We celebrated a birthday just before everything in NYC closed, once again we were very pleased by our time there, worth the visit!!
We loved our experience here and the staff was amazing! They went above and beyond to make our brunch perfect and were very attentive. The atmosphere was lovely and the location couldn’t be beat. A must do in New York!
Exceptional food in a stunning setting with great service
Despite the reservation it took a while to be seated. Food was really good and server Zhanna was awesome. Ambiance wasn’t so special - expected a lot more but it was still nice. Haven’t been there in about 20 years and was expecting more from an iconic landmark place. Food made up for it despite the price.
Sadly this was our last night out to dinner in NYC in March. I am sad to see how many places are still closed and.at least can hold on to the memories of our night there for my husbands 50th.
We had a lovely afternoon dining in the glassed-in area, with a view of Central Park activities nearby. The restaurant was not crowded, the servers attentive, my hamburger was huge, messy, and delicious. A thoroughly great experience! And we split a piece of key lime pie to celebrate Pi Day.
Very nice! Amazing food.
We visited Tavern on the Green for brunch on Saturday morning on the weekend where all Broadway shows were shut down due to the Coronavirus. My daughter and I had flown in from Atlanta to see Hamilton for her birthday which unfortunately didn't happen because of the shut down. We were leaving on Saturday afternoon but decided to try TOTG to see if they were still open. They were, and while they were relatively empty, the service was no less impeccable and the staff no less friendly. In fact, they went above and beyond to give us a wonderful experience, even with everything going on in the world. They even brought out a birthday cake for my ten-year-old! Bravo to everyone for helping turn a bad situation into a memorable experience.
The food was outstanding, presentation was very pleasing, and the servers were attentive. The serving sizes are adequate--portions are neither too big nor small. The prices are high, but it's worth it for a special meal.
Truly a great experience..we always have one meal there when we visit
Bucket list check for the hubby, no need to go back though.
We are visiting NYC and the Tavern has been on my bucket list. It was very nice. Super glad we went. The service was outstanding😀
Must try the octopus salad .... the service and food was wonderful.
Beautiful but a very different look than our first visit to the original Tavern. However the front bar waiting area is comfortable and the time flys with one of their delicious custom cocktails. The pork chop was perfectly cooked and the wine reduction sauce I could have just had a cup and a couple more crusty French rolls and called it even. The extra rich carrot cake was full of flavor praline walnut pieces and a especially tasty cream cheese frosting. And my daughter enjoyed a huge slice of a festive slice of fun fetti birthday cake and ice cream. The staff was articulate, knowledgeable and friendly, graciously taking requested photos and patient enough to continue until we were happy with the right shot. A very pleasant experience and the little gift shop tucked in the corner at the front full of unique toys, gifts and mementos.
My daughter and I enjoyed celebrating our birthdays at Tavern on the Green. It is a special place, the service was delightful, the lobster roll “special” was good, not outstanding , but good. We enjoyed our time there.
We took two of our grandchildren to New York for a special trip and our most memorable dinner was at Tavern on the Green.
Great food, wonderful ambiance and outstanding service. we highly recommend it.
Great visit
Really glad that they opened back up
The food was amazing, our waitress was great, and overall it was a wonderful night out
Great restaurant with beautiful outdoor views and excellent menu. I’ll be back!
Our first trip to NYC ❤️
The setting in Central Park is lovely, but sadly the food is average at best and horribly overpriced. Husband said the lobster risotto was particularly disappointing.
Above all, the temperature in the restaurant was freezing. Even the staff who were moving around were cold, and as seated diners we were uncomfortably cold. Despite requesting that they increase the temperature or even switch the air con off, nothing was done to improve the situation. There are so many great restaurants in NYC, I'd highly recommend you choose one of those instead of this one... Very, very disappointing
Menu was not interesting and was limited. Food was very good.
