Started out promising---great interior in the main area;
Food was very good except for my Nicoise Tuna sandwich--way too salty;
I complained at the end of the meal and likely should have sooner ...waitress apologized but did not do anything or make an adjustment;
I spent 107 bucks for a brunch for 2 without alcoholic drinks...you would think they might have split the difference on one sandwich; not sure i will return;
We were splendid hosted with our close friends! Front desk, waiter, quality & selecting choices were superb!
The Tavern is an always reliable place to have dinner in Brentwood. Whereas the food is always good, it was once more creative and it appears to have settle for just reliably good these days. The dining room is lovely and the tables are sufficiently spaced so that you can have a conversation.
What a great meal. Everything was on point. I went for Brunch and it wasn't too crowded.
Attention to detain. Service was excellent. Food was the best. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Run, don't walk to this place.
Food overpriced and underwhelming. Lousy for vegetarians.
Overpriced. Menu limited although all well prepared. Atrium provides great ambience Very pleasant.
Great food. Good selection of entree choices. Great bar and wine options. All items were well prepared and presented. Not inexpensive, but good for a nice meal out, date, or occasion.
Lunch was good not great. Noisy. Limited menu. Sparse servings.
I'm breaking up with you, Tavern. Gravely disappointed in the food. The menu is inspired and different, but it all comes down to taste and Tavern does not deliver. I ordered the Devil's Chicken as my main, and I thought it was a waste of my money. The dish was too soupy and the chicken was dry and tasteless. Not going back even though it's conveniently located in my neighborhood.
Everything was disappointing about our evening in comparison to the many other great dining experiences we have had at the Tavern. It has been awhile since we have been, but things have really gone down.
All areas of the restaurant and the experience need attention. Cleanliness of restaurant very poor. Food quality and preparation poor. Service way below average in attention to detail. So sad to see such a great restaurant fall apart. I doubt that we will ever return.
Hi the only thing is the decor, the trees were missing ?? That was very nice before , now it looks like an empty space , behire it was like seating outdoor, but with a cover and the trees was very nice !! Now I don’t like it, to empty big salon !!
A truly classy place, without the snootiness. The food is inspired, and the Atrium has to be one of the loveliest "rooms" in L.A. You feel like you're outside, even while you're inside! The staff is attentive and warm, and I felt everyone really cared about two mature women having a good dining experience (which isn't always the case). I recommend this place to anyone ready to embrace all those qualities, who isn't looking for something inexpensive.
This is probably the 4x time I’ve dined there. Surprisingly subpar food this time around. Super loud music. Space is great but really not special in any way.
Always a treat. Lovely for breakfast, as well as lunch and dinner. Excellent service, creative food and comfortable environment.
I had the Thai salad with Albacore and I was surprised to find it overly dressed and very wet.
Have never been disappointed in the food before. But, will definitely return
Tavern continues to be our favorite restaurant!
Been here many times - great bar and happy hour - lovely for breakfasts in the atrium or the larder for more casual. This time was a luncheon with an old friend. Hostess was very accommodating with seating although ... It is VERY noisy at the height of lunch and the tables are VERY close together. Four people having a business lunch right next to us with VERY loud voices and papers strewn about. Luckily they asked for the check when we sat down. We were chatting and did not order for at least 20 minutes and the waitress kept checking in - when I finally did order she said "Oh, that's the one thing we don't have today." Could have mentioned that 20 minutes ago? Meal was just ok - still like the room and the energy and would probably come back to try again but maybe a little later - after the lunch crowd or perhaps just stick with breakfast!
Food and service were nothing special. None of the dishes were remarkable in any way aside from price. It was good, but not special in any way. We sat down at around 8:45 and as we were eating our desserts around 10 they turned the music off. Felt pretty rude considering we were having a $300 dinner for three. people.
Great ambiance for a brunch or lunch
Really good menu
my favorite is the Brisket Hash
best hash ever
Tables were 6 inches apart; we heard everything the next table had to say. Food was extremely greasy and salty. Service was OK. Very loud. Not good value...
