Fish and chips was the only thing I would recommend. The sliders were dry. Brussel sprouts were too oily. Burger dry. Filet mignon tacos were ok but small portion.

We ordered four dishes. The brussel sprouts were amazing. The rest of her food was just okay. The sliders got better when we asked for some aioli sauce. But before that they were just dry burgers on bread rolls. It was very loud inside even with the windows open.

Loved everything, especially our server. Only one drawback, sliders were disappointing - a little dry and tasteless. Fries, Brussels, wedge, and charcuterie plate all terrific!

Love to eat outside or in one of the booths at this spot. Great happy hour-friendly servers and decent food options. Also-get the lavender lemonade. delicious if you like lavender!!

This place was great for a pre race dinner. Great service and delicious food and drinks. The only issue was the portion size relative to the cost. It was not enough food. We had 12 people and they all said the same thing. Had a great time though. Thank you

Service was good. They were out of an appetizer on the menu and they switched out a draft beer but didn't update the menu. Burger was nearly a slider-size but tasted good. Pork chop overcooked. Risotto undercooked. Salmon a bit dry. Soggy french fries. Three stars only because of the cocktails and service. Keep your expectations low for the food quality.

The halibut taco appetizer is perfect for 2 people to share - could be a meal for one person. Delicious! Not fried. Grilled, which was healthier and more tasty. Really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts appetizer too - generous portion, enough to share. Service was excellent. We will be back. It’s a nice pub-type atmosphere. Recommended to us by locals. Noise level is high though…

It seems to be a very family oriented place--people celebrating birthdays, etc. Noisy but the service is outstanding. Our waitress was Rosie and she was great.

Great vibe with incredible atmosphere. I loved the re-purposed floor. We had the cerviche as app and I had the pepper burger and my son had fish and chips. My wife had the wedge salad. All were perfectly prepared and so flavorful. Waiter was attentive and went above and beyond. Three people for 140 is quite reasonable, especially for the quality of food and the service. Awesome cocktail menu too. Reservation was at 7 and they sat us immediately. This seemed like a great time to go because it was busy but starting to clear out a little. I love their green commitment in not giving plastic portion cups of sauces and instead using stainless. Would nightly recommend.

Amazing food and service! We had a table of 9 celebrating my mom’s 80th birthday. Our waitress was AMAZING. Food was just as amazing. Will definitely make this place our goto when we come to visit.

Dinner at Tavern is good -the menu covers all the bases, the drinks are good, and the food is very well prepared. Only complaint was the steamed clams, which were a pretty small amount (about a dozen clams), but the broth was so tasty! It’s an appetizer portion, I know, but it could have been maybe 1.5 times the size. Pork chop was good, as was the chicken and a burger. Service was very good.

It was crowded and disorganized, especially the hostess. The waitress worked hard and stayed cheerful. The wrong order was brought to our table by a second waitress. Our food was slow to come, average in quality, and one plate was shorted on fries that were also limp and cold. Coronado was crowded; we understand post-holiday crowds. I’m not sure Tavern’s management did.

Clearly it was a very busy night so I get that and give them a bit of a pass. But, the tables outside where we were supposed to sit were a total mess (customers before us really went for it) and it took them a long time to clean them off. Then it took quite a while to take our order and even longer to get the food (45 min - 1 hour). Would consider trying them again on a quieter night.

Bad food; worse service. The waiter took two of our drink orders (out of six), then he disappeared for 20 minutes without explanation. It took us ages to receive silverware. They brought us out the wrong order at first, and then it took 15 minutes for the rest of the party to receive their entrees. A spoon (for the tomato Basil soup, which was inedibly salty) took another 10 minutes to obtain. The Shishito pepper burger was absolutely bland and unsalted (I guess they had used all the salt in the soup). It was served with limp, room temperature dries. The fish and chips were adequate, but not great. The tomato basil soup was absolutely inedible - we would have sent it back, but by that point we had been there 1.5 hours and just wanted to leave! Avoid. Bad food, bad service. I assume it only survives as it’s in an incredibly busy tourist area. We wished we had gone to the Chipotle next door instead.

A big shout out to Sydney who made our experience at the Tavern most enjoyable. She and her team were very accommodating getting our family seated with some special needs. We have been to the Tavern a number of times and have always had a great experience. We will be back.
