   The halibut taco appetizer is perfect for 2 people to share - could be a meal for one person. Delicious! Not fried. Grilled, which was healthier and more tasty. Really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts appetizer too - generous portion, enough to share. Service was excellent. We will be back. It’s a nice pub-type atmosphere. Recommended to us by locals. Noise level is high though…

   It seems to be a very family oriented place--people celebrating birthdays, etc. Noisy but the service is outstanding. Our waitress was Rosie and she was great.

   Halibut tacos were bland … no flavor. Hamburger was ok. Tomato-basil soup was just ok. Food was not a wow. Service was just ok. Will not return. Did not receive my open table points.

   Great vibe with incredible atmosphere. I loved the re-purposed floor. We had the cerviche as app and I had the pepper burger and my son had fish and chips. My wife had the wedge salad. All were perfectly prepared and so flavorful. Waiter was attentive and went above and beyond. Three people for 140 is quite reasonable, especially for the quality of food and the service. Awesome cocktail menu too. Reservation was at 7 and they sat us immediately. This seemed like a great time to go because it was busy but starting to clear out a little. I love their green commitment in not giving plastic portion cups of sauces and instead using stainless. Would nightly recommend.

   Amazing food and service! We had a table of 9 celebrating my mom’s 80th birthday. Our waitress was AMAZING. Food was just as amazing. Will definitely make this place our goto when we come to visit.

    Dinner at Tavern is good -the menu covers all the bases, the drinks are good, and the food is very well prepared. Only complaint was the steamed clams, which were a pretty small amount (about a dozen clams), but the broth was so tasty! It’s an appetizer portion, I know, but it could have been maybe 1.5 times the size. Pork chop was good, as was the chicken and a burger. Service was very good.

    It was crowded and disorganized, especially the hostess. The waitress worked hard and stayed cheerful. The wrong order was brought to our table by a second waitress. Our food was slow to come, average in quality, and one plate was shorted on fries that were also limp and cold. Coronado was crowded; we understand post-holiday crowds. I’m not sure Tavern’s management did.

    Clearly it was a very busy night so I get that and give them a bit of a pass. But, the tables outside where we were supposed to sit were a total mess (customers before us really went for it) and it took them a long time to clean them off. Then it took quite a while to take our order and even longer to get the food (45 min - 1 hour). Would consider trying them again on a quieter night.

    Bad food; worse service. The waiter took two of our drink orders (out of six), then he disappeared for 20 minutes without explanation. It took us ages to receive silverware. They brought us out the wrong order at first, and then it took 15 minutes for the rest of the party to receive their entrees. A spoon (for the tomato Basil soup, which was inedibly salty) took another 10 minutes to obtain. The Shishito pepper burger was absolutely bland and unsalted (I guess they had used all the salt in the soup). It was served with limp, room temperature dries. The fish and chips were adequate, but not great. The tomato basil soup was absolutely inedible - we would have sent it back, but by that point we had been there 1.5 hours and just wanted to leave! Avoid. Bad food, bad service. I assume it only survives as it’s in an incredibly busy tourist area. We wished we had gone to the Chipotle next door instead.

    A big shout out to Sydney who made our experience at the Tavern most enjoyable. She and her team were very accommodating getting our family seated with some special needs. We have been to the Tavern a number of times and have always had a great experience. We will be back.

    This is one of my favorite restaurants in Coronado but last night it just was not hitting the mark. The kitchen was extremely backed up and everything that we ordered came out very overcooked. Our server was trying her best to manage a lot of large tables, but she definitely could’ve use some help. I was so disappointed in the pork chop because usually it’s done really well but last night it was majorly overcooked and incredibly dry. The kids hamburgers were also very over cooked and super dry.

    Great bar/restaurant in Coronado and not too expensive all things considered. Place was packed on a Saturday night as you would imagine, and very convenient to go look at the lights and festivities at Hotel Del next door. Wait staff was very nice and attentive given how busy they were. I’ll definitely be back!

    We have the best birthday lunch. Started off with the brussels sprouts which were amazing & then I had to the port sandwich with this sauce that was so delicious. My mom had the pop pie with a light crispy crust. The spicy cucumber marg was the best. I would definitely go back.

    Nice place with reasonable prices. Food was good and so was the service. Only complaint which took my review to a 4 star was that it was cold in the restaurant. Otherwise very tasty. I had fish and chips, generous portion, very crispy! My companions had pot pies, both found them not very filling, but very tasty.

    I don't know if this was an off night in the kitchen. My wife had fish and chips, oil was way too hot as the breading was a very dark brown. I ordered a pork chop, medium done. The inside was bright pink to red near the bone.

    We have been going to the Tavern for many years. All the occasions-birthdays, anniversaries and even Easter. A hidden gem in Coronado. Another hidden gem-the spicy Paloma. Sean/Shawn/Shaun (never know how to spell that name) was our server last night and on other occasions. He is always quick in the recommendations for food and fun. I will admit sometimes tavern can have an “off” night but it seems like it is just that-an “off” night. Times are crazy with staffing and supply chain issues. Things happen. We always return and never regret it.

    Our experience was great! We had a very easy time making the reservations in the morning. We were seated about 5 minutes after check-in. Our waiter, Sean, was amazing. Our food, the Mac n cheese, porterhouse and mashed potatoes were amazing. I would recommend this location to anyone who was visiting Coronado. This is my second time eating at this restaurant and it will not be my last.

    My friend and I had dinner here the evening of Thanksgiving. The food was delicious and the service was great. The only negative comment I have is the portion of the beat salad ordered was comical. I’m only 125 pounds, so I don’t eat a lot to begin with but I finished it in literally 4 bites and it definitely wasn’t worth $11. It was also pointless to complain to the server about it because it was delicious after all, but if you’re very hungry order double. Maybe the kitchen was scaling back because of the holiday and they wanted to ensure they had enough food to go around. Whatever the case may be, I had a pleasant experience and our server was very attentive.
