I missed the great Happy Hour menu and cheap drinks by one minute so I had to go with the regular menu - $32 for grilled asparagus? I rest my case - stick to happy hour, not too crowded friendly group.
Food was mediocre... I had asked for a corner table a week before the reservation... did not get it... when I asked if I could move to an EMPTY corner, I was told it was for an investor.
By the way, the table stayed empty the whole time I was there.
And front desk...hostesses we anything but inviting.
What happened to this place?
Service was very slow.
We go there often
Food is better than average, but the lattes and desserts miss the mark. Server was slow and was not proactive. I really shouldn't need to ask the server to check on our table.
Food was very late in arriving. And, it was soggy and rather tasteless when it finally came. Extremely disappointing.
Tavern is always great. Food is wonderful, and service always top notch.
food came out wrong and the one order that did come out correct was given to the wrong person. the table was off balance and we had to ask 3x before it got remedied.
Not a place for dogs, especially a golden doodle, area seats are close together leaving enough area to walk.
Food looked pretty, not great tasting. I ordered ham & cheese croissant to be warmed, didn’t happen... no I did not send back, I didn’t want my guest meal to get cold which means we ends up eating separately .
Maybe I will try again before I bring guests.
Brunch for my birthday, food was mediocre. Couldn’t split up bill, hostess almost had a heart attack because we had an extra person join us. It was blah.
We had 9 of us sow we were able to try a fantastic selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts. Excellent food and some surprising tastes. Compliments to the chef and staff at the Tavern. Each dish had a unique and tasty spin.
Service was very good, food was very good with a fresh presentation.
The food generally is good but it is consistently either under or over-seasoned. My salmon dish was, unfortunately, lacking in salt and needed more acid. More critically, however, is the level of the service. One of the female bus persons dumped iced tap water into our glasses that were filled with bottled flat water. A restaurant like Tavern should do more to elevate its service.
Lunch with mom
The food was unexpectedly FAIR. We were unimpressed with the tastes, textures and overall flavor for the price. Although the staff was very nice, the food quality was poor!
Enjoyable food, and excellent service complemented enjoyable company, and the noise level wasn't too bad ( however we were early !)
Beautiful setting for a delicious lunch meeting, business or otherwise. Would have wished for a little more powdered sugar and a little less time in the fryer for the beignets to bring our nearly perfect meal to a sweet end.
Tavern is always reliable and the dining room has a very pleasant ambiance.
Will try to focus on seasonal dishes in addition to year round favorites.
One of our party DID complain that his dish was too salty and left most of it.
They did not charge for his. So they are trying for client satisfaction.
Prices are crazy, pancakes for $18 rest of items similarly priced,
Bring your 401k
We celebrated a birthday here and the server was sure to surprise us with a birthday candle and dessert! Wonderful food, great ambiance for brunch!
The staff and service were wonderful. They made he night very special for us
I took clients to lunch at the Tavern, and we really enjoyed ourselves. The bacon-wrapped dates were delicious, as were the entrees, and the server-recommended desserts were yummy. The staff was conscientious and helpful, and the service was great. Looking forward to my next visit!
Excellent Food. Excellent Service. Great ambiance.
Always wonderful! We love the atrium that is always bright and beautiful. The option of having small portions of 3 different things is a great idea.
It was good went to meet some family and we had a great time service was great food was great
The service is never that good for what you’re paying for
Absolutely one of the BEST meals I have had in a long time. 4th time at Tavern, I had the Hmager Steak- AMAZING! My girlfriend has the Shortrib- LOTS of flavors and simply delicious ! Snickers bar A MUST AS ALWAYS. Tavern is one of my favorites here in LA and ALWAYS consistent !
Food was delicious. Great light room with high ceilings.
The Tavern is a favorite place of ours ... very upscale surroundings and delicious food. The servers and staff are excellent and nice too!
A little noisy and crowded upon arrival at 1:30 pm, However, it cleared out shortly after that and was very pleasant. Excellent service.
Always very good food, always very good service. Great place.
Waitress was moody and seemed to
Go missing a lot.
Sat in the beautiful atrium. Great service and delicious breakfast. Quiet and not crowded during the week for breakfast. Would go back.
While the food was great, the restaurant (and therefore OpenTable) neglected to inform us of the prix-fixe menu. This was surprising and unfortunate, since my girlfriend has dietary restrictions which couldn't be accompanied on that menu. As usual, the food was great and the service was very good.
Terrible, greasy chicken. Good service. Great ambiance.
Food is beautifully prepared and presented. The breakfast/brunch items were excellent but I had an entree salad and it was the size of a diner side salad. I went home after and ate. The server was consistently unavailable and the restaurant was a bit too loud. I have had wonderful dinners there so I will give it another try to see if this was just an off day. I would still recommend the restaurant but I have some serious reservations.
Unfortunately, our servers are not attentive and you may have to track them down for assistance/service.
Wait staff is always professional and attentive. Lanai Room in back is always comfortable and inviting.
The new menu has interesting items but the preparation is not up to the level of the previous menu. Fall vegetables were woody, tough, and inedible. Salmon was a piece of fish on a sea of salad greens. $32 was the price for a small bowl of pasta. Prices have gone up but the culinary aspect has gone in reverse somewhat. Not what we expected after years of going here. Once a favorite, unfortunately we probably will not return.
Well designed space but we were all underwhelmed by the food. Service was good. Parking is a disaster, but that's Brentwood in general.
