Benny and Jason know how to take care of guests! The food was phenomenal and the service was fantastic. I have been there so many times, I have lost count. I travel all over the country and Tavern is my favorite restaurant. Jason is my go to server. He is the best. And Benny always checks in on us and makes sure we have everything we need. Do yourself a favor and go to Tavern. And be sure to say hi to Benny and ask for Jason. You will not be disappointed.
Vday. Excellent waiter
The food and service are consistently good. I would highly recommend to anyone traveling I chicago.
Food and service good.
The food is good the service is nice the ambiance comfortable the noise could be lesser the prices are what you depend on eating that night overall it’s enjoyable
Our second experience. Went back because the first was outstanding. This one left much to be desired. Valentine’s Day crowd and limited seating. I made reservation way in advance. Tight quarters for dining.
Excellent Services, Excellent Food and A Excellent
Environment to Celebrate My Birthday
Had the fish ka bob special over risotto - perfect - client loved the ambiance
Went for dinner February 9. Went well, until the entrees arrived. That’s when they tried to sicken a member of our party with absolutely raw pork. Does the cook know what an instant read meat thermometer is? Does he/she know how to use it?
Rest of evening uneventful.
Left. 15% tip. Waiter obviously upset. Hint: perhaps he should be more upset with the cook than the clientele. Perhaps he could learn to apologize to the clientele. Perhaps he should bring the recooked food back to the table instead of sending the busboy back with it. Perhaps he could learn how to comp something for the kitchen’s error. Or, perhaps he should find a different profession.
Not sure if this is SOP for this restaurant, but will not return.
Great service snd food! Had a Wonderful waiter and loved our chocolate brownie!!!
Absolutely wonderful experience. Hayden was a well, knowledgeable server. Will be back soon!
Service was top notch and food was tasty, cooked to our specifications and served hot. Will definitely go back.
We went there for my wife’s birthday celebration. The ambience was great people were amazing service was outstanding and food was very delicious. They even gave us a desert as a cake with candle in n it for the birthday girl to blow on the house. I would 100 percent recommend and revisit this place.
Great evening and never disappointed at Tavern on Rush.
Great food and service.
The service was wonderful. I had crab cake,& filet mignon with baked potato and spinach. I had better food I didn't Care to much for the food. I wouldn't go back
This place never disappoints!!
The best creamy spinach. Home made dressings. Great selection of wine. Filet mignon to die for. Delicious dry aged pork chops. Outstanding service.
CaesR salad a little tasteless. Thx
Decided to go for a birthday dinner. We were seated promptly and our server was attentive without being annoying. The restaurant seemed a little busy and the table are set slightly close together. The food was great and they presented a wonderful birthday dessert. I will absolutely be going back!
Amazing service and a great atmosphere! I would definitely go back again!
Very fun upscale bar and restaurant. Definitely recommend the seafood tower. They don't skimp!! Great atmosphere at an excellent location!
Tavern has become a staple for fine casual dining for both friends and family.
Very disappointed, food was terrible.
We were told to eat at this place since we were staying at The Thompson right across the street.. Very quick walk with my 91 year old mother! Thanks so much
I got the Prime burger with egg in it. Egg was supposed to be over-easy and it was served fried. This is the 3rd time this has happened to me in past 6 weeks at Tavern on Rush. And they could care less.
Use to love this place. Lobster bisque tastes like flour. Perhaps if they saluted Rou a bit longer with the spices would help. Husband and I Ordered the dry aged rib eye Medium. Came back rare. Asked to please cook to medium. Came back charred. :( as far as seasoning goes... no flavor other than charred. So Disappointed. There oyster Rockefeller was delicious. No longer worth the hour drive.
My favorite restaurant in Chicago. ! Benny is a Gem! Being able to sit outside is Chicago in January under patio heaters is a real treat!
Excellent food. Great value. Will definitely come again.
Went here for New Years Eve as they had a great menu and offered champagne and party favors. This place is awesome! Got there and they had the downstairs bar decorated with balloons and it was packed. While waiting for our table we were greeted or at least my sister was ...with this guy who danced around her. He was drunk, but that was to be expected for NY's Eve. We waited a good 20 minutes for our table, but once we headed upstairs to the dining room we had to wait another 5 minutes. I started to get a little antsy and think we might have made a bad choice, but once I sat down that all changed. The manager even gave us a big booth, round table seating for the wait. I thought that was nice. We were shocked that they also decorated the dining room with balloons in the ceiling. Our server Jason was great and hilarious! He had us cracking up and every dish he recommended was on point. Their NY Strip is to die for and one of the best I've had. It was a nice size and cooked to perfection. My sister got the Kansas City Strip also recommended by Jason and that was also delicious. Very tender and flavorful. However, the best thing on the menu to me is the Double baked potato. This potato is like no other. It taste great and has chives, grilled onions etc in it. Quite different and big enough to share among-st two or three people. Right before midnight the servers gave everyone party favors and a glass of champagne to toast at midnight. I thought that was cool, especially considering you didn't have to pay extra for it. They were complimentary. The restaurant even stayed open until 1:30am and played soft music for the late stayers. For two people our bill was just a little over 200. They are a little pricey for their steaks, but they are well worth it. Overall, for first timers Tavern on the Rush really impressed me to the point that I will definitely be back.
Service and food were both great! Very festive atmosphere for New Years Eve.
Service, ambience, and food was delicious. We had a perfect evening
Waiter was slow. We had a larger group, he forgot to put my meal in. By the time he finally checked on our table I wasn't going to wait for it. Disappointing.
Food and atmosphere was great.
Fun evening with great food and wonderful service. One of our favorite places in Chicago.
Service and food were excellent. Can’t say much more other than it was a pleasure to be there and experience such a great meal.
Met friends in from out of town for dinner, they walked over from Knickerbocker Hotel. City still decorated in Christmas lights, lovely cocktails at the bar, our table was ready on time. "Q" was an attentive waiter, food delicious. Jambalaya outstanding--generous, huge shrimp, mussels, sausage, etc. Savory & flavorful sauce/rice, without burning your eyes out.
We went thinking it would be a nice place for our kids who were in town for the holiday. The food was very bland, salad salty, and beef ragu tasted like it was out of a can. Sexist photos all over the wall. Generally lack luster. Won't return.
Went there for a 6:15pm reservation that i booked 8 weeks ago. Asked for a window table and they said they were all reserved. We ate and not one of the 12+ window tables were used. They said they choose ahead who gets to sit there and I must have not made that list.
Best Tomato Bisque Soup I had ever tasted!
