Had an amazing time!! Looking forward to coming back!
Awful. Made a reservation for dinner on Easter. Unaware that there was a price fixe menu, we were sat by patio bar. After seeing the $95 pp price I realize it was a fixed price. We only wanted to try their famous burgers. Our waitress called manager and he rudely asked us to leave. Did not offer the bar service that we later found out was serving bar bites. Gracious hosts and waitress but the management needs retraining.
Absolutely beautiful setting.
Easter and birthday!
Our waiter was superb!!!! Very attentive, but not hovering.
The singer was wonderful and was dressed to match the 40’s repertoire.
We had one night in New York before catching the Queen Mary2, and my husbands wanted to go to Tavern in the Green. Walking through the park to get there was a very nice transform traveling.
This was our first time to dine at the Tavern since it closed several years ago. We had a lovely experience! While the food and drink are pricey, everything we ate and drank - from the Cava to the creme brulee and carrot cake was outstanding.
Our experience at Tavern on the Green was fantastic! Our server was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious! The restaurant is stunning inside - take time to look around at all of the architectural details, light fixtures, etc. I highly recommend this as a stop when you are in NYC!
This was my first time to visit Tavern on the Green and it met all my expectations and more. We originally had bar seating reservations but due to the rainy day, we were fortunate to be moved to the dining room. The service and food were impeccable and the atmosphere is just divine. I highly recommend Tavern on the Green.
Always such fun to have brunch at Tavern on the Green on a rainy Saturday morning in the Spring!
Muy buena! Excelente lugar
Vacation in nyc
Great location, service, food just ok.
Seated five people at a table suited for four people. Service was sub par, the waitress was not attentive or friendly. Food was not good. And staff kept pouring tap water into our glasses of sparkling water....
Flat bread was horrible, soup almost cold
Great server. So helpful with a gluten allergy options.
Gorgeous restaurant. Great service. The grilled artichoke appetizer was AMAZING. I was a bit disappointed with the lobster risotto, but to be fair, I did ask for it without the jalapeño. My husband said the lamb was excellent. This is a perfect place for a special occasion.
Lovely late lunch on the patio, mushroom toast and potato leek soup delicious. Service was great!
It took a while to be seated, but the host came over to apologize and check on us. Our server was lovely and surprised me with a piece of birthday cake and a candle on the house! Second time eating here and can’t wait to go back again!
Beautiful setting, delicious food, generous portions.
What a wonderful time our family had. Great food and service. Allison our server was the best!! Thanks Tavern on the Green. The Armstrong family from California.
Es war eine besonders freundliche und gemütliche Stimmung - wird jetzt unser Fixpunkt bei NY-Besuchen 😃
Waiter (schlop) was amazing as was the man serving bread. Very enjoyable and tasty meal at an iconic place!
We had a wonderful meal here! Loved the food, loved the service! Would definitely go back!
We all enjoyed the food and drinks (they do a great manhattan) but felt rushed to finish so they could turn the table and the menu delivery was a bit garbled as the waitress tried to recall and recommend all dishes
Birthday dinner , as expected simply top of the line. Will go more often, the lobster risotto was delicious.
Great food and service
Haven’t been here in 20 years and it was a wonderful night!
Wasn't bad , but the magical experience and old school hospitality wasn't there . Waited too long for food , had to ask for bread, only given 1 roll , and a portion of our food was forgotten. It wasn't busy at all . Online the dress code said dressy casual, there were people with shorts and sandals on and parents with kids just coming in the use the bathroom off the playground. Kind of a disappointment.
First time to eat here and it was nice. We ate outside and got to listen to a little live music. The food was pretty good; I had the shrimp and grits. The shrimp was a bit dry and the grits were just ok. My husband had French Toast and he said they were great. A very nice place inside and out though.
From the entrance to the bloodymary for Sunday brunch, everything was beautiful! The weather was fabulous and we sat in the glass room overlooking the outside terrace. Our server Joshua S was extremely in-tune to service, and great with the history of the Tavern. Will definitely return on the next trip.
We arrive in time for our reservations but we had to wait 15-20 minutes for a table. In my reservation we requested inside but gave us a table outside. We had to wait again for another table. Our waiter was way to aggressive for us. He asked if we wanted another drink while we still had half in our glass and there were other issues but you get the idea. Each appetizer and main course were good. I mentioned it was a birthday and they provided a slice of cake and a candle which was thoughtful. We were also “compt” on our coffees
We had a delightful brunch at Tavern on the Green. The scrambled eggs and smoked bacon flatbread was delicious and my husband enjoyed the shrimp and grits. Gorgeous day in Central Park so siting on the patio was perfect. It was packed so having a reservation through Open Table was great! Our Server Benjamin was terrific too.
Bloody glorious is how I would describe the two brunches we enjoyed here.
On day 1, we arrived at 9:45 on Saturday and were greeted by a lovely host. We waited in a sitting room area, until our server escorted us to our table next to the large glass windows at the back. Our group ordered Bellinis, appetizers, entrées and a dessert.
Appetizers consisted of figs with assorted greens, honey and goat cheese: perfect way to start a meal. My buddy had the thick cut bacon, which would best be ordered to share and to enjoy at the same time as one of the entrées. Finally, one of us had the biscuit and gravy: not the best I have ever had, the other appetizers were definitely better.
We moved on to entrées and had the eggs Benedict, one with smoked salmon and the other with lobster, and a third person had the brioche French toast. All were smashes, but you can skip the lobster which was out of season. Each of us were delighted with our choices. We even ordered a piece of carrot cake to share, also delicious but definitely over priced.
We had such a good time, we reserved a table again the next day, Sunday at 9:00. Booking was very easy online. Again, the host was lovely, this time a woman who made us feel welcome without being overly bubbly as hostesses can sometimes be. We requested an outdoor table upon arrival and she accommodated us.
We shared 2 appetizers between 3 diners. The potato pancakes (pretentious for latkes) were simply great. Flavourful, fried perfectly and served with sour cream and apple sauce. The portion was just right for an opener but can you ever have enough of a good latke? I ordered the mixed pastry basket which was good but not great.
Our entrées were the shrimp and grits (not bad), bacon & egg flat bread and the avocado salad with poached eggs served on toast (both amazing)
Service was pretty on point, but felt our Saturday waiter started strong and then stopped caring after our entrées arrived. Still a memorable experience.
We visited for Sunday breakfast on our last day in NYC and wanted to book a table for 6, but were unable to, so booked one table for 4 and another for 2. When we arrived, we asked if the tables could be next to each other/put together, which was accommodated without any issues. Our server was Madison, who was friendly and attentive.
The food was excellent.
The half marathon was being run on the day, so there was some noise from that, but it just added to the atmosphere. Overall a great experience and one we would recommend.
Overall dinner was lovely. It took our waiter sometime to come over to the table after we were seated and it was very loud for a Saturday evening, even in the dining room. The food came fast, and our waiter was very accommodating after a slow start, given we had a concert at 8 to attend. The soft shell crab special was amazing...and a big portion. The lamb for one diner was cooked very unevenly, but all other dishes were cooked well and to our liking.
Overpriced tourist trap, extremely disappointed, underwhelmed, did not come close to expectations.
Food was fair, considering the price it was terrible. Best the shut off the sound system, unintelligible noise.
Had the eggs benedict. One egg was almost boiled. Had the second egg been that way I would have been entirely upset. The waiter made us feel rushed and was not welcoming.
Love going to Tavern on the Green. Excellent food and beautiful atmosphere.
