What a great setting! In Central Park, great ambience inside, excellent service, good food. One of the best spots to enjoy a lazy afternoon for lunch or brunch.
I took my daughter for her birthday and it was fantastic!! Great service, food, and beautiful. We walked around Central Park first and then enjoyed our meal!!!
Wonderful and relaxing! Will be back next time we are in N Y
We went for Valentine's Day dinner and left really disappointing. The set menu was quite pricey, which is expected for a holiday, but the food was mediocre at best. Each dish was underwhelming. I had the filet main course, which was served with dry, hard potato gratin. I barely touched it. Totally not worth the money.
Place is beautiful, staff very professional and friendly. The food this time was average - I had the chicken cobb salad that was disappointing for the price. Wine was wonderful!
Beautiful restaurant and great food! Definitely recommend!!
Lovely bright restaurant in a wonderful setting.Warm friendly service and delicious food.
Food was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. Fantastic sitting inside eating food looking out over Central Park while snowing.
Delicious meal! Wonderful Service (Laine was fabulous and such a sweet young lady!) Cozy atmosphere!
Best dining experience from a long weekend in New York!
Fantastic evening with great food and ambiance!
My family LOVED the ambiance but there was a friend party seated directly behind us that was extremely rude. The one guest berated the waitress just because he thought he got a milk latte instead of soy. We felt so bad for her. Same guy continued to get up and out of his seat about 15 Times banging into our chairs and hitting us. There were several empty tables that were never taken. I wish the waitress would have moved us.
Love the place, the ambience and the food. Not the cheapest but in the middle of Central Park it could never be could it? :)
Go! It's fantastic !
Fantastic! We had such a wonderful birthday lunch for our friend here on Sunday. The food was wonderful (Steak and Eggs for two of us, and a burger plate as well), and our waiter was top notch, as was the whole experience. We weren't by a window seat, and I wish it was spring so we could have been outdoors, but it was a great experience all around. Definitely should be on your list, and not even too touristy when we were there.
Awesome time. Great food, service & atmosphere for a girls weekend brunch. Remi was our waitress & she was fabulous! The girls had the French toast I had the eggs Benedict! Absolutely delicious!
We brought godson for his 16th birthday and he had a great experience. They even gave him a birthday cake. He was impressed. We’re glad that they gave him a special attnetion
We were in town to see our daughter sing at Carnegie Hall. We've been to NYC many times but had never been to Tavern On The Green before. LOVED IT! Sunday brunch with the family and the restaurant was even able to add one more to our table at the last minute! Everyone loved the food, the atmosphere and the general feel of the venue. Would HIGHLY recommend and we plan on going back when we visit NYC again!
Beautiful setting, excellent food, great service. Will definitely return.
Was charged for a drink I didn’t order! Was taken care of! I wish to have not been seated in the bar but it was crowded! The staff was pleasant and food great!
Brunch with dear old friends for my husband’s special birthday could not have been more pleasant on a brilliant but cold winter Sunday. We had a variety of foods and shared tastes. Everything was delicious. In the two hours we were there we saw 3-4 other birthday celebrations. But it’s so pleasant there I wouldn’t wait for just a special day to go there.
Was our first and it was a fabulous birthday experience wil visit again and recomend always thank you. Tav on the G
What a pleasant way to start the day, brunch at Tavern on the Green! Follow it up with a short walk through Central Park and an afternoon at the Frick Museum, and you have the perfect Sunday.
Excellent breakfast, lovely atmosphere, service fantastic.
Terrific location and good ambiance. Food and service was great.
Everything was great, ambiance and food was amazing.
It was a beautiful setting and delicious food!
Beautiful setting, excellent service, exquisite food!
Surpassed expectations. From the moment we walked in the door and heard the live music, the revolving chandelier over the bar, and the cozy couches by the fireplace, we were completely smitten. Our server was kind, friendly, gracious, welcoming and completely on point all evening. The food was the best we had in New York. It was a stunning, historical venue and the staff lived up to it as well.
Girls show and dinner.
It was my 75th birthday! So my choice was the Tavern. I was not disappointed....everything was so perfect. I really enjoyed my special day ❤️
You must eat here at least once. Wonderful ambiance and service. Food was done with care. A bit too pricey to do more than a couple of times a year.
Our server Lauren was fantastic! She made the entire experience 5 star! She is a great representation of TOG!
TOTG has the most perfect location and the rooms are gorgeous, well lit and make you so happy - till you take that first bite. The food is underwhelming for the place which is such a missed opportunity! The service is great - I feel like I'd love to come again just to sit and have a coffee.
Absolutely perfect and what a beautiful setting
Hasn’t been back for over a decade, and was delighted to find it renewed and revitalized. Lovely environment, superb staff, delicious food and drink. I look forward to many more visits!
Dear Vegetarians/Vegans: If you choose to dine here for dinner, you will not be met with many options. Yes, you can create your own entree by ordering various sides, but in terms of actual specials, TotG leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered the Restaurant Week vegetarian/vegan entree of "Roasted Carrots" and was served a plate of carrots... and only carrots. OK, there was a sprig of rosemary and a weak watercress pesto, but absolutely no sides or anything that could help a plate of carrots actually pass for an entree. It would've been funny if the 500% markup wasn't glaringly obvious. Tried to get some clarification from the waiter when he asked "how is everything?," but he wasn't actually looking for a real answer, so walked away as soon as I started moving my mouth. Appetizer and dessert were good. Ambiance was nice.
We had a great time and the food was amazing. In addition, the service was fantastic.
Went for dinner for nyc Restaurant Week. Was seated near the bar. Thought the the dining area with the view was closed and that’s why we were made to sit right next to the band but it wasn’t... was a little disappointed as we had made special requests during reservations to celebrate our anniversary. Ordered the black bean soup and shrimps for apps - they were ok. Codfish was tasty. The chicken entree was a let down. The cheesecake was amazinggg!!! Server was polite. Overall, maybe the ambience in the other dining room would have made up for the ordinary-tasting food and experience and gotten the Tavern a better rating.
The food isn’t super flavorful. I did the restaurant week menu and the best meals were the appetizer and dessert.
