   Great dinner at TOK. Love your food and restaurant. Only suggestion is put in some sound dampening panels to lower the volume of your open air facility. It is quite loud and hard to hear while conversing with a guest. R~

   Sorry to say, service was very poor and the steak stroganoff had zero seasoning in the "creamy" pasta. The three of us who ordered it had to resort to the salt shaker to add a little flavor to the flavorless dish. Plates were never cleared from the table from appetizer salads. We had been looking forward to this meal for quite a while, to treat some of our neighbors who had helped us in an emergency. All in all very disappointing.

   This is our go-to place because of the amazing menu and exceptional service. We have been dining at Tavern on Kruse for several years and it remains consistently excellent. Would recommend for brunch, happy hour and dinner.

   Despite having a reservation, our table was not "ready yet," which required two staff people to prepare the table. The table was still damp when we were seated. There was an army of ants on the floor around food which had apparently fallen from the table but which had not been cleaned up. Not a great start. Took a while for the server to approach our table the first time. After that, she was okay. The food was alright but nothing special. A steak for $87? Definitely an outlier on the menu. We did not order it. Wine sold only by the glass, but not by the bottle. Can't say I've run across that before.

   Food was OK, but the bread on the chicken club and bun on the burger were verging on stale....garlic rosemary fries were OK , but used to be better, service was friendly and attentive, just lagged a bit as the shift ended.

   The food was very bland. But the worst part of our experience was that one of the 'managers' Maddie walked over to our table as we were eating dessert, leaned over and said 'Just so you know, this table is reserved for 8:00pm, so you need to be done in an hour'. Never have I had a manager basically tell us to hurry up and get out. When we tried to have a conversation with her, she just got really defensive and did not apologize for insulting us. We finally, just asked her to leave the table. I guess spending $300.00 did not warrant common courtesy. Luckily, our server, was fabulous and did comp our dessert for us.
   

   Tavern on KruseResponded on May 24, 2023Maddie called me after this experience, told me exactly what's above, saying, “I don’t know how I’m supposed to do this without ruining people’s dinners.” My intent was communicating to all the support staff, of whom Maddie is chief, to make sure they tell happy hour walk-in guests when a table was reserved to make sure that our reservations are able to sit on time. I did not mean that people with dinner reservations should be told to “clear out.” I'm sorry and take full responsibility. KL

   I answered a question on reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. I'm not sure why the question is asked. I thought perhaps they would offer the one with a birthday a small scoop of ice cream or a cookie or something. We split a chicken dinner and the menu notes a $2 charge which is fine. However the meal came on one plate accompanied by 2 very small plates for us to split our own meal. Others at our table with a split meal were given a meal actually split onto 2 normal size plates. Not sure why we weren't treated the same. At a minimum we should have received an explanation for the perceived disparate treatment. The hamburgers were done to a point of being burt. The honey chicken tasted ok but was not as good or moist as the last time I had it. It was disappointing that the food and service was as good as I was expecting, especially when we chose this restaurant to celebrate a special occasion and had better experiences here in the past. I was also excited to take my parents who had never been to this restaurant before so I was disappointed they received a burnt hamburger as their first impression. Atmosphere was nice eating outside.

    Perfect for our Mother’s Day breakfast. We reserved a bar top table, but we’re also given the option to dine outside when we arrived. The weather was perfect, so we took advantage of outdoor dining. Food was excellent, even our picky teens enjoyed it! We will be back!

    Worst service I’ve experienced in my entire life. We went for our anniversary and a rare date night. It was ruined by the staff. Something happened to our order so we got to see countless people get seated after us, get food before us and leave. We waited 1 hour and 45 minutes for our entree. No one was checking in. I had to continually flag people down or go to the host stand to ask if our order even existed. I had to ask for bread to hold us over. No one was proactive, they were defensive and our waitress never apologized. There are way too many good restaurants around to waste your time on this one. By the time the food came it wasn’t very good at all. We ate quickly so we could get out of there since we had already been there for close to 2 hours. Don’t waste your time. I’ve had better food at food carts and I didn’t have to wait almost 2 hours for it.

