   The food was only okay I’m afraid. The classic prawn cocktail starter felt like the prawns had been sitting in the glass in a fridge all day. The tips were grey and it was ice cold. The buratta salad was nice but overall the food felt like there was no love. My husband was happy with his fish main. Our waiter Christian was great. Really pleasant helpful and friendly. All the staff were lovely. The decor is a little dated but the building is beautiful. We had a lovely afternoon it was just that the food was a little disappointing

   I haven't been to this New York institution in years, and it was just as magical now as it was then. From Christian's affable and impeccable service to the ambiance and delicious food (the charred filet mignon salad was incredible) and wine, we had a wonderful lunch and cannot wait to come back!

    The chicken was a little dry but the service was good. Beautiful setting. Would have liked a few more options. Overall it was lovely, would have liked to have been seated in a different area with a outdoor view but the room was lovely. Definitely glad we went.

    The entrance was drab with no greeter. We had a very nice experience, a great waiter, the food was delicious and prepared perfectly per our request. Next time in New York will go again.

    Food was really very poor - everything was dry and tasteless. When raiding with the staff the reaction was a real lack of care, and then quite aggressive. Won’t be back

    Birthday lunch for my wife; first-time visitor for me, second for her. Service was great, our meals were outstanding, and the atmosphere was most enjoyable. Would like to consider this visit as the start of a tradition!

    Great ambiance! Only suggestion is don’t allow late reservations if the wait staff is going to push you to order quickly because the kitchen is closing soon.

    Birthday dinner! Provided a free piece of their beautiful birthday cake. Gorgeous place. The dog chase from Ghostbusters was filmed there. So fun!

    Perfect spot for anniversary dinner. Tomahawk steak was wow wow wow. The wait staff was super attentive. Would definitely eat there again on a special occasion.

    One of the best experiences we had in New York. Service from Britinia was outstanding. Nick the manager was fantastic and ran the brigade effortlessly. Food delightful and the pipe band performance for St Patrick’s Day just crowned a great time. Will definitely return.

    We enjoyed our lunch at Tavern. It was St. Patty's Day and the band of bagpipes that surprised us with a performance was so fun! Food is always good and the view out the glass wall in the dining room is special! We will be back.

    Some think of Tavern as a tourist spot. However, the service is impeccable, the views of Central Park amazing, the food is thoughtfully prepared and presented, and the prices for NYC are very reasonable. I don’t think a reasonable person would be disappointed. I highly recommend.

    One of my favorite dinners ever in NYC. My Fillet Mignon was wonderful and the creamed spinach on the side was so good it made my tongue fly up and smack my brains out. And my girlfriend’s salmon is so juicy. It was all very delicious.

    The food is amazing! Hostess was nice and friendly. However we were sat in the hottest corner of the restaurant on a sunny day. We could not enjoy our meal because it was so freaking hot. They need to do something about this corner. I had to take my sweater off and wear my tank top. We were then visited by security since tank tops are not allowed. Then I get charged for two sodas, which is normally fine but there is no ice in the luke warm water they serve so I needed the iced soda to cool off. For over $300 to eat, one should never have to sit through that. Looking back we should have said no, and ate a hotdog from a stand, outside in the air. For how much they charge and for how busy it was, I think they could afford some shades. I've never been so uncomfortable at a meal in my life. An older person or a baby would have died of heat stroke. Waiter (who's name I do not remember, but who's brother works in Arkansas) was not great. At this level I expect a real person, not some fake robot of a person. We were not impressed and he wasn't impressed with being at work apparently. The rat we crossed paths with on the way in should have been our omen to go a different direction.

    A good place to enjoy a special lunch with old friends. The food was excellent. The noise level, while high, was tolerable. We were seated on time and never felt rushed. Next time in NYC, I plan to stop by again.

    Such a beautiful and iconic place. For the price point it would be nice if we were not rushed so hard through our dinner. Literally every two minutes are you ready? Are you ready? Are you ready? I was there during a very important business meeting and we had no problem putting down money, but our server was very pushy between appetizers, ordering and cocktails until I started to get frustrated with her in front of my boss. Besides that I love this place, I live near here and have been many times.

    Celebrated our 25th anniversary and the staff and food were outstanding. The staff especially made our celebration so special. Everyone from the hostesses, coat check, our wait staff, and the manager. So friendly, professional, and attentive. It was wonderful!

    It was a culinary delight. This was one of the best dining experiences I have had. Overlooking Central Park, there was beautiful ambiance and exceptional service, provided by a wonderful, caring staff. I would recommend Tavern on the Green without exception.
