We were told to eat at this place since we were staying at The Thompson right across the street.. Very quick walk with my 91 year old mother! Thanks so much
I got the Prime burger with egg in it. Egg was supposed to be over-easy and it was served fried. This is the 3rd time this has happened to me in past 6 weeks at Tavern on Rush. And they could care less.
Use to love this place. Lobster bisque tastes like flour. Perhaps if they saluted Rou a bit longer with the spices would help. Husband and I Ordered the dry aged rib eye Medium. Came back rare. Asked to please cook to medium. Came back charred. :( as far as seasoning goes... no flavor other than charred. So Disappointed. There oyster Rockefeller was delicious. No longer worth the hour drive.
My favorite restaurant in Chicago. ! Benny is a Gem! Being able to sit outside is Chicago in January under patio heaters is a real treat!
Excellent food. Great value. Will definitely come again.
Service and food were both great! Very festive atmosphere for New Years Eve.
Service, ambience, and food was delicious. We had a perfect evening
Waiter was slow. We had a larger group, he forgot to put my meal in. By the time he finally checked on our table I wasn't going to wait for it. Disappointing.
Food and atmosphere was great.
Fun evening with great food and wonderful service. One of our favorite places in Chicago.
Service and food were excellent. Can’t say much more other than it was a pleasure to be there and experience such a great meal.
Met friends in from out of town for dinner, they walked over from Knickerbocker Hotel. City still decorated in Christmas lights, lovely cocktails at the bar, our table was ready on time. "Q" was an attentive waiter, food delicious. Jambalaya outstanding--generous, huge shrimp, mussels, sausage, etc. Savory & flavorful sauce/rice, without burning your eyes out.
We went thinking it would be a nice place for our kids who were in town for the holiday. The food was very bland, salad salty, and beef ragu tasted like it was out of a can. Sexist photos all over the wall. Generally lack luster. Won't return.
Went there for a 6:15pm reservation that i booked 8 weeks ago. Asked for a window table and they said they were all reserved. We ate and not one of the 12+ window tables were used. They said they choose ahead who gets to sit there and I must have not made that list.
Best Tomato Bisque Soup I had ever tasted!
Our favorite restaurant in the city!
Food always prepared to perfection and outstanding service. The wait staff is professional and well versed in explaining the products and presentation.
See you next time.
Great food-great service
The hostesses upon entry were EXTREMELY RUDE to me in front of my client. They were ready to toss me out before I even had a chance to say I had a reservation. Customer service is not their thing. Luckily the waiter waiting on us was good.
Great dinner menu selections and excellent wine list!
I think this restaurant has a wonderful outdoor cafe in summer which makes up for the mediocre overpriced food. My friend's salmon was overcooked, my whitefish was tasteless and corkscrew pasta boring. Sorry I don't have better things to say and prefer to go to Carmine's next time.
The music was a little bit loud, above conversation level.
Love their brunch. Quality of the food is top notch, great service and a classic setting. Overall solid and an institution. I have been going for over 30 years.
Breakfast with Santa was great. My daughter was excited, which makes me happy. Also the food was great, I loved the fact that we were able to order from the brunch menu.
Fantastic as always! Benny and Jason always take great care of us. The food was great. The bone in Kansas City strip was perfectly cooked and the recommendation for medium because of the bone was spot on! We can’t wait to come back!
Enjoyed the evening. Plenty of great menu options, something for every appetite. Drinks are pricey...but otherwise it’s a decent value.
Server was amazing. Lively, engaging, and great recommendations. Food prep was as promised, and did not disappoint.
My wife and I chose the Tavern for dinner due to proximity to shopping. We were seated upstairs in a low energy area. Downstairs is best for tons of energy. We will request it next time. Food was good. Waiter brought my wife an extra glass of wine when she responded to him “I’m good thanks”. Showed on the bill. We just paid it. All in all, good place. Maybe my expectations were too high.
Clients here for a holiday lunch. The food was good. However, the service was awful. We waited a very long time to even give our order. Drinks did not get refilled until asked. It was disappointing. I will never do a work lunch here again.
Huge array of options. Steaks, sea foods, pastas, soups, salads, sides. Honestly (having been to many area must-experience steak houses), Tavern is tied for first but wins on variety. They are definitely more moderately priced too.
Jason and his team did a great job.
The Steak Oscar and Sea Bass entree’s were outstanding.
Our steaks were amazing! Done perfectly. Wonderful waiter and great overall service. Nice booth seating if available too.
Brunch w Santa
Sat in the bar. Great food. Fantastic bloody Mary’s!
Brunch was awesome and that was one great looking Santa.
Our service by Hayden was fantastic! Very attentive, and personable.
My husband was looking forward to steak, and his meal did not disappoint.
And KUDOS to the restaurant staff. We arrived on a very busy Saturday night at 8:40p for our 8:30p reservation. We were told our wait would still be about 5-10 minutes. After checking at the 15 minute mark, and 25 minute mark we were seated after a 35 min wait. However, the staff made things right. We were given 3 delicious appetizers, and 3 scrumptious desserts FREE to make up for our wait.
We will definitely be back.
Good food. Hostess' could use some training. Server was impersonal, a bit rude.
We came from Michigan and looked over several restaurants and chose yours, place was decorated beautifully loved the atmosphere great staff food was very good all 10 were happy!
