What a absolutely perfect night. Lovely weather, delicious garlic shrimp, and great wait staff.
First time here and the food and service were great. They were very accommodating and we had a great birthday celebration for my wife.
Took our 2 Grand Daughters for their birthday . Had the most fantastic time , they loved every moment!!
They both want to go back again for the experience
Wonderful time at the restaurant with friends. Sat outside. The weather was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Wonderful food and wonderful atmosphere. Visited New York for my mother’s birthday and did a carriage ride through Central Park and had brunch Sunday .
The service was friendly, food delivered fast and to perfection.
Sadly, we came here for for husband’s 40th birthday brunch and the food was awful. We went to tavern 15 years ago when we were dating so I thought it would have been nice to go back and bring the kids. While the ambiance and service were excellent, the food was awful. I ordered the chicken Caesar and the chicken was greasy and the dressing had 0 taste (like eating oil.) My husband had the shrimp and grits and said it had no taste as well. The only decent food was the potato pancakes and the birthday cake they brought out. We sent back our meals after a couple bites and decided to just leave after that and will not be returning.
Such a lovely place to have brunch!
Went for brunch everything was great. Food was excellent. Highly recommend
We always make sure to dine at Tavern on the Green when we come to NYC; we sat outside and the weather was perfect. The brunch was delicious (I had the flatbread eggs/bacon) and a delicious berry sangria. We will be back when we are in the city in the Spring!
Food was good, but nothing spectacular. Service was not good at all. Sent back coffee and biscuit and gravy because they were literally stone cold. Took silverware after apps, and had to ask for more after main arrived. Had requested still water, and asst filled with tap as he was passing by. Really thought such an iconic restaurant would focus more on the guest experience. The atmosphere and location are the best though.
Our meals at brunch were the best food we had during our trip - delicious!
We went there to celebrate my wife’s birthday. It was a awesome experience. We had a great time. Food and wine was great. Service was really good too. We sat outside. Was a wonderful night.
This is my first visit since the remodel/re-opening and I love the ambiance of this place – very modern and chic. The sauteed garlic shrimp was delicious! However, since my last visit in 2005 and 2008, the remainder of the meal left a lot to be desired. I anticipated the same moist, tender and succulent roasted chicken that drew me in during my last visit but instead, it was tasteless and dry. The buttery, smooth mashed potatoes were just "usual" and almost non-existent under the chicken and vegetables.
The presentation was just okay. I would expect much more from such an upscale establishment and hope that improvements are made asap.
We are serious gourmands and have eaten at Tavern many times in years past. We were surprised and quite shocked at the food preparation...Garlic Shrimp appetizer looked and tasted like boiled shrimp in a watery,
totally tasteless liquid...mushroom tart was fine. A $45 Lobster Risotto was a small portion and only shreds of rubbery claw meat were included. Dish was overwhelmed with chopped mango...otherwise tasteless!
$36 Short Rib Entree was again a small portion of 2 pieces of short rib, barely tender meat.
We did not have drinks, wine or desserts. Check was $153...very disappointed!!!
My husband and I were visiting NYC for the weekend. We had concert tickets that night and our server kept that in mind. She was awesome!! She had a great personality, friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable of the menu items. We ordered the Tomahawk for 2. It was amazing!!! Will definitely go back next time we are in town.
Amazing Food and Service in a beautiful setting.
We had a very lovely brunch. Thank you to Becca for making it a wonderful experience.
Tavern on the Green is my favorite place to take my friends and family visiting the area and very convenient for residents of the UES. The service was spectacular and culturally diverse, which I definitely appreciate.
My wife and I had brunch here last Saturday while celebrating our 45th anniversary on a trip to New York. The last time we had eaten here was on a previous trip about 15 years ago. The restaurant has gone through a renovation since then. The atmosphere, the food and the service remains a very pleasant and relaxing experience. Tavern on the Green is truly an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the city. To really appreciate the setting, a table on the outdoor patio is a must. Tavern on the Green will certainly remain a destination restaurant on future trips to New York.
Excellent meal. Good service. Very attentive staff. Beautiful ambiance.
This is my second visit in 6 months....I'll definitely be back. EVERYTHING...and I mean EVERYTHING was delicious. I'm blown away by the level of service. Noise level...none. Great conversation.
This is a MUST DO.
The nicest restaurant we have been to in a long long time, great location, great food and great atmosphere. We will be back.
Perfect locale, nice menu, good service, great meal.
Wonderful Central Park Date. Did not disappoint. Food was well presented and tasty.
Took my husband on a stroll through Central Park, as he’d never been before. Hadn’t been to this place for 30 years. Beautiful renovation, great service, terrific food. The staff was in a fun mood the day we were there, casual, funky vibe.
Very disappointed. Food was mediocre and service was terrible!
Iconic location in Central Park
Friendly and attentive staff
Excellent food and menu choices
Clean and well maintained facilities
Enjoyed our waitress, Muriel, lovely and professional
It was a great experience. Our server was super friendly and helpful.
Amazing food, service, company and ambiance. Exceptional staff who provided great recommendations. Love.
We were seated late from our reservation and felt very rushed to leave. The staff are ok when it comes to friendliness. They certainly could use some training. The food was ok but for the price could use some improvement. The medium hamburger was nearly raw meat. Never once were we asked if we were satisfied with our food. I stood in line for the bathroom only to hear a waiter tell the cute, young lady behind me where another bathroom was located but didn’t offer me the same information. This restaurant is in a very nice location but seems to have become lax on quality and service.
Didn’t disappoint. Food and service were outstanding and great value as well.
Always a must when we’re in NYC
Went on a whim - had walked past & thought it looked interesting & it didn’t disappoint - splendid service & excellent food and very nice wines. So nice we went back for lunch at the outdoor bar today & just as good !
Good location in the west side of Central Park. Good service and food. A little bit pricey but OK as the location.
I was there for the salsa event and made reservations for 2. The event was outside but no seating available outside. I opted to wait a bit for outside seating . Less than 1/2 HR. we were seated outside enjoying food n drinks. I didn't care for the creaminess of the mushroom pastry . mushrooms have their own distinct flavor and I enjoy them simply sauteed with a lil salt n pepper. Hold the cream please. Overall enjoyed Great Salsa event with much dancing. 💃
The service was exceptional. The food was delicious.
Ambiance better than the food. Service excellent. Overall good experience
