and drinks
Amazing food and service. Thank you for providing an enjoyable lunch.
Great service and management !
Very nice venue. Drinks were reasonably priced and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Great food as always.
Food portions, especially the saganaki, were minuscule.
Vacation time was made special by visiting Taverna Opa! Food was delicious!!
Disappointed they did away with happy hour at the tables.
Can someone say Tourist Trap! Nothin as advertised, no belly dancers or paper throwing. Manger George is a slimy and unprofessional with not concept of customer service. There so many better sports on Atlantic Ave so def skip this one.
Our server had tables inside & outside so she was spread thin though it was a weeknight & not very busy. Food was decent but I ordered the harvest salad with shrimp it came with 4 medium shrimp & was $25. Even for Delray that was high.
What a great way to spend a Saturday evening! The food was excellent. The kale Greek salad and grilled calamari were fabulous starters. The moussaka was delicious and my husband loved his lamb shank. The service was very good and the ambience, belly dancer and all was fun. Would dine again in a heartbeat.
This was our first time here and we came for Mother’s Day. It was almost 90 degrees and many tables complained that it was very hot. The manger refused to put in air conditioning.
My Dad’s food came 30 minutes before two more dishes arrived and the salad - yes a salad- my sister and I had ordered cake 44 minutes later and we were not even able to eat it as my parents wanted to leave since it was so hot.
The food was delicious but it was not an enjoyable experience.
Many people got up and left as it was truly too hot to
Vegan options were excellent
Good fresh food
I love this place
This was my 2nd time there and like the first time about a year ago, I was not impressed. Service was not great and food was just okay. They need to step up their game if they plan to survive in Delray Beach.
I called the restaurant on Saturday night and asked what time the kitchen was open and was told 11 so I went online and booked a reservation with open table. I am a regular at Opa I know exactly what I wanted to eat and was at a charity event all night so I was starving! My husband and I show up for our reservation to be spoken to by a manager who basically laughed at us and said he doesn’t know why someone would say the kitchen is open till 11 it closes at 10 and doesn’t know why I would be able to make a reservation. This was handled completely wrong and I am extremely disappointed! I have been at Opa past 10 eating also so to be laughed at and treated like we were the crazy ones. Disappointed!
Amazing meal- authentic Greek food. Loved the atmosphere and waiter was super attentive . Absolutely loved!!!!!
Great location for people watching with outstanding food and great atmosphere.
Always a great restaurant for whole fish lovers.
Red snapper or bronzino done perfectly
It’s our go to place in downtown DelRay
We sat outside. Great night. We each had a great meal. Very authentic Greek food.
Poor service while sitting at the bar. Food lousy.
Parking on a Saturday evening on Atlantic Avenue is not easy. We were grateful for the valet service. We arrived just prior to our reservation time. We were greeted and seated promptly. The bar area was very busy, the restaurant area was almost empty but filled up quite soon after we were seated. Our server, Nicole, was very efficient, pleasant and friendly. Drinks and food arrived in an acceptable amount of time. My two dining companions both had Lamb Shank which they thoroughly enjoyed. I had whole red snapper which seemed to be over cooked and dry. We finished our meal with different desserts. All very good. Noise level was loud with a lot of people having a good time. Well worth another visit.
We r Greek and it is hard to find authentic Greek food. We went back for a second visit during our stay.
The service was horrible. It took 30 minutes to get 1 drink and 1 appetizer. The app came out burnt on top and cold in the middle. (Spanakopita which is our fav) our server never even came back to take our order so we decided to just get the check and leave. It was a waste of our time. For such a cute spot and atmosphere, the food and the service really sucks...
We have been there many times and find the food very authentic, different and great for sharing. Our only complaint on a Friday night was that the music was SO LOUD that you could barely hear the persons across the table.
Service was terrible. One of our party ordered his lamb chops medium rare. They were served well done. Our waiter no where about to talk so talked to other server and asked for new order cooked properly. Never came! No apology or compensation when complained to manager. Very poor customer service. Overall the rest of our party rated their food as fair. Too many other restaurants on Atlantic with great food and service. We will not return to Opa.
Hostess forgot we were there after stating a table was being set up for us.
When we finally got seated, the waiter comes over and hands out the menus. And as he’s handing out the menus he asked us if we know what we want to order.
Actually laughable, we didn’t even have a chance to look at it. Then, a belly dancer shows up, actually looking for people to put money in her waistband. Then people getting up to dance with her. This was all very weird. I’ve been there several times, but I am hesitant to go back
