So beautiful- a must do while in Central Park.
Located in Central Park, this place delivers a beautiful ambiance as well as top rated food. If available, sit outside or inside the atrium. Oysters were fresh, the chicken under a brick delicious as well as the salmon. Nice wine list. Will be back!
The vegetarian dish was bland, just a pile of roasted veggies. With the growing number of vegan diners, you should put more effort into a delicious meal for those who don’t eat meat!
Great location and lovely ambience but food not great quality and very expensive for what it is.
Tavern on the Green is a beautiful restaurant. Beyond it's beauty, I find it to be overpriced and I would more gladly accept that if the food was outstanding but it really wasn't. Our burgers (beef and salmon) lacked flavor. The sides, fries, sweet potato fries and truffle mac and cheese were delicious.
Great place for birthday dinner!
This iconic spot was magical, delicious, and exceeded our expectations! Our server was lacking in warmth and hospitality however, the fabulous host, Vinnie, made up for all that she failed to deliver.
As a New Yorker with out of town guests I was hesitant to go to Tavern on the Green as I know it to be a very touristy place with not particularly outstanding food. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food for brunch and my guests enjoyed themselves.
Gorgeous place with very friendly staff and delicious food!
We had a fabulous time. Our server was Nicole and she was on point. She recommended great dishes and drinks. We did not want to leave. Also stopped at the gift shop on the way out and picked up some goodies. Great experience overall. Will definitely be back soon.
I really enjoy the atmosphere at this restaurant. It beautifully decorated and the food is really good. I look forward to going back soon.
Excellent food, excellent service, great location = delighted customers
Good food in lovely surroundings
Staff very attentive
Tavern on the Green was the perfect spot for a beautiful brunch with my mother & sister. The staff is incredibly friendly and the environment is welcoming! The food was good but could definitely use some upgrades. Due to the name and of course beautiful location the restaurant does not disappoint. However, I wish their food menu items lived up to the hype of its name.
Beautiful setting...we went for brunch and it was fabulous. The staff is amazing, friendly and warm. I cannot wait to go back.
Large group, while they would not seat us all until the late-comer arrived, our service was outstanding. Everyone was happy and well taken care of.
Iconic location, wonderful staff from front to back, great food served with style! Was the perfect choice for our occasion. Can’t wait to return!
Beautiful place to have a meal. Perfect ending to a day in the park. Magicdl
Power went out and no service. Had to wait 45 minutes for them to tell us we had to go home. Bar tender was rude.
There was a massive blackout in the area. We were unable to have a meal. We were celebrating 2 birthdays. We did not have a good experience unfortunately.
Tavern on the Green is always a quintessential New York experience for those initiating to the city. We enjoyed dinner on the gorgeous patio right before the lights went out! Fortunately our server was a pro and able to check us out with an "old school" card runner. The food is a bit drab; the kitchen could certainly be more liberal in their use of salt, herbs and spices.
Great location, great atmosphere, and great food. My wife & I loved it.
Beautiful venue. Food was delicious.
We got seated in the patio, which was beautiful and had live music, for brunch. You are solely paying for the location and ambiance. The food isn’t bad, but it isn’t worth the price. Don’t get the mimosas, they are almost as much as a cocktail so may as well get more alcohol. The place is gorgeous and service good, the food is so-so and way too expensive. I’m glad I went, but don’t plan on coming back.
The food was good, although the sangria was really watered down. Every dessert we tried was excellent! The waitress was great and very accommodating, she helped us surprise my mom for her birthday. I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant when you’re in the city.
We celebrated our 10 yr anniversary here with brunch, from the welcome at the door to our server Max the experience was excellent, the lovely touch of a piece of cake with happy anniversary on the plate was so special.
The only downside was the rim of the table wasn't cleaned properly and sauce/or whatever was spilled got on the top of my dress, I mentioned it to a lady at the exit and she didn't seemed to interested.
Other than that we had a really beautiful brunch
Great spot for brunch. The food was delicious and served promptly. Not an extensive menu but interesting.
The restaurant is beautiful and the servers were kind and attentive. The brunch was good the biscuit and gravy appetizer was good. The eggs Benedict was ok. The strawberry French toast was amazing! All in all a great experience s little pricey but not any more than any other good restaurant in NYC!
Wonderful experience, great food, pleasant atmosphere, enjoyed very much
First of all they are not wheelchair accessible. My wheelchair couldn't even get through the front door. Secondly they would not let my autistic grandson's service dog accompany him even though we had stated with our reservations that we would be having the service dog with us (as well as two people in wheelchairs). We were turned away at the door. We were never given a call back letting us know that they were inaccessible our would not allow the dog every though I did leave a number for them to contact me.
We loved the total experience. The room was so inviting and full of light. Service was fantastic and as a group of 7 longtime friends we were made to feel completely comfortable.
My 2 sister in laws and I spent 3 days in NYC to celebrate our 60th birthdays. All of us born in NY and only 1 of us still resides on LI as we now reside in NC. Wanted a fun but special place to have our birthday lunch before our time together came to a close I chose Tavern on the Green and I’m so very glad we did. Everything was just perfect and Zhanna who was our server was just perfect!!!! Thank you all for such a special memory made.
Great place for a special occasion - magical!
Lovely food, fantastic location. Only reservation - it was because raining biblical rain and when we asked about a cab they suggested walking to the main street to hail one. Front desk staff a little stand offish. Overall a lovely time - more smiles needed though.
Huge disappointment. My husband and I came back to reminisce about returning over 30 years since our first visit. It was ok that we arrived in the pouring rain. It was not ok that we were seated near the bar as the main dining room was booked for a function. There was no indication of this when making reservations. The tables in the bar were much too close. It would have been nice to have our own conversation instead of being in between our neighbors and hearing every word of their inane chatter. Food was ok. Manager was nice enough to comp drinks and dessert, but it did not make up for the seating. Guess ya just can’t go back.
Food and service was incredible. I would highly recommend the birthday cake!
While visiting NYC with our grand daughter, my wife wanted to experience this highly recognized establishment! This is the second time my wife and I have visited the “Tavern on the Green Restaurant”. We were totally disappointed! Although we recognized that this restaurant is under new management, our expectations where high. Instead, we encountered poor service, mediocre cuisine, and “ho-hum” atmosphere. Over priced and disappointing!
Vacation with family.
