Enjoyed a lovely time on the patio with great service from our waiter. The Chicken tacos are particularly tasty!!
Chef Bobby came to our table to answer questions we had posed to our server. Very impressed with the Chef. Food, especially the fish, was excellent. Service was excellent. One of the best fine dining places in the Kansas City area.
We met some friends for dinner and it was fantastic. Great service and great experience overall.
Very unimpressed. Typically the food at Tavern is amazing, this was anything but. My wife, daughter, and I didn’t get to do much for Mother’s Day so I decided to grab a table. We ordered two filets and my daughter had the half chicken. My filet was dry, had little flavor and was slightly over cooked. The demi glacé was barely there and had zero flavor. My wife’s fillet was dry and very over cooked and nearly well done. The potatoes were bland and the asparagus was very thick and woody. My daughter’s chicken was awesome and both the Brie and meatball appetizers were great. I’m not sure what was going one with this meal, but it was a far cry from previous experiences.
Always great. We enjoy this restaurant a lot.
1p reservations and we didn’t get our food until 2:10. We had one server then another. Second server (Madge) was not able to even greet us for 20 minutes, then another 20 before taking our order. Not saying her fault as I don’t know ops wise what was going on but we allowed 90 for our meal and had 20 minutes to eat. When I mentioned this to Madge she simply said had she known we needed to be out by 2:30 she would have hurried but she didn’t know.
Not my problem. She never asked us - when she visited us only twice. AND we thought 90 was long enough. Only when I asked at 2:10 if she could box it up since we all needed to leave did it
Tried the chicken fettuccine with cream sauce. Too little chicken.
Outdoor seating was perfect, weather was perfect (though Tavern didn't have anything to do with that) but Chad was excellent in his service. We enjoyed Bruschetta, glass of their Happy hour wine, then followed with a JAX red blend with simple Steak Salad. They followed with a Birthday dessert, we asked for the mixed berry plate and they stuck the candle in a blueberry. nice touch. Thanks Tavern.
Not our first time, and it never disappoints! Both of our dinners were excellent - no leftovers to take home because it was so good!
Made a lunch reservation for Mother’s Day. The restaurant decided to serve buffet style that day. I had been there before on a Sunday with no buffet. The food was picked over, most of the food choices were breakfast (eggs, bacon, pancakes, potatoes) and not very fresh. No sneeze guards (which I believe is required by law) and serving utensils were very dirty. Restaurant was very loud and service was poor. Overall, a special day was dampened by a bad experience and was not worth anywhere near $65 for two. How can the restaurant feel good about charging that much for substandard buffet.
Mother’s Day!! All three moms had a lovely time:)
Prior experiences were positive, but this one was not so much. Service was slow, the buffet food was not warm. We have had much better experience here.
Overpriced, average food. I was disappointed on Mother's Day.
Excellent in every way!! Great service, wonderful meal
Great service. I had the beef stroganoff and it was delicious. Our server was very attentive and polite.
Good food and good service.
Birthday dessert was a hit!
Excellent food and especially liked the jalapeño margarita, chicken tacos and chocolate cake.
Our wedding anniversary was on a Monday evening, and we wanted a relaxing location with good food to celebrate. Tavern at Mission Farms is that and more.
As always lunch was delicious, service excellent, & the atmosphere very friendly !!
The Tavern is my favorite spot for lunch or dinner! We can always count on it!!!
Love your location, but most of all the people that work there!!! THANKS! Sherryl
Fabulous Derby party
Went for the Derby Party and had a lovely time! Thanks for accommodating us.
Amazing!!!! Everything we ordered from the cocktails, entrees, sides and desserts were delicious. Thank you so much! Our new favorite place!
We will return to this restaurant. Love the atmosphere and location. A little pricey. Probably would not order steak salad again but the clam chowder was super. Can’t beat the powdered sugar donuts. Good service.
Very good food and service. Highly recommend this place.
Love the salads & baked Brie with honey. Definitely will return.
We eat here quite often. We usually experience good food and good service. They are fairly consistent with both of these criteria.
Had the fish tacos, which were great. Service was better than adequate. Look forward to returning
Attention to detail was outstanding. Service was on point, management was there to make sure everything was okay, it was a wonderful meal and good dining experience.
Our daughter and her boyfriend were visiting from out of town, and we had kind of a short time window before they headed out of town. Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed brunch. We have enjoyed Tavern for years but had never done brunch here. They seated us in one of the little alcoves. There was even a space heater in case we were chilly (nice!). Jacob was a super server and offered his tips on his favorite brunch entrees. The Huevos Rancheros were outstanding, as were the short rib dish and the brunch nachos. We also had an order of cinnamon sugar donuts (yum-oh!). Everything arrived quickly, and all of the wait staff were very attentive. Reasonable pricing, especially for Mission Farms. We will definitely be back for brunch again!
The Tavern at Mission Farms is an excellent choice in Overland Park. The food and service are both exceptional. The staff is always very attentive.
Food is always very good at Mission Farms Tavern- with lots of selection. This particular evening the server was not our favorite. Lost count of the number of times he reached over in front of us to take an empty glass or bottle. There were only four of us so not necessary to constantly clear the table - making for our conversation to be interrupted all evening.
We eat here on a regular basis. Menu has good variety-salad, main courses, sandwiches. Cocktails are very good and bar has a deep selection of liquor, wine and beer. Service very friendly, attentive and not overbearing. Food really should be 5 star but kitchen routinely undercooks the steaks. Other than that food is very good.
Always great food & excellent service
The food was unimpressive. I had the steak sandwich, which had more bread than meat and no horseradish as stated on the menu. My wife had the trout which still contained the scales. On top of the fish was very un-ripe tomatoes and parsley that was not even chopped. In order to remove the scales she had to remove all toppings. The manager came over to ask us how our meals were and we very politely told him of the issues, to which he stated “we have had mixed reviews on the trout”. I wish the waitress would have advised us of this prior to ordering. I was surprised the the manager did nothing for us knowing our issues. Lastly, we were also placed in a part of the restaurant with a large table full of loud children, when there was plenty of space elsewhere.
The restaurant has a great look and atmosphere, but due to these issues we will not be back and unfortunately cannot recommend.
Food was disappointing but I’ve had their lunch so I know it’s typically good.
Our waitress was training someone new and they were both fabulous
Breakfast was great in private area
This was our first time at Tavern in Leawood. I was a little skeptical how our experience would unfold since we started off the night waiting over 15 minutes for a table even though we arrived on time for our reservation. Nonetheless, the meal turned out to be really fantastic. We each ordered a wedge, which was delicious. Husband had the pork porterhouse and I had the pork osso bucco - both were incredibly yummy and perfectly cooked and seasoned. We finished our meal with the cherry cobbler which was probably the best dessert we have had in a restaurant in a long time. We have unfortunately had a lot of mediocre "fine dining" meals in the KC/OP area and were pleasantly surprised at how great this meal was. Oh, and the ambiance was great too. Energetic but still had privacy at our table. We will definitely be back.
I noted that this was a birthday but got no response. Trout had too much stuff on top.
Disappointed that they’ve changed the fish tacos.
