Tavern is the third restaurant from the chef and sommelier team of Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne, who also own Lucques restaurant and AOC winebar. This is their West Los Angeles outpost, which serves as a local gathering spot for the Brentwood crowd. Chicly designed by Jeffrey Alan Marks, Tavern encompasses three separate, yet connected spaces: a glass roofed atrium dining room, a large blue walled bar and a café space called the Larder that features casual dining, bakery, retail and prepared foods to go. The restaurant serves Suzanne Goin’s signature California/Mediterranean cuisine with just a touch of a classic American influence.

Always a pleasure to dine here. I can make a meal out of their delicious bread and butter! I prefer the happy hour for it's value, but the main atrium is very pretty.

Went for breakfast on a weekday. Easy parking in the lot in the back, great breakfast menu, and beautiful covered patio which was bright and felt like we were outside. I will definitely go back for dinner soon.

I always love coming to the Tavern. The food is consistently good, the atmosphere, whether or not you are in the atrium or the bar area is very appealing and comfortable and it's never too noisy. One of my favorite spots to meet people for lunch or dinner.

I love this restaurant and the ambience they have created. Daniel, our wonderful server, was friendly, polite, professional, patient and all around attentive. We were a large group and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better to be our server-extraordinaire! :)

Sorry to give this report. Food was very mediocre. Tavern has always been a favorite. Turkey burger was tasteless and fries were limp. Not the usual Suzanne Goin brilliance!

Waitstaff was terrific. Very attentive considering how busy they always are there. Great ambiance, outdoor area is covered by tent that creates great vibe.

I was very disappointed with the food. We have been coming to this restaurant for a number of years. I tried both lunch and dinner recently. The menu is very limited now and the food is ordinary. This was always our "go to" spot with friends and family. So sorry this has changed. (But I still love the bread!!)

We won’t be returning. The food was at one time great, now it’s fair at best. The portions are ridiculously small. There are too many great restaurants out there to settle for bad food. The room is gorgeous, it’s a shame.

The ambience really makes this place.
Ask to sit in the atrium. Really lovely, although it can get loud.
Food is delicious.
Service was only o.k. this time around. Our waitress was pleasant, but only checked on us 1x. Ran out of water & coffee. :-(

This is a wonderful brunch and lunch restaurant. They would be well served if they enhanced the dinner menu...make it less "precious". And a tad heartier. It is easy to leave with a big tab and not a full stomach. The room is beautiful. The staff is great. The wines are well selected. But, please...better dinner options for the less adventurous.

The Tavern always serves delicious food in a lovely atmosphere. The service was excellent. It is our go-to place to have a good lunch with friends. I did think the portion on the crab salad was small - but it was delicious nonetheless. The bread helped.

One of my favorite restaurants. Food is great and inventive. Ambiance is unique - feels romantic at the same time freeing. However, it's starting to show it's years. There is visible water damage on the roof, just need some TLC, new paint. Management and owners, keep investing in this space, it's worth preserving! Staff is educated and well trained. Sometimes they seem a little light in staff but nothing too hindering.

We celebrated Mother's day and had a wonderful brunch. We were accommodated where I
requested, and though the restaurant was understandably crowed, we had great service
and a lovely afternoon.

Went for Mother’s Day brunch. Had reservation and was seated immediately. That was the only positive part of the experience. Service was terrible. Out of all pastries by 10:30 am. Limited menu of mostly unappealing food. Food that we got was mediocre. Took forever just to get a cup of coffee and water. Starving and ask for bread basket. Cold, oily horrible tasting bread. Not kid friendly. Had to ask for coffee refills. Took forever for food to come. Noise level was unbearable. Would never return.

My brunch dish was one I had a month earlier.
Terrific. One of the best, if not, the best hash ever.
Everyone on both occasions was elated with their meal.
I certainly will return.

the service was a little slow.
Waited for coffee refill more than 15 min.

Such a disappointing brunch! My party was sat 15 minutes late due to tables finishing up later then expected but there were plenty of seats open. Hostesses weren't personable. Service wasn't great...Very slow & not very attentive at all. Bakery was out of almost all of their breakfast pastries. Leftover food was on the floor under our table from party before. All around, not the best experience & won't be rushing back.

Others who arrived much later were served while we waited 40 minutes for brunch, which was cold when it arrived after two complaints. The meal was comped, but the get-together was ruined.

The food was outstanding, but the so-called medium portions were small. The prices are steep, so not a place you would go to often, but totally worth the detour for a celebration or special occasion.

I expected to be seated in the dining room since I have a reservation for 5 people, but very rude host gave us a table in the bar, where was super loud and we couldn't hear each other. It could be fun but since I was meeting friends who I didn't see for a year, I wanted to have a conversation - no chance. Food was decent, waiter was very helpful.

Everything was great, except for the service. We came in on a Friday night and were the youngest ones there. Maybe that was the problem because our waiter gave preferential treatment to the families and older parties. He acted pretty condescending, never asked how our food was or if we needed anything. He walked by several times to the tables on opposite sides of our table, without a glance in our direction. Our side of broccolini never came and we couldn’t get his attention to ask about it. At least we weren’t charged for it. I will go back for the food and ambiance, but hope I get a more attentive waiter next time.

I picked the wrong food, the blueberry pancakes were not good, dry pancakes & gooey topping. Other items looked much better but I listened to the waitress suggestion, either fix it or take it off.