The Tavern is a beautiful restaurant with good service. The food however was just ok. The Spanish Fried Chicken was soggy and extremely oily. The salad with buttermilk dressing was very light on the dressing and unimpressionable. The Steak Frites was not flavorful. The Frites and Bread were delicious. I'm not sure that I would return. The ambiance is fantastic but the food needs work.
My 4 friends and I had a lovely lunch at Tavern on Wednesday. Four of us chose from the DineLA Restaurant Week menu. The fish tacos were very good according to 2 of my friends, but two of us thought our chicken paillard was too salty. We all enjoyed our salads though. Service was a bit disappointing because one of the orders was wrong and my friend had to wait for it to be corrected. Staff was friendly and efficient otherwise. The ambience was wonderful as usual.
Important business dinner suffered because of Tavern. After being initially impressed with ambiance and feel, the experience spiraled downward. Seated at 7:45PM, finished at 10:10PM. Unacceptable wait for food to the point my clients were looking around uncomfortably wondering when we were going to eat. Waitress apologized once, manager apologized once only when dinner was over. Will not return...really disappointed. Food was ok, portions small. Price too high for this experience. Recommend you do not plan business dinners at Tavern.
Another great meal at Tavern which reminded me of why Suzanne Goin is my favorite chef in Los Angeles. Began with Spicy Squash Soup. The crunchy pumpkin seeds provided a nice textural contrast; next was a juicy Chicken Paillard, Pecorino Pudding and a salad with a flavorful vinaigrette.
Steak as ordered medium rare, and came out well done.
(Scoitsh) salmon, which I am familiar with and frequently cook myself) was totally devoid of any flavor, and could not have been fresh.
Would have sent back both of these orders, but they took so long to arrive that we decided to keep them - and suffer; probably a mistake- as I developed a stomach problem later that evening- and ate nothing else during that day.
Server was polite, but confused. Food also pricey.
Will not be returning.
Great! Yummy and nice.
The only real problem was the noise. We had a corner and at times, couldn't hear. Just the way it is and I'm not upset.
Interesting experience - first time at Tavern......have been a loyal follower of "the ladies" - Suzanne & Caroline since they started!!! So the waiter spilled my 1/2 glass of wine - yep he cleaned it
up BUT never replaced it.......even with a "half" glass of wine........ First time I've ever experienced that....
A first class meal all around. We asked for a corner banquet in the main room and it was perfect.
It was a Monday night so it was pleasantly quiet but lively. The food is terrific, the staff knows their stuff...had a great time. The front is great for breakfast ...coffee, pastry, etc...
Is on the top of the list of my favorite restaurant. Everything is great, and I've never had an issue with anything.
Tavern has one of the best dining areas around! Such a light, pleasant, wonderful atmosphere to enjoy great food. We love coming here! A fantastic spot to find yourself.
Tavern Never Disappoints....perfect environment for a meeting business lunch on t6he West Side.
Perfect place - beautiful outside feeling patio— but happily inside with AC and greenery and feeling of sunlight - wonderful atmosphere
And food was delicious as usual
(As was staff - from The welcome to the service- all top notch!!!
Interesting brunch choices in a lovely setting in the atrium. The wine list is strong and the staff / service is excellent
I love the food and the ambiance at the Tavern. I love to bring new people to experience it.
Went for lunch. It was the second time I was there. I was unimpressed with my first visit a long time ago, but thought I'd give it another shot. Tavern is a beautiful restaurant in search of menu. I had fish Taco's - sort of a desperation choice since there wasn't an appealing salad option. The fish is fried. The tacos were less inspired and tasty than the average food truck. It's hard to believe that this place is the work of a renown chef.
The service was respectfully unhurried, which we appreciated.
Beautiful ambience and service. I hope they enlarge their menu for lunch though
Interesting combination of hip, classic and refined. Excellent pastries as well. Always a safe choice.
This and has been a local favorite. It continues to be consistent and spot on.
Food was good. Service was great. We loved sharing our small plates together.
