   The food wasn’t anything that I need to go back and get. The waitress wasn’t as polite as she could have been. I think your paying more for the ambiance and the name.

   The Tevern on the Green is a beautiful spot. The outdoors area has a great ambiance about it especially when the sun goes in. There was a live singer with an amazing voice in the background. The only thing I would say that let it down was the temperature, once it dropped it was very cold and made us want to leave alot sooner then we had planned. One of us was vegan and there were very limited choices. The vegan main was quite bland.

   We had an absolutely lovely luncheon at Tavern on the Green. The bar and dining room were elegant, with tasteful decor. The food was excellent and the service couldn’t have been better.

   I am sorry to say this classic restaurant no longer lives up to the name. Service was friendly but spotty; perhaps our waitress was overworked as the restaurant was busy. But the food…. A fig appetizer had great potential but not enough figs and rubbery prosciutto. Rack of lamb ordered med/rare came out well done with a side of very bland polenta. The staff was very cooperative when it was sent back and a tasty crab cocktail substituted with no issue. Shrimp cocktail was fresh but a little chewy. Took forever to get the check. We won’t be going back anytime soon.

   Wonderful venue for a birthday celebration. Staff provided outstanding service. The food was delicious and courses were paced very well. I had a bird's eye view of the kitchen and was truly impressed by the orchestration of the kitchen staff. The Tavern on the Green is impressive for maintaining such excellence for so long!     Pleasantly surprised with this beautiful and well maintained place! Thought it would be touristy, but the atmosphere and well portioned food was great. Service was great by hostesses, waiter Jose, and manager Amanda, who checked in on us serveral times during our meal. That was a nice touch. I was a little anxious about my fussy family when I made reservations, but they all totally enjoyed the experience as well. Thank you all!

    I recall dining at Tavern on the Green years ago, and I thought it to be a bit mediocre, touristy and overpriced. Then it closed, and the current Tavern on the Green is truly fantastic. Exceptional environment, both in the tavern section as well as the terrace. Service was very accommodating and the food excellent. It’s still expensive, but not out of line for New York.

    Horrible service. Waiters changed on us a few times during the meal and the restaurant was half empty. Made us wait. Forgot side dishes, forgot silverware, very poor service.

    A nice way to treat yourself while walking through Central Park is a visit to Tavern on the Green! Outdoor seating could get nippy as there weren’t any overhead heaters, but the glass room restaurant section has a beautiful view and felt like being outside. It’s a nice place for the ambience and experience of being in Central Park, more than for its food.

    The wait staff was great. Our appetizer was an artichoke & it was pretty good. We had the special tomahawk ribeye for 2. The steak was tough & the broccoli was cold. On the 3rd try we finally got a bottle of wine because they were out of the 1st & the 2nd choice. By the time we finally got the wine we were nearly finished w our meh meal. This was a bucket list restaurant. I’m glad we were able to go but will definitely not be back.

    Haven’t been back for so long and understand it’s under new ownership. Overall food was ok. Shrimp app was good but our entrees (chicken and short rib) were bland with hardly any seasoning. Anyway, not the same tavern as I remembered it.

    The bread was burned as was the three small pieces of lamb chop that I was given for 58 dollars. They have to be kidding. My glass of wine and the desert were the only edible things. Tavern on the green used to be colorful and baroque. What turned it into a monotone grey The whole thing was a very overpriced disappointment Maureen

    This was the perfect place to take my parents for brunch. The food and drinks were excellent. Lindsay our server was phenomenal! Kind, and very attentive even though she was taking care of so many tables.

    We enjoyed a lovely celebration brunch at Tavern on the Green! Beautifully decorated inside. Our table was perfectly situated in the glass-enclosed area overlooking the outdoor seating areas. Our server was fantastic, food was terrific, and definitely would visit again!

    The bacon and shrimp on the appetizer menu are absolutely incredible!!! Either the kitchen and/or our waitress forgot about our biscuits and gravy order but it was eventually remedied

    Our brunch was very good — I enjoyed the classic eggs Benedict again, which I had previously, and it was very good. The Central Park Sour cocktail was a nice way to kick off brunch, and for dessert I enjoyed a glass of the Tokaji which hit just right. It was wonderful to return to Tavern on the Green, and I look forward to a future visit.

    Tables positioned too close to each other. Ordered the grilled baby octupus but they run out. Ordered oysters (very good), grilled artichokes (super hard! I am Roman so artichokes are part of my cuisine. The leafs were extremely hard plus no condiment had to send it back!); my wife ordered the salmon which she liked and I ordered the sword fish which again was good. Great desserts aswell. The service lacked; had to multiple times request for the same item, better attention needed. Not sure about the room layout, I suggest eating outside and not inside (make sure its warm enough). Not sure I would dine here again it felt very touristy