    Bartender server and cocktails were great! Facility is beautiful! Brunch… not so much. Party of 7 and 5 of us reported the food was so cold it wasn’t even kind of warm. Another their quiche was so hot it was almost impossible to eat as it wasn’t allowed time to set up. Only one of us was “it’s okay”. I’ve always wanted to try ToK but it really was a dud when it came to the food. The restaurant really wasn’t busy either, maybe 40%, so I can’t understand how our meals were cold. Not likely to return, unfortunately.

    I figured it was appropriate to make a reservation for myself since I was in the area for business travel. Upon arrival, the server placed me at probably the most undesirable table right near the entrance even though the restaurant was around 15% occupancy when I got there at 5pm. I respectfully requested after being seated for an outdoor seat. The hostess told me there are reservations outside at 6pm, pretty much hinting that I would need to finish my meal / visit within that timeframe. I was cool with it and understood. I ordered their spinach salad with strawberries, walnuts, & chicken breast. To be fully honest, the chicken breast was extremely dry and hardly any dressing. Reminded me of a 1 star Chinese buffet I ate at over 15yrs ago in Nashville that served overly dry chicken breast. After seeing how highly ranked this place was, I had much higher expectations than what I experienced. I never leave negative reviews, but this experience sucked.

    We had an early reservation for lunch, maybe five other tables We waited at least 10 minutes before being approached by wait staff. Waiting on newer arrivals before coming to us after we had to ask a staffer to help us. The lunch Caesar salad was limp and overly dressed. We ordered a bread basket that came when we were nearly done with our lunch

    Every time I dine here, I rate each category very high, and that includes noise level. This rating defines the highest as "energetic" but I want to say that it is beyond reasonable and comfortable. Folks are required to shout to be heard, and with each table following suit, the noise level is absurd, the stress on one's vocal cord is unhealthy, and it is beyond me why we all keep coming back to the wild party flavor of Tavern on cruise.

    This is the first time I’ve eaten at Tavern on Kruse and been disappointed. The brie was starting to congeal and there were two small slices of a baquette to eat the brie & pate. The soup, which I was also looking forward to trying was unremarkable. My colleague said her meal, gnocci, was bland as well. I hope this was a glitch b/c of how busy they were and not a change in standards. In the past, and through the pandemic, this was my favorite restaurant.

    The weather was beautiful and they have a spacious outdoor seating area. I love that I was able to make reservations so we didn’t have to wait for a table. An 11:00 brunch was perfect because it got busier by the time we left. The food was tasty, service was great, and it was so nice to soak up the sun while having brunch. I am grateful that we sat outside, furthest away from the restaurant because the music was obnoxiously loud inside. The distance between our table and the speakers was just right. This was my third time dining outside and it won’t be my last. Tavern on Kruse is a short distance from I-5, has ample parking, and is located inside a shopping area.

    Indifferent server, very limited menu, noisy even though only half-full. We’ve been here 5 or 6 times hoping it will improve as it’s a great setting and convenient parking but they can’t seem to get it together.

    We ended up in bar area It was closed for a private event but eventually opened So we didn’t have a table and we asked to Get a drink served and they said no Yet they were serving other tables etc But would not allow us to get a drink for 20 min I blame the hostess for this When we sat down.     Event was for our anniversary, enjoyed it with another couple. Food and service was outstanding and so was the value for the quality of food. Started with an appetizer and then two cocktails, then four entrees and two desserts and kept it under $200!! I have $17 left on my $200 gift card, so I guess I have to come back and try one of the burgers.

    Note that this is really a bar with a portion of the large single room curtained off for a dining area. The food and service were good, though not outstanding. The noise level was bearable, due to the curtains. Perhaps later in the evening (after happy hour), it may be better.