My experience here was even better than I expected it to be. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful; the food was incredible. The only thing that concerned me was the price of the food, but I now realize compared to every other restaurant in NYC, the prices are actually pretty reasonable. I have no complaints other than the noise. It was just a little hard to hear because of the acoustics inside, but otherwise I’m so happy I got the chance to eat here.
Excellent friendly service and lovely relaxing positive environment. Beautiful dining room with a table overlooking Central Park. I mean, you kinda can't beat it for a classic traditional NYC experience. Highly recommend.
Great food and atmosphere, definitely a staple NYC experience.
Tavern On The Green
Tavern on the Green was once a place for momentous celebrations, where beautifully dressed patrons enjoyed partaking in the lovely experience of dining in Central Park. It was not known for its exceptional food, but for the lovely experience. This Sunday we went for brunch, and boy, have times changed. The atmosphere is still so very pretty (you’re in Central Park). The atmosphere is now very casual, with many patrons dressed in jeans (and even sneakers). The hostesses were friendly and accommodating, and our server was attentive (listened and observed dietary requests) and pleasant. The food was good (salmon or poached eggs with avocado toast) to very good (butternut squash soup). The experience, while not as grand as it once was, was still lovely. The prices are much more reasonable than one would expect for such an iconic dining spot. We enjoyed our Central Park brunch on this beautiful Sunday afternoon, and were pleased with the value and staff. As a native New Yorker, I’m embarrassed to admit that I haven’t been to Tavern on the Green in many years, but I will definitely go back for brunch.
Had been here many times while in college so was excited to revisit. The magic was still there. From the entrance of this iconic landmark to the beautiful glads room, beautiful. The open kitchen was a great touch (I am always a fan of seeing where my food is prepared)!
Service was absolutely on point. Brunch orders delicious- bison burger for me (accommodated gluten-free diet with a bed of lettuce), steak and eggs for my son and breakfast pizza for his friend. We wanted dessert but the meal was so filling.
Loved the experience and will definitely return! Magical experience.
Such a lovely restaurant. Being there 10 years ago and seeing the difference in the interiors is marvelous! The interiors are gorgeous. The service is still classic and remarkable. The food is delicious. One of my all time favorite NY stops.
Beautiful table in the solarium. Wonderful waiter. Delicious lobster Benedict!!!
Our first visit to Tavern on the Green. Booked a hotel on 71st so it was a short walk. The restaurant is beautiful, a great combination of historic brick and glass and lights. Staff was very helpful and the service was attentive and polite. Beef short ribs were tender and delicious, as was the rack of lamb. Chocolate chip cookie brownie was the perfect ending. We left stuffed! Would highly recommend.
The service was phenomenal and the food was delicious - we had the asparagus salad with mustard and baby watercress app, the grilled ocotopus, and for our entrees had the branzino and diver scallops. Everything was delicious. Definitely coming back.
A fun place- I wouldn’t recommend coming here and looking to satisfy all hunger. The eggs Benedict was great.
Was hoping that all the hype was leading to a great experience but it actually did not.
It is a nice place to have brunch but only if you are “lucky” Enough to be seated in the veranda/green house area, the rest is just like an old dining room with less than sleepy service and very regular food.
Small menu leading to a few not exciting dining options.
My recommendation skip the tourist trap and go to a nicer place.
Great place! Very cool ambiance and great food. The only issue was that it was VERY hot where we sat in the glassed in room. If you don’t want to be hot, ask to sit somewhere else. Great view though!
A cozy place filled with details everywhere. The crew is just incredible and willing to give the best experience in the place! I assume they live what they do since dedication and a smile is always available, simply a great place to come back anytime.
Such a great experience, from the moment we walked in - everyone was so friendly, the food arrived quickly and was delicious, the drinks were perfect. Fantastic experience!
Mom’s 60th birthday
Wonderful experience!! I highly recommend Tavern on the Green for anyone visiting NYC! We can’t wait to go back!
Everything was perfect from the food, ambience and our server Francine was lovely! Thank you
