TAVERNA is nestled in Saskatoon's historic downtown core within walking distance of a number of major hotels in the renowned entertainment district. The building was originally the grocery section of the J.F. Cairns Department Store dating back to 1907. Taverna still maintains a historical charm and character, serving delicious, exceptionally well-prepared Italian American food since 1969. Simultaneously comfortable yet aspirational.

We believe that keeping the food fresh, simple and whole is the secret to a successful dish. Italian food doesn't have to be complicated or elaborate to be spectacular.

Took my granddaughter (29) for dinner for her birthday. The service was excellent! The food was exceptional and authentic Italian. A very decadent chocolate desert bearing a candle was presented to the birthday girl, gratis! Food portions were more than adequate. Would highly recommend this dining place.

Table across was 6 young men - very noisy. But everyone has the right to have a good time! This was just mildly annoying to some at my table. I would not have mentioned except you asked for feedback !!

The Service and the food were second to none!! Couldn't be better. Pricing was appropriate for such good quality. Our server was a gem! She knew what we needed when we needed it and held our hand through the menu several times. It was GREAT service.

Our experience was excellent. The food was absolutely delicious and the ambiance was wonderful. Plus our waiter. Steve was very nice and courteous. Definitely recommend going here….
