Taverna Di Bacco Ratings and Reviews
Fantastic. Booked a last minute reservation purely out of convenience. What a great surprise. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the next evening. Greeted warmly by the chef as if we were old friends. Everything was prepared perfectly. Steak tartare, spaghetti squash "salad" were amazing. Chef is a lovely man and we hope to return again and again.
My sister who was in town from MD and I went on the coldest night in January, we were welcomed with open arms and warm smiles. The special Lobster Bisque made with cauliflower puree instead of cream was truly inspired, we ordered a second bowl! The food was absolutely exquisite and Chef Marcicio is lovely. A cool spot I would return in a heartbeat!
Despite having to tell 3 different people that we were there and had a reservation 3 other parties were seated ahead of us. The table where we were seated is right in front of the open kitchen so wait staff were constantly coming by and carrying plates of food over our heads.
On a positive note, the wait staff is friendly and when they are providing service, the service is good. The food took a bit longer than expected but when it arrived it was delicious. The wine list is good and reasonably priced.
I made a reservation for 3 at 8:30pm and found out I would be running late. Unfortunately the phone number listed on the website does not get a live person, so I could not let them know. I ended up arriving at the place at 9:15pm with 6 people and was met by the Chef after entering. He was so pleasant and seated us as though we were expected all of the time. Our dinner was amazing. We let the chef prepare us appetizers of his choice which were spectacular. The Burratta on a bed of spaghetti squash is a must of you go. Pasta and porchetta dishes were spot on and everyone raved about their meals. Finished with wonderful desserts picked by the chef again and great conversation as he stopped by a number of times to check on us. It felt like we were in his home dining and not at a restaurant.
A memorable evening that I look forward to repeating the next time I am in the Lower East Side.
This is a lovely restaurant! Food was outstanding, great cocktails, and the most wonderful, warm, & gracious staff! The ONLY downside is that it's rock concert loud! To be fair, we were there at 9:00 PM on a Saturday... we'll definitely be back, but maybe not at peak time.
Great Italian restaurant in LES, Chef Maurizio is always warm and charming. Menu has some staples but you can hear specials of beef, pork and veal. I always perfect the eggplant . In the warmer months the outdoor patio is refreshing.
We will continue to be frequent guests.
A group of 11 turned up here simply for reasons of geography and that they had some gluten free choices. I would have given all categories 5 stars but then readers may think this is set up. The bartender was wonderful, attentive, helpful, etc. The waitress was lovely as well. attentive, kind, and not intrusive. Everything came out at once and was hot. The setting is great and the outdoor dining is very quiet. The accommodated my friend's need for no gluten and gluten free beer.
We had the assortment of meats & cheeses, meatballs, as well as the octupus as a appetizer. My wife had the chicken (pollo) which is one of the chefs specials and I had the chicken parm. I can't say enough about my dish as it was different in a great way and my limited taste of my wife's was also great. You will not be sorry.
A wonderful restaurant. Had dinner for 10 guests for my partner's birthday. The staff were accommodating and patient with the large group - more than that, they were cheerful and friendly! The food is exceptional, and we met the chef after who is a delight. I would recommend for large groups to a romantic dinner for two.
1st we went there b/c of an email fr Open Table implying that it was "NY Italian Restaurants Food Wk". Well it appears Open Table never informed the restaurant. However, Mauricio the owner found out about the mix up and turned the whole experience into a taste testing menu and the rest is history. We will be going bk there often and always. Total class act from top to bottom. 5 stars
My boyfriend and I accidentally discovered this restaurant a few months ago and we've returned 3 times the staff could not be any more kind and attentive. The chef is beyond welcoming and his passion is infectious. The food is amazing. And I had the pleasure of actually guessing one of his secret ingredients correctly. If you love food and ready for an amazing culinary experience we 100% reccomend this restaurant
We had our parents in town and decided to end our weekend at Taverna di Bacco. We were so excited to share our favorite restaurant with family. We had talked it up for months in advance. Yet somehow Chef Maurizio and his staff exceeded all possible expectations in both food and hospitality. There are no words -- just go!
I forget the owner's name but he could not have been more friendly and a superb host. We celebrated a low key birthday and had a fantastic time! Noise level is fine as we were able to have a nice conversation without shouting. Food is fantastic and the craft cocktails and wine list is very good and very reasonable. A true neighborhood fine. I will be back to dine again!
The ambiance cannot be beat; the owner greeted us and was very warm and friendly. The food was delicious, flavorful and fresh. The price is what I would expect for the lower east side, but not overpriced. The alcohol was a tad overpriced for what it is, but that is every single place in the area. Service was friendly and prompt, and the restaurant as a whole was very clean. Highly recommended.
