Owners Nick and Ryan Dwyer along with Mike Schnupp, who's also the executive chef, joined forces to offer patrons a place to unwind, converse and enjoy a great meal. Had another delightful night this week at Tavern 58, one of our favorites. Tho a Monday nite, it was lively and humming with diners either enjoying the ambience of the outdoor porch area, the comfortable bar, or inside in a cozy booth, which we chose for the 3 of us to have a quiet conversation. It is always a treat to try Chef Mike's specials and this night was no exception. We each tried a different special entrée, which we shared with each other, as well as a special salad. Ditto, the special dessert. What a treat! We enjoyed great service -- our waiter, an Eastman grad, now doing his PhD --- and one of the owners was on premises as usual --- very welcoming, very friendly, very professional. I totally recommend this restaurant once again -- you can relax and be pampered --- you're in good hands at Tavern 58!

While going by recent recommendations from co workers, I decided to make a reservation for a nightly dinner with myhusband ,brother (whom is a local chef) and his girlfriend . Always on the lookout for something new and different ,we thought we would give tavern58 a shot. Our waiter (male,late twenties) was knowledgeable and went through the evening specials. After ordering first round of drinks and 2 appetizers (calamari&cheese dip),our wait for drinks was much longer than expected. But our server was on top of it,letting us know that the bar was backed up and he was giving them the eye to speed things up. Shortly after finally receiving our first cocktails,Calamari was room temperature at best.Cheese dip was good although the tricolored chips definitely needed seasoning.After deliberating over our entree choices,my brothers selection, which I believe was rock shrimp with crab stuffing and risotto,came highly recommended from our server.Server mentioned that he loves the risotto and it was definitely his favorite dish.My brother was happy that he had made the decision,based on his love for risotto and the process of making a great risotto.Long story short,he said the risotto with spinach was probably the worst he ever had. Dry as a bone,no flavor as if it were made with plain water with not even salt or pepper. For 28 $, 4 shrimp with miniscule crab stuffing...a rip off. My brothers girlfriend I believe had an 8 oz fillet or sirloin,which she said was tough and chewy. The best entree on the table happened to be the cheapest,my husbands sandwich,which he said was subpar at best.We fished our meals because we were starving ,after mentioning our concerns to our server and receiving salt and pepper from him.
We were gracious for him apologizing and comping our appetizers,but we dine out looking for a good meal at a suitable price.We did not find it here that evening.

Virgins visitors and have to say it has went to the top of the list quickly. Will be back soon. Great deal, fabulous service and the food to post about.

Everything was wonderful. I took my three sons and one of their girlfriends out for dinner. The service was excellent as was the food. Three of us ordered steaks, one of us ordered macaroni and cheese, and one ordered the bison burger. It was a Friday night and some people were dressed really nice while others were more casual.

Really great find!

We have never been disappointed at Tavern 58. The menu selection is always interesting and the specials never fail to excite us. The servers are attentive and professional. The food is wonderful!!

Both the food and the atmosphere were wonderful. My crab stuffed shrimp was cooked to perfection and the chilled soup was superb. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. This is a very nice place to go for a date or lovely evening out with a friend.

Our server was patient and friendly with our group. Sharing plates was easy to accomplish. The specials offered met the needs of several people in our party. We did not feel rushed during our time at the restaurant.

Music could have been a little quieter but perhaps it was loud due to not that many people dining yet. We ate early. Otherwise we really enjoyed everything.

Amazing food! We have been here twice now and both times loved everything start to finish. Would like to sit outside on our next visit though. Service is excellent as well. Hostess, wait staff, bartenders and the owner being present and friendly. One of our new to go places!

We had a wonderful server which made the evening ok but the quality of the food was poor and ultimately very overpriced.
