Waiter did not inform us of the specials or really provide any extra service. Had to wave him down for more water
Tavern on the Green is one of my favorite NYC spots! It’s perfect! And with the exception of a glitch in the timing of our order, we loved everything! Started with the breakfast flatbread to share — simple and delicious! And then chose two appetizers for my entree — potato pancakes and yogurt.
We celebrated a birthday. The food was delicious, and while our server was very nice, the overall service could be better.
Fast efficient service. Beautiful food.
Wonderful night and waiter was spot on
Had been there years ago. So happy it’s back. Will always go when in NYC. Wonderful. Service and food exceptional. Had fun
I had dream with this restaurant for years while leaving in NY ,and as a New Yorker I never had the chance to do it.
After so many years leaving in another state, it was still on my to do list.
it turned out to be more than what I dream it would be, the service was outstanding, the food amazing and the restaurant itself it was a dream that came true TRULY!
thank you so much!!!!
Wonderful atmosphere, perfect service and delicious meal. We ate outside on a glorious September night. Nothing is better. Quintessential New York experience.
Continues a wonderful New York tradition. Not quite as elegant as formerly, but still a very pleasant place to dine.
We arrived early and our table was ready for us. We actually picked an indoor table at the window glass with a terrific view of the inner garden area. Lovely! We had drinks at the bar before we sat down and the bartender Stephanie made a mistake on our beverage bill. I get the feeling if I didn't look, I would have been over charged. She also had some attitude about how I wanted my drink! Sheesh. Once at our lovely table, our waiter, Earl, took excellent care of us! We ordered the crab cake and the octopus which were bland but attractive. She had the seafood special which was also bland. I had the NY steak which was excellent. They gave us a delicious slice of cake for dessert. Not a bad experience, but certainly not as good as we expected for spending $250. We will try it again in the future.
With a group of 10 it was not difficult to seat us. Service was excellent.
Outstanding in every way. Might have to go on a regular basis!
Great setting, great space, great food, great staff and great service. Thanks!
It was a Monday night. I had requested a seat near my he windows, there were plenty available but sat us in back by kitchen. We had to ask to move, slightly disappointed as it was previously requested and available.
AS EXPECTED, EXCEPT PARKING......TWO BLOCKS AWAY AT A COST OF 1/3 OF THE MEAL COST. WHILE A SPACIOUS PARKING LOT IS EMPTY STEPS AWAY FROM THE ENTRANCE !!!
Gorgeous setting, amazing food in larger then expected portion sizes, ambiance that made it feel like a dream. 10/10 would come back here or recommend this restaurant to friends/family.
Sunday night. Empty restaurant. Sat next to kitchen despite being asked to move to the several open tables by the window. Led to table which was not set up. Asked the hostess to keep quiet that we wanted to pick up the bill as a surprise/present for my parents 46th wedding anniversary, and yet she came over asking the table whose card she had, ruining the surprise and letting people know we already paid. Took the server ages to take our drink order and subsequently our food order. Not worth the $1,000+ we spent.
The building is historic and beautiful. The outdoor patio was enchanting. We had a lovely evening and the wait staff was professional, charming, and efficient. I don't regret going and spending a lovely evening there to celebrate our 30th anniversary. The food was well prepared and came out quickly but it was just bland. I had the salmon and it was perfectly cooked and salmon is tasty enough to hold its own but it wasn't special in any way. The same with the chicken. I'm impressed that this historic establishment can serve so many people very efficiently and it had a lot of charm but I was underwhelmed with the food.
Excellent service, food, and atmosphere. A must stop for out of towners.
Friendly staff! Very accomodating! Great food
I absolutely love this place. This is the second time I go. I went for my anniversary and they made the accommodations for my girlfriend and I to celebrate.
The staff was very kind and inviting. Tony was our water and was wonderful. The Scottish Salmon was delicious.
Some places rely on historical reputation...not Tavern on The Green! They blew away my expectations. Food, service and atmosphere were all amazing!
Wonderful Sunday brunch with my 8-year-old daughter! The food was excellent and service was wonderful. Classy and elegant restaurant, but understated and not pretentious.
We had a great Sunday brunch outside on the terrace on a beautiful September day. We had a bottle of sparkling rosé and avocado toast with poached eggs. Excellent!
Gem in Central Park. Really enjoy the brunch. Great atmosphere along with good service. A must stop for us when in New York.
Food was good, but not excellent. Waitress lacked enthusiasm. Bussers were very attentive and everything came out in a timely manner. Pastry basket was a tasty treat. My biggest complaint was that my iced coffee was practically water, but overall it was an enjoyable experience.
Return to tavern on the green. Was an occasional diner of the original. Place looks nice enough but lacking in any real ambience that made the original so special. Actually it look like they used the formula that many of the television designers are using the recreate spaces. We were not impressed with the open kitchen as we would have preferred admiring the greens of Central Park instead of viewing the kitchen staff. Food was very good. We had the bacon and egg flat bread, the eggs Benedict, and the brioche French toast was simply divine with Maple syrup and homemade whipped cream. Our server was pleasant enough but failed to ever asked us if we wanted coffee. Don't hesitate to stop by if you find yourself in Central Park for brunch but I don't think it's necessary to complete the Central Park experience.
Family celebration and we were treated like gold. Great staff, good food, live music. Wow had a great time. Thank you for making us feel special
Waiter was Brooklyn born and so funny and attentive which was a surprise. Food was just delicious and coffee was the best. Perfect Brunch experience. Lovely decor and food orders were beautiful and smelled Devine. The employee Entrance employees were not helpful. I drove in looking for parking and when asked was told “I don’t have a clue where there is parking” turning the car around there was a lot in “plain clear view” across the street. not cool!
Our original server was not coming to check on us, at all. Another server, Willy, saw me looking around and asked if he could be of assistance. He ended up taking care of us. Great job Willy!
Food mediocre. Outside seating terrible with wobbly table with hot environment due to clear plastic top which made you feel like you were in a greenhouse baking. Brunch menu boring and tasteless. Rude manager who asked us not to eat a piece of baklava out of my purse because it wasn’t purchased there yet no one offered dessert menu. Check for two for brunch $140 for a hamburger and steak and eggs which consisted of three small pieces of sliced steak and French fried fingerling potatoes. A far cry from the old tavern on the green.
Elegant and inviting. An iconic NYC dining experience.
Had always wanted to go. Finally got the opportunity and it was all I had expected. What ambiance.
Had brunch with my daughters on a recent trip to the city. It was definitely one of the more memorable meals we had on our 3 day trip. I highly recommend Tavern On The Green .
The service was sub par. We were seated for 20 minutes before anyone even came by to see if we wanted water.
Terrible food. Noisy. Service was good but doesn’t make up for terrible food and noise. AB was right.
Food was interesting and fantastic. Enjoyed every bite. Waiter was knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. I was disappointed that the restaurant seemed more casual than I had anticipated. from patrons in shorts and sneakers to staff in varying styles and shades of black. Table setting was also very casual. But the food was excellent and it was a beautiful night in Central Park.
We would highly recommend this venue. We ate here after our wedding. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and a beautiful setting - we sat outside. This is a great place.
The menu and food have greatly improved in the past year. The service was friendly; I might suggest that the hosts were a little less "fancy." It is one of the most lovely dining venues in NYC.
