Our appetizer and one entree (Benedict) were excellent as was Creme Brûlée. My Frittata was overcooked or not freshly cooked. It was edible. My husband’s burger was ‘okay.’ Even so, we love a brunch at the Tavern and will be back next trip.
Food is quite expensive, plated nicely but lacks in taste. The short ribs had no flavor at all
Why are hostesses/host’s the most rude and entitled people?
Truly the worst NY experience in my 40 years of visiting: a corporation has taken hold, and is trying to maximize profits. We had a 5 Pam reservation, arrived 20 minutes early, told to go wait at outdoor bar and they will come and get us , at 10 after I went back and they said
the couldn’t find us, they then wanted us to eat outside, but we insisted on inside for quiet, put us at a 2 top, we asked for a 4 top, so we could sit next to each other (at 5:10) there were many empty, but no, they then brought a couple and put them at the 4 top! Right next to us. My “salad” was a mixture of several chopped vegetables with no dressing. Then, ! They brought our bottle of champagne. I had the risotto with lobster pieces, small ish bowl and mediocre at best. The “supervisor “ in our area did the usual, how is everything, but did not wait for a response. Then spent several minutes talking to other supervisors in the garden. The place is beautiful, with its recent makeover, I would on come only to have a drink at the bar.
The sole positive was our server , Max, a future Broadway star, who, did a fine job.
This is the longest review I’ve ever written, I hope it deters some, the need a manager concerned about patrons not profits,
So sad, so disappointed 🥵
Lovely courtyard, great service.
The service was impeccable
Nothing better than having lunch in Central Park on a beautiful day! The staff was so attentive and helpful, they made it a wonderful experience to cap off our trip to New York. Will definitely go again!
Wonderful. Great food. Great service.
Very nice. Las personas muy amables, vivimos una gran experiencia
Perfect for a date, anniversary or birthday! We had a great night!
Beautiful setting. Staff wonderful! Iconic location. Wonderful night in NYC
A peaceful lunch in a beautiful Central Park on a perfect-weather late morning. The best!!!
Great service, food was perfect and desert is absolutely fantastic!
Travel to NYC
Server was difficult. Tavern on the Green cant possible have 1 salad dressing in house. Then he messed up a simple order. Been there at lease 10 times since re-opening (pandemic). Ive yet to be 4 to 5 star impressed but its close to my business so i keep hoping that it gets better.
Lovely, as always. Delicious food. Very good service. One of the attendees at my table wanted to order the lobster risotto. Strangely, the waiter said “ I advise against it, I don’t think you’ll like it”. I asked why. He said “they make the risotto very hard and we are taking it off the menu“. We thought this was very peculiar and couldn’t understand a waiter talking us out of ordering some thing on the menu because it wouldn’t taste good. Anyway, we had a good meal anyway but we all thought that was quite strange.
Good ambiance but the food was blah and that just disappointed us.
I chose Tavern on the Green as the location to have a nice birthday brunch for my sister. Everything was great from the lobster Mac and cheese to the salmon. Service was wonderful as well. Definitely referred this to family and friends and will be going back.
Our waiter was outstanding in several ways. My wife and I had just married and were on our Honnymoon
He two was planning a marriage soon and we had nice time talking with him.
Arrived earlier than planned but hostess was able to accommodate us. Our server, Lindsay from TX, was terrific with explanations of specials and service. A manager even stopped by the table to inquire if everything was as expected. FANTASTIC! Looking forward to the next visit.
Always a favorite. New beef carpaccio dish was incredible.
A most wonderful experience! A great way to close out my birthday weekend!
As visitors to NYC, I thought Tavern might just be a tourist trap, but it turned out to be the nicest ambiance and food of the trip. We loved sitting near the atrium, cozy in the sun-filled space looking out on the park. The trout entree was a generous portion and very delicious. The risotto was perfect. My favorite dish was the roasted fig salad. Service was lovely, so hospitable. This was our last meal of our trip- a perfect finale.
Lovely spot for an anniversary lunch! Highly recommend it.
EXCELLENT FOOD, ATMOSPHERE AND SERVICE OVERLOOKING CENTRAL PARK!
It was mediocre at best
And even though the service was “ok”, it felt “commercial” versus special which you think of when someone says “Tavern on the Green”
Excellent food—loved the cod and side of mushrooms. Lava cake is delicious. We loved our server Emma 3 she was so friendly and attentive. That being said, the ambiance wasn’t great. The indoor dining area is very chilly near the windows in the evening and the noise level is unbearable at times. I measured 86 db with an app on my phone. I wear hearing aids so I’m sensitive to noise and I’m so tired of cacophonous dining rooms where you have to yell at each other. That put a damper on the experience. If I went again it would be for lunch in the outdoor dining area.
Food was good (Maple brined pork chops) ambiance was nice
The place is very pretty. However the noise was unbearable. My ears hurt. Also, the service was slow.
Nice venue, but food lacked flavor. Service was good, but would not go back.
I celebrated my birthday in NY and had dinner at Tavern. I grew up , but
no longer live in NY , but wanted to return post pandemic.
We were seated inside , but had a great view of the park , and as daylight faded and the lights illuminated the outside terrace, we had a great view of that. The food was fabulous, try the roasted fig and arugula salad, and all of the fish dishes were delicious. The birthday cake at the end of dinner was beautiful to look at and tasted great. And the slice was a nice portion size. Service was impeccable, even though the restaurant was booming last evening. Definitely worth a dinner when visiting NY. I remember this restaurant as a kid, and am glad that it has returned as a NY staple
Beautiful for dining outside. Food was fantastic. Extensive drinks menu!
Food and drinks were delicious and the atmosphere is great here
Quintessential NY experience. Spectacular setting and they do everything well. Pricey but not surprising given the setting in the park.
Everything was fantastic!
Everything was wonderful! Can’t wait to come back!!
This place was amazing! Our server, Cooper, was so incredibly helpful since it was our first time there. Best meal we've ever had!
We went for our anniversary and the staff, the food, everything was just perfect. What a great restaurant. Will definitely be back. Thank you for making our night special!!!
