Tavern N' Town - Marriott Key West Ratings and Reviews
Even though we live in Key West for several months each year, this was our first visit to Tavern N' Town....but it will not be our last. The ambiance, service and food were outstanding!! The place has a unique air of elegance blended with a casual overtone befitting Key West. We had the grouper and the snapper entrees and both were delicious and well prepared. Shannon, our host, deserves a special shout-out for his friendliness, energy, and expertise handling the reception desk.
This is our first time at this restaurant and we are locals here in Key West for 2 years !!! Went with friends and had a amazing meal and great service. We will definitely go back again and highly recommend to everyone that is looking for a great restaurant.
As always, dinner at Tavern was a delight. The filet mignon was the popular item at our table as 4/5 ordered it--no regrets! It comes with roasted potatoes and asparagus, both done perfectly as were the filets. Superb service, lovely libations, and delicious dinners--a perfect way to enjoy our first get together since Irma.
This is our local "go to" as we live in Stock Island and love the place. Have always had great food and wonderful service. We asked for a table in the main dining room away from the bar and that is what we got. We requested Junior as our server and we got him too:)He is a credit to the company and is always so polite, informative (even has the special of the evening on his personal cell phone to show his guests)
We had lots of fun and many people we knew were also dining on Thursday, August 31st so we spent the entire time catching up with old friends which was lovely too.
One of our all time favorite places to dine.
We arrived early for our reservation and they were very accommodating and seated us. Our dinner was delicious and the wait staff was very nice. The only real issue I've had has been how loud the main room is. They have a pianist, and while the music is good, it's difficult to have a conversation.
Excellent food -- the steaks are fantastic. One complaint: while at the bar before being seated, a few people mentioned the "$19.99 entree/early bird special". When our bill came, we were charged full price. I questioned the waiter, and was told that the special was for "locals only".
We so look forward to dining here over and over again! With food this good and wonderful service, why go elsewhere? Our server Sergey was just wonderful! My husband's birthday prime rib dinner was perfect and the hogfish special that I had was really delicious. Love the quiet elegance of the far back dining room and 2 for one cocktails was the perfect way to end the day Until next time..!
Very disappointed. The last two times now we have gone has left a lot to be desired. Time before last our food sat in the window for over 20 minutes and got cold. This time they brought me the wrong order and the wait staff was nowhere to be found leaving drinks empty for quite some time.
As always, our visit to Tavern 'n' Town was spectacular. Our server, Sergey (who has waited on us in the past) was perfection: attentive, friendly. The attendant on hand, Sergil (?), was very efficient and unobtrusive when clearing off plates and such, or refilling our glasses. The Signature Prime Rib Au Jus was absolutely divine, sheer perfection, as were the asparagus and mashed potatoes! And the homemade ice cream...ah! This was a late celebration of our anniversary and it was a lovely, lovely evening. The host was also worthy of our thanks, as we arrived well before our reservation (having expected a back-up along the way there) and our request to be seated much earlier was warmly accommodated. We absolutely LOVE Tavern n Town and can't wait to return soon!
Amongst all the talk from co-workers about this establishment, it really held up to the hype. My wife and I did this as a date night and were blown away by the professionalism of the staff yet being very warm and paying attention to our wants. the lighting was spectacular, we weren't beat up by tv screens everywhere and lots of lighting. one negative note was the fact it was warm and that could have been the chefs area.... word of advise? get there early. overall 4.5 stars...
As this was one of the pricier restaurants in the area, and being foodies, we expected top notch. Unfortunately, they fell short. Expensive filet was overlooked, Salmon was bland. Hotel was fabulous, pool bar food was fabulous. I think they may just need a better chef! We never mind paying big bucks for great food but this wasn't the case here!
Food was good and prepared at correct temp but service was sub par. We felt like we were ignored the entire time compared to our server's other tables. To put it in perspective, we saw the bread guy more than our server. We wanted to order more food but it got to a point that we just wanted to leave and find desert somewhere else on the island.. Although we kept it quiet from the restaurant, we were there celebrating our engagement from eariler in the day. Very disappointing.
