A New England tradition. Fresh lobster meat tossed with mayonnaise on a grilled roll with lettuce. Also available hot and buttered
Nice tourist restaurant near the water. Extensive menu with decent prices. The food was actually quit good, good portion sizes for the price, and exceeded my expectations. I had the scallops which were perfectly done. Service was really great. Atmosphere is super casual.
A bit pricey but Great food and great service
In the past I've been very happy here, but this was a disappointing evening. Food was well overcooked, under-portioned and over-priced. Our waitress did a fine job and was clearly working very hard. The problem lied within the food itself, specifically the price given the small portions and the quality of the food itself. We both felt that the seafood was perhaps frozen, although it had been cooked so far beyond what it should have been that it was hard to tell for sure. When the bill came we felt an overwhelming sense of being "ripped off". We paid high quality prices for what felt like fast food. Very surprised and highly disappointed, unlikely to return.
We enjoyed the margarita flight and skinny coconut beverages. There was a short delay in having a waitress greet us and the manager immediately rectified the situation and paid for our first round of drinks. The seafood risotto and seafood casserole were both delicious! Key lime pie was a wonderful way end our meal! Highly recommend!
Our server was so patient with us, I wanna say her name was Rachel but she was put with a bunch of crazy girls and she was awesome! And the food was amazing!!
Loved everything about the evening, delicious drinks and the lobster roll was delicious! Only thing was the fried clams just weren't great. But our waitress was wonderful and super attentive.
We had family in from Canada. The food was excellent and the service was good. It was pricey but worth it.
Competing music with nearby establishments is…challenging. Great welcoming attentive service. Would like to see more fresh fish on the menu.
Lobster tacos are huge! A nice twist on a lobster roll.
Great food , great service pretty setting. We sat at the bar waiting for a table. Everyone was working hard and still smiling. Good was outstanding! Awesome cocktails!
Loved sitting outside. The food was delicious. Great service. I would highly recommend!!
The food was amazing, our waitress was friendly and very helpful. Loved the view and the margarita's.
We both enjoyed our lobster grilled cheese sandwiches. Filling, tasty and a fair price for the value. Most of all our server, "Meaghan O.", was spot on, personable, efficient, knowledgable and just an effervescent personality. I'd ask to be seated in her area anytime from now on. It was a great meal and we'll be back.
I made a lunch reservation here well in advance for a special occasion. Me and my 78 year old mom were sat at a dimly lit high top table way in back instead of idk maybe one of the many open booths with a water view. The young hostesses seem more concerned with other things than being particularly welcoming and friendly. The food was just ok, kinda bland. $30 fisherman’s platter was over fried and had rubbery calamari. Service was incredibly slow and minimal. We almost got up to get our own silverware after waiting and waited a half hour for the check. Unfortunately, Tavern on the Wharf seems like another case of an overrated place that doesn’t have to try all too hard because their location provides them with business.
The food was good. However, it was a little too noisy inside the restaurant. Overall, though, it was a great experience and I would definitely go again.
With the reservation we were seated quickly, and the service was generally great. However, some of the other guests were not.
The food was fantastic, the drinks were great.
In the summer in Plymouth you will have to expect crowds.
Restaurant is great. Parking is a nightmare. Could not get the app or the pay station to take my card and ended up with a $30 illegal parking ticket.
We were looking for a casual restaurant on/near the water and picked Tavern on the Wharf. Our server, Louis, was awesome. He was entertaining, knowledgeable and steered me in the right direction with ordering the lobster roll, it was soooooo good. My husbands menu choice was just ok which is why this review gets 4 stars instead of 5. We would absolutely go back.
Great good, good sized portions and a very nice atmosphere. My only real con is that it’s a little expensive but I guess that’s to get expected in a tourist area.
We were seated 3 feet from the guitar singer and Mike. You couldn’t hear yourself think. We were with people we haven’t seen in two year and it was impossible to talk. Very disappointed.
Food was good. Service wasn’t great. Waitress was never over to our table to ask if we needed anything. She served the check right as our entrees came out. Took a long time for her to get our drinks too.
Ali was great and the food was delicious!!!
We had a lovely lunch on the patio, with a view of the water. The cold lobster roll was delicious!
Little too loud from the music. It wa a bit ahrd to have a conversation at our table
The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Our waitress was great - friendly and attentive. Overall it was a great experience. Will definitely be back
The food was great but would have liked a better view of the water.
I usually love the food here but lunch was disappointing. I ordered lobster bacon taco and onion rings several times. Somehow it was made differently...the lobster taco was only ok and the onion rings were not good at all...too much batter, dark batter, hardly any onion inside and they were soggy not crisp. I am hoping it just was an off day or maybe they had a different chef?
Just a nice day for brunch.
Always have an amazing experience at the tavern. Great food and service and love the live music outside. My favorite summer spot!
We went in a busy Saturday late afternoon. The staff were friendly and attentive. The good was good. Pleasant experience
Likes the atmosphere- loud music and great views. The menu is huge - too big - and the quality wasn’t great.
Love it there for my daughter who is Gluten Free. They have special ovens just for her so she can order her favorite. Drinks are just ok, but the food and atmosphere is good
Great meal. Some check issues and a manager that was a little young to understand the situation. Great service and delicious food.
Fun night out
Food was quick and delicious
Service was outstanding
My wives fish and chips were very dark in color from old oil and my cod was tough (rubbery) which is a result of aged product. Our server took too long to get us drinks etc.
The front door was locked. And even after I called and said people were waiting outside no one still came to the door to let us in for 20 minutes.
The food was very overpriced for what you got. I understand it's waterfront dining and that's probably why they charge more money.
But the appetizers were pitifully small. The fisherman platter was also extremely small. If you go next door to woods they will give you a better platter much less money.
The service was excellent.
He did his best to try to make good of poor quality of dishes coming from the kitchen.
We were originally sat indoors even though our reservation was made for outdoors. I mentioned it to the hostess and she said it wasn’t in her notes so she sat us indoors but my mother is not fully vaccinated so I checked my email to make sure I did make the reservation for outdoors. And I felt like a jerk but I had to go up and insist that we be sat outdoors per the reservation. The food itself was delicious. It took us asking at least three different people for us to get some silverware so our food was on the cold side when we actually got to start eating it. But like I said it was amazing. The mixed drinks we got had several missing ingredients from what was described on the drink menu. I asked my waitress twice if the drink I had in my hand was really the one I ordered and she insisted that it was. My drink tasted like watered down raspberry vodka and rosé and I wanted the summer sangria which had strawberry purée and fresh blueberries which were nonexistent in my drink🤷♀️ I hate writing negative reviews I feel like a jerk but spending $240 for four people I honestly did expect my drinks to be on point.
We very much enjoyed our meal there and will be returning soon.
We had no utensils on our table and had to ask for them a number of times.. When delivered, the food was not what my wife ordered and had to be replaced by the waitress.
