It was great!
The atmosphere was lovely. We were there for the set menu which was good but not outstanding. Our server was not good which was disappointing. For the price I expected much better service.
Awesome! Great service. Eggs Benedict was Amazing!
We had a great time! Food was great and service was lights out. We never felt rushed and had a delightful time!
Our waitress Katherine was amazing - she made our experience that much h better! Food is always solid but the littleneck clams were chewy. It’s a beautiful place a not to miss
Absolutely wonderful. Lauren was an amazing waitress, and the overall dining experience was of the highest quality - as always.
Tavern on the Green was a beautiful setting, decorated for Christmas.
The wait staff were professional and attentive.
The setting, ambiance, service could not have been better.
The food choices available included something that would fit anyone's palate.
Such a wonderful choice for lunch.
The food and ambiance was great but I had made the reservations weeks ago and no one notified me that the entire bar area would be closed for a private party so when a couple of us arrived, we had no place to go for a drink while we waited for our friend. I asked if our table was ready and the hostess said yes. So I asked if our partial party could be seated so that we could order drinks since the bar was closed and she said it wasn't allowed per restaurant policy. Instead we were forced to stand around waiting in the cold foyer. Couldn't they have made an exception this one evening since their bar was closed? Or couldn't they have had a server available to take drink orders while people waited? We have all been here numerous times and love the setting and great food but were all very surprised at the terrible customer service on this visit.
Very festive, wish the bar...or a bar was open as there were multiple parties present. Emily was great as a server
Really good food and very attractive ambiance
We enjoyed a delicious lunch/dinner, the food was delicious. Service, as always, is spot-on. Going to Tavern on the Green, you can be assured you will enjoy your meal and create a lasting memory.
Love this restaurant! My 2nd time to eat there. Is beautiful in the summer and Christmas as well. I think I’ll have to come every time I visit the city!
Quick dinner before the theater and shopping at Columbus square. Need a reservation. The lobster Mac and lobster pot pie were top notch!
Beautiful venue and setting. Seriously cold however where we were sat which we raised with server who made no effort to reseat us in a pretty empty venue at this last sitting. Booked in for last sitting, minimal attention from server who clearly just wanted to finish and stomped off and made a face at the tip we left. Some dishes arrived with either dressings or cheese toppings not listed on menu. One of the party was gluten free which we made a note of when booking - little choice or customisation available, little help from female server.
After 3 years on-off in New York, and enjoying Tavern for summer terrace meals, finally made it there for a Christmas Lunch. What a mistake! Greedy Capitalists had three events going on, staff was visibly tired and overworked , and noise level was atrocious (moving furniture and decorations among guests as they dined). Was almost hit by a moving Christmas Tree. Food was good as always, service less good, and ambience like being in a crazed Christmas factory. Do not go there during Holidays - spirit of Christmas Lost! Me to Tavern: Bah Humbug!
We arrived early for our lunch reservation. So glad we did. It gave us a chance to enjoy some wonderful cocktails and meet the nicest, friendliest staff members. Our first trip did not disappoint, food and all staff was amazing! Will plan on going there every time we’re in NYC.
Great overall experience.. thank you!
We will definitely return
Going to Tavern on the Green during the holidays is a MUST - the decorations, the food, the service. Puts one in a holiday spirit!
It was beautifully. Decorated. My daughter and friend had celebrated their 13th birthdays there. This was their 50th. A beautiful reunion and fond memory revisited. So much has not changed except all of us.
I made a reservation for lunch on December 10. The restaurant was decorated very tastefully in Christmas decor. I was greeted at the door immediately by a friendly staff member. I had a short wait because I was early. I ordered the crab cake, creamed potatoes and sautéed spinach. Each item was prepared deliciously. Presentation was excellent. I did not order any alcohol. The ambiance is lovely. I ate there 20 years ago and had an equally wonderful experience. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are a NYC visitor or resident.
The food was terrible and cold. Way overpriced for TV dinner quality
Wonderful place to come at Xmas time at night. The menu is somewhat limited but can handle most requirements. The service was excellent and everything we had was well prepared.
Becca our server was amazing. She made our first experience there so enjoyable!
Lots of Christmas spirit here! Very cute place!
Our server was wonderful at the bar and at the table. Food was good and big portions.
The atmosphere was festive during the holidays. The food was great, beer (Rodenbach Grand Cru, Flanders Red Ale) was excellent. The waiter was outstanding - knowledgeable and attentive. Had a great time celebrating our 32nd anniversary!
We came all the way from Scotland and choose the tavern for our special Anniversary meal. It did not disappoint it was fantastic from start to finish. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The staff were nothing but professional and attentive we were catered for fantastically. Would highly recommend to anyone who wishes to go.
Beautiful & delicious!
Lovely location, great ambience, great food and drinks - lovely server! Highly recommend
Wonderful experience as it was my first time visiting! Beautiful for the holidays!
Amazing service and amazing food!!
A visit for my birthday and Nicole was our server. She was SO AMAZING!!! She went above and beyond for us and it made my day! I appreciate it so much and as always the food was PHENOMENAL.
The ambience was romantic and festive. Our waiter was knowledgeable and prompt. We had a nice time visiting with the patrons around us. The food was delicious! We had the bone-in ribeye and it was cooked perfectly. Tavern on the Green never disappoints!
Service for the dinner was outstanding. Food was phenomenal. Noise level however was high. For a person like me with hearing issues it was a bit painful. But no issues with food or service
We were sitting at a table where there was a bit of a draft. When we mentioned it, the manager came over and offered to give us our desserts for free. The waitress was very friendly an£ helpful.
One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. I had a reservation for two and waited 20 minutes after my booked reservation before I was finally seated. The restaurant was so loud and dark. Both of us were seated in the bar area where we made our reservation for, becuase we looked at the bar menu ahead of time and liked it best. Once we were seated, our waiter Max M, told us the specials and gave us our menus. After looking over it, we still liked the bar menu we saw online better. When Max M our waiter came back we asked if we could see the bar menu. He told us "No, you can not have that menu here". We were so disappointed so we settled on just an appetizer since the menu really didn't have a good or wide selection of things. Then, an older couple was seated next to us. They happened to be the parents of the singer that night. She came and said hi to them and told them to order off the bar menu. When Max M returned to take their order, they asked if they could have the bar menu. Max M said "Certainly, let me go get that for you". We confronted Max M about this situation when he returned to pick up our tab and said he was "unaware". What a lie. He was trying to get us to spend more money by ordering off the more expensive dinner menu. What an atrocious thing to do. It was so unacceptable and I will never have a good word to say about this restaurant because of his actions. He should be reprimanded by management. I don't recommended this restaurant to anyone.
Excellent as always! And the courtyard decorations were spectacular!
