Amazing Food and Service in a beautiful setting.
Very disappointed. Food was mediocre and service was terrible!
Iconic location in Central Park
Friendly and attentive staff
Excellent food and menu choices
Clean and well maintained facilities
Enjoyed our waitress, Muriel, lovely and professional
It was a great experience. Our server was super friendly and helpful.
Amazing food, service, company and ambiance. Exceptional staff who provided great recommendations. Love.
We were seated late from our reservation and felt very rushed to leave. The staff are ok when it comes to friendliness. They certainly could use some training. The food was ok but for the price could use some improvement. The medium hamburger was nearly raw meat. Never once were we asked if we were satisfied with our food. I stood in line for the bathroom only to hear a waiter tell the cute, young lady behind me where another bathroom was located but didn’t offer me the same information. This restaurant is in a very nice location but seems to have become lax on quality and service.
Didn’t disappoint. Food and service were outstanding and great value as well.
Always a must when we’re in NYC
Went on a whim - had walked past & thought it looked interesting & it didn’t disappoint - splendid service & excellent food and very nice wines. So nice we went back for lunch at the outdoor bar today & just as good !
Good location in the west side of Central Park. Good service and food. A little bit pricey but OK as the location.
I was there for the salsa event and made reservations for 2. The event was outside but no seating available outside. I opted to wait a bit for outside seating . Less than 1/2 HR. we were seated outside enjoying food n drinks. I didn't care for the creaminess of the mushroom pastry . mushrooms have their own distinct flavor and I enjoy them simply sauteed with a lil salt n pepper. Hold the cream please. Overall enjoyed Great Salsa event with much dancing. 💃
The service was exceptional. The food was delicious.
Ambiance better than the food. Service excellent. Overall good experience
A lovely location and a well presented dining room. The restaurant was rather noisy, but it was very busy, so perhaps expected. Fine for large groups, but lacking some of the intimacy for couples dining. Service was excellent, and the food was well prepared and presented.
Outstanding food and atmosphere Our server Lauren was fantastic. Loved sitting outside on a beautiful NYC day with friends having brunch.
I had not been to the restaurant since it reopened
. Missed the chandelier “crystal” room but the remodel was pretty. We took our son and his girlfriend. They had not been before and thought it was beautiful. Food was great and the waitress was sweet and engaging.
Everything about it was superb: the setting, the service, the food, the mood. What a great place for a special occasion.
Great food, just seemed like the waiter was not too happy we dis not spend more money...when we declined to order desert he seemed a bit bothered. Left a poor final impression, otherwise everything else was great.
Tavern on the Green looks great after the renovation. The food was good, not great, but worth the extra cost due to the ambience. Service was good. Wish there had been a more extensive menu for the Sunday Brunch as the waiter refused to modify any of the items on the menu.
Nyc trip with family
Amazing food and ambiance
Wonderful setting for a night out. Thoroughly enjoyable, regardless of the weather, although, if the weather is right, sitting outside in the garden after the lanterns are lit makes the experience a truly magical event.
Tavern on the Green was an outstanding dining experience...wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening! The food was excellent and prepared to perfection, and restaurant staff/team worked in concert to delivery the best dining experience. Our waiter (Scott) was outstanding, personable, and efficient...attention to detail was remarkable. This is a top-tier restaurant we highly recommend.
We were celebrating my 65th bd and everything was perfect! The chef special pumpkin dessert was as excellent as our dinner itself. Thank you for hiring a great staff on every level! The location is icing n the cake!
Excellent & service was really good... I was there for my 20th Anniversary & my wife ‘s Birthday & they took care of us
A Beautiful & Iconic restaurant that’s truly an experience ❤️
It was a beautiful place and the food and drinks were amazing. People came dressed up and dressed like they were hanging out so it’s truly wear as fancy or as athletic-chic as you’d like. The French toast was beautiful and the steak and eggs were yummy. Our drinks were great. Definitely try the match kiwi on the green drink and the sparkling sangria if you go. Our server was so nice and never rushed us. It was our anniversary and they surprised us with cake!
We were crammed into a booth, five adults in four or less corner. Menu good, my daughter and I loved our flatbread with eggs!! Hamburger large, but ok. Atmosphere was outstanding! Would go again!
This place is iconic. We had brunch on a Saturday and it was packed. The management does a great job making sure every table is attended to quickly. It was a casual brunch that more than satisfied us. The smoked salmon was incredible.
Had a lovely lunch with some great friends. It’s a beautiful place and the food was really good. Will go back!
Love the Tavern, but dread its ice-cold Maitre d'. My parents were in town for a visit and I made a reservation for Saturday brunch 4 days in advance, expressly requesting garden seating - the Tavern has live jazz in the garden for weekend brunches. When we got there, the Maitre d' said no garden seating available and gave us the option to either wait or take a table inside. I asked if there was live jazz - that would help determine whether it's worth waiting for the garden. "No jazz today," said the Maitre d', without a hint of apology. Feeling disappointed, I told her that they should note that on the Tavern's website. "We put that on the website this morning," another stone cold reply. I pointed out that that was a little late for people who made reservations in advance. "It is ON the website," the maitre d' gave me a death stare, clearly annoyed. We opted for indoor seating. On the way to our table, we saw several empty tables in the garden - I asked why we could not have one of those tables (garden seating is by request only, so those tables should not be set aside for reservations). The waitress said she didn't know why; the Maitre d' controls the seating plan. Not surprisingly, the Maitre d' put us in the back of the dinning room next to the kitchen, even though there were 7 or 8 empty tables in the front of the room with a view of the garden - we eventually got one of those after another exchange.
The rest of the brunch was perfect, but the experience was marred by the encounter with the Maitre 'd. The Tavern is known for its jazz brunch. When there is no live jazz, the Maitre d', as the face of the restaurant, could offer a simple apology. It is unprofessional to act defensively as if she could do no wrong and it was wrong for the customer to even ask. I also wonder how she determines the seating plan when garden seats are by request only - whose requests get honored? Whose requests get rejected? What is the basis of her discretion?
Great food in an iconic location.
I'm live in NYC so I was concerned it might be touristy with mediocre food. But that was not the case. The food was DELICIOUS. Our waiter was great. They tried to seat us at a bad table, removed from the beauty of the restaurant (we sat outdoors). But I requested they choose a better table and they did. Loved it. Will go back. On a beautiful day in New York, it's the perfect brunch followed by a walk in the park.
I can come only for brunch as they don’t have decent veg/vegan options in their other menus. Brunch is good. But they need to update their offer if they want a wider clientele (maybe they dont..)
Fabulous experience for my niece’s birthday
Fantastic service and food , espectacular place to join with family, friends...
The food was very good and they have the best views. I really enjoyed my surprise birthday cake slice they gave me. It was delicious and very thoughtful of them to deliver it to me. I really enjoyed my lunch with the ladies that day.
