Tavern N' Town - Marriott Key West Ratings and Reviews
We really enjoyed our dinner before going to the theater the other night. The waiter took our order promptly and was very gracious the whole evening. Our dinner arrived promptly as well and it was perfectly prepared. The portions were generous as well. We even had time for a delicious dessert. We will be back!
This was my third time here and I have not had a bad meal. I split the filet mignon, which melted in my mouth, and scallops over risotto (the special) which was delicious. My husband's fish was very good but his pasta didn't have much flavor. My son enjoyed his lobster, crab and pink shrimp fettuccine.
We always have a wonderful experience when we dine here! The service is fantastic, the drinks are amazing and the food is my favorite on island! Their steaks are so good!! They are always so accommodating, regardless of how big the party, if we bring kids or not, or if we have to make changes to the reservation! This experience was no different! I will 100% return and always recommend to friends, family and tourists! The value is unmatched on the island! Fantastic locals discount before 6:30, free birthday meal and 2/1 happy hour drinks! Perfect for ladies night out, date night or just a fantastic Tuesday! Upscale feel without the upscale price tag!
As a local, I appreciate the fact that Tavern N' Town provides a nice dining experience with special offers, however, this was the worst visit I have experienced there. While we were greeted warmly at the host stand, it seemed a bit of a cluster as folks arriving after us were seated before us, but to be fair we did arrive a few minutes before our reserved time. It went downhill from there. Our waiter, Junior was nice enough, but the service we received was pretty susbstandard. Ordered two cocktails to begin and Prime Rib, knowing that would probably be the quickest option. Got drinks promptly and food came fairly quickly as well, generous portion of Prime Rib, served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Food was tasty, though I thought the mashed potatoes weren't the most appetizing in appearance. Junior checked back and our table was visited by management to see if everything was okay. Guess we should have ordered a second cocktail then, as it was about 15 minutes before we saw anyone again. Bus guy came and cleared plates, packed up leftovers, and still we waited...never ordered a second drink, seems Junior had been double seated and seemed to forget about us....when the check was finally placed, we had been "upsold" on our vodka & tonics to a call brand, thus eliminating the 2-for-1 Happy Hour pricing that is customary. Very disappointed, but after waiting over 15 minutes for the check, just wanted to leave. The place was very loud, oerhaps the overabundance of TV screens is to distract from what was pretty bad dining experience. Not what I expected and didn't do much to make my birthday a happy occasion!
This was our 4th Christmas in Key West and at the Marriott. Tavern and Town is always great. This time we were seated in the “side room “. Just three TVs and no atmosphere like There is in the two main dining rooms. I would definitely not recommend that section as it took away from our Holiday evening experience.
Not impressed. We went based on good reviews. We were not pleased. The french onion soup was very good, however it took a very long time to be served. We took the servers recommendations for entrees... Grouper and Braised bison short rib. Bison was fatty and dry. Grouper was slimy and slightly fishy. Service was very slow.
The restaurant is always busy and the staff work well together however based on the pricing I feel that there should be more staff so that the table is attended to on a more regular basis. We waited at the crowded bar until our table was ready..... 3 of 6 didn't have seats and we couldn't all sit together. The bar tenders were flying, trying to service the bar and the wait staff, I must say that it was very impressive to watch him however this meant that you had to order your drinks well in advance, once seated at the table service was professional and friendly, however there were a number of people responsible for different things, someone poured water, another brought bread, and the waitress took our order and someone else helped her deliver it...... The food was fantastic and the portions were large, I will continue to visit the restaurant for these reasons. Perhaps, an earlier or later reservation might be the answer..... ours was for 7 pm....
We are staying at the Marriott in Key West and love it here. We've had breakfast and dinner at the tavern N' Town. Both meals were very good. We arrived at 6:30 so our waiter made us aware of happy hour two for one drinks which was a value. The restaurant was very loud during happy hour, but the live music was entertaining. The restaurant is very nice however the many TV's give it a sports bar feeling. I didn't see anyone watching them, why have them on during dinner? The restaurant has a good vibe and people appeared to be enjoying conversation. We have events until we leave Key West, otherwise we'd be back to try the tapas.
Drunk prices are ridiculous
Happy hour 2/1,
Margaritas $12.00 so 2 for 1 really a house marg is about 6.00 anywhere
So not really 2 for 1
A stoli elite martini was $35.00
Are you kidding me
Anyway food is good but the drink prices not so much , why we don't go more often
One of the best restaurants in Key West. Have been here many times, and it is consistently outstanding in terms of service, food and ambiance. We always ask for a table in the back as the live music near the bar is not conducive to conversation.
There are many good restaurants in Key West. Most are walkable from home, but this one is worth the drive.
Great restaurant and the food is great as well! We spent Thanksgiving week at the Marriott Beachside Resort, and dined 3 out of 4 nights at Tavern and Town, which included dinner Thanksgiving evening. Had a great time, and each meal was wonderful!
2 standouts were the bartender George, and the waitress Sonja! They were both great! Love the hotel and the restaurant!!
