I don't appreciate it when a place advertises itself as participating in Restaurant Week and when you get there says: "Sorry, we decided to end that last week." Something they could have mentioned when they called to confirm the reservation.
Also, we sat ouside and there was no place to put a purse or bag. Thw waiter very nicely pulled up a chair for us. Then, a few minutes later the hostess came by and said we couldn't use that and pulled it back!
We loved it! Perfect weather made for a great night.
It’s not cheap, but we all very much enjoyed our meals.
The ambiance is charming, romantic, inviting.
Everyone needs to dine here at least once!
Best experience yet handsome down in nyc. Pricey but well worth the experience on the park.
Great outdoor setting made the $28 salad worth it. We also had the fish and chips which were very tasty. Staff was very friendly and attentive but it took awhile to get their attention initially.
Everything was great, really enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere
Cool place…disappointing service and disappointing no ribeye steak on menu. Food was just ok…surprising to us…tart was great at the end and it is a very cool place to go…we were just expecting a better time.
We were in New York for our first time and this was recommended to us. We are so glad we decided to eat at this incredible place. Everything was amazing and our food was delicious.
We were seated inside so it was a little noisy. We would have preferred to be outside. Food and service was very good. Nothing to complain on but only compliment.
Having been there along the years, I think it has lost the elegance and the ambiance of the past and has become a normal restaurant in a nice setting.
Food was excellent but we sat in an area with only four tables being used and it took a while for our server to ask us if we wanted anything. Afterwards it took a while for them to bring us our food. Food and drinks were excellent but the service was a little slow.
Tavern on the Green is a superb restaurant. The food was prepared beautifully. The setting is beyond expectation. My granddaughters(16 and 17) were starry eyed. The service was excellent. It was a perfect place for Sunday brunch.
busy and loud but great food and atmosphere, Iconic place.
Superb! The wait staff, atmosphere,service,cocktails
gift shop all will make for a Grand Night out. We had a blast
And our Birthday girl simply thought she was dreaming. But
she was not. A great time was had by all.
Service and food were amazing!
Simply fantastic. Amazing food, wonderful service, perfect atmosphere. You really couldn’t ask for much more.
Such a beautiful dining area. The indoor seating was light And airy and it looked like we outside. Fantastic waitperson, good food. A very memorable NYC experience
Wonderful space. Excellent food and outstanding service. Would definitely go back. Large portion sizes. French toast a must.
Iconic Central Park location still doesn’t disappoint. We were fortunate to snag a coveted outdoor table on a rare cool August day and the service was excellent from the greeting to our server, Thanos. The drinks and food were excellent (meat temps were a bit off, but it didn’t detract from the experience, but I lopped off a star for that one).
So many places live off their reputation and phone it in over the years… it was refreshing to see the experience, service and location still top notch.
Outstanding hostess. Poised, pleasant and extremely welcoming. Waiter was thorough and gracious. Food prompt and tasty. Tables a bit close together indoors. Menu a tad limited.
always great fir brunch on a sunday, the band only starts at noon so book after that if you are looking for live music
Between 6 Adults and 3 Toddlers we weren’t expecting much but the staff was wonderful and everything was so smooth! The only hiccup was that it took quite a while to get the check but other than that the food was great and it was a wonderful family-friendly experience!
I haven’t been there in years. Went for a Birthday brunch. Was very surprised when they presented my guest with a slice of called and plate that said Happy Birthday. She was excited and delighted. Will go back again.
Iconic establishment, delightful food and ambiance.
We always enjoyed Tavern on the Green. This time was a less than average experience. There was a large party over 30 people sitting in the main dining area, very loud , so we could not hear each other at our table; surprised the restaurant does not have a party room.
The food was less than average ; lamb rack was not presented as you would normally expect a lamb rack, with the greens overcooked and bitter. We ordered mushrooms for the table and were excessively salty. Lobster risotto Lacked of flavor and very overpriced for the dish. Needless to say we have had better food at any other restaurant at Hell’s Kitchen for half of the price
Service al always was excellent, and the complimentary bday cake for our celebration was a nice touch.
I would recommend this restaurant for drinks as the service and atmosphere is excellent but go somewhere else for a fine dining experience
Great live music
It was a great evening brought back a lot of memories Service was not great and they should be ashamed serving those disgusting rolls for there prices they should serve warm good rolls.
The ambiance is wonderful and the food very good.
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! This restaurant was recommended by a friend.
Everybody was very nice, helpful and polite!!! We felt very welcoming!!. Especially that my hubby and I were celebrating our 40th Anniversary/
The food was great and the outdoor patio was beautiful. But the music was too loud to permit conversations. Good Covid protections too.
How can anyone not enjoy an iconic NY restaurant, in an iconic setting, Central Park, outdoors on an idyllic summer day...cool and no humidity.
Only problem is we were seated 1 table away from the bandstand, which had a live trio playing for the weekend Brunch crowd. Although the music was old standards, the volume of the drums and horns became quite annoying. The outdoor seating area is not that large that speakers had to be used.
The food was pretty good and with large portions which negated the rather high prices.
Our server Tony was an absolute gem of a waiter.
All in all it was quite a nice experience but would never sit near the bandstand again.
Amazing ambiance and good food .. service was a bit so but make because of capacity crowd .. every table was full
Beautiful location, $30 burger was undercooked.
The outdoor area is beautiful! Love the music for brunch
My cousin and I were celebrating the life of our departed Aunt. The atmosphere was elegant and jazz band lively. Perfect weather to sit outside and brunch was delicious.
Tavern on the Green is a hidden gem. The outdoor space is one of a kind.
We were a family of 6. Two children one of whom was in a high chair. We went for Saturday Brunch. The server and other staff were exceptionally nice. Food came out promptly which is great when you have kids. They have a nice children’s menu. We weren’t rushed. As an added bonus there was live music. It wad just a perfect day weather wise and being outside was wonderful. I had remembered the place being a little stuffy but that’s no longer the case. Just an overall great experience.
Excellent ambiance, premier location. Great service, fabulous food
We loved the ambiance here!! The restaurant is in a great location to Central Park. You can’t go wrong sitting inside or outside. The indoor seating is very beautiful and elegant. The outdoor seating they did a great job at turning a large open patio into private seats using plants and trees!
We had an amazing experience. The food was very good and the service stellar. We enjoyed our dinner outside with live music. A great way to celebrate a birthday. We were treated to complimentary creme brûlée as a birthday treat.
We celebrated my husband's birthday and they could not have been more accommodating
Atmosphere, service and foods were of very high quality.
Our server was very attentive.
Having live music and dancing made it so festive.
The brought a Beautiful happy birthday dessert.
Can not wait to go back again
