Tavern & Table is the dream child of Cecil & Dianne Crowley, Andy Palmer & Jeff Condon. After years of working together on various successful restaurant concepts, they wanted to bring together the very best aspects of fine dining and casual hospitality in a beautiful and comfortable setting. Tavern & Table is more than a restaurant, it was created to be a gathering place where people sit in comfort and share small plates for the table or enjoy a hearty meal. The bartenders know the fine art of cocktail making and their interest in flavor and presentation comes alive in not only in the food but in barrel aged cocktails that are created in-house.

    We have been here many times and had great experiences. I have loved their shrimp and grits in the past and was looking forward to having it again. We went with friends who were visiting from out of town, and I recommended the shrimp and grits and the burnt ends Mac and cheese. Three of us ordered shrimp and grits and the other got the Mac and cheese, which was delicious. However, they have changed the recipe for the shrimp and grits and it was so spicy that it was overwhelming and not enjoyable at all. Nowhere in the description on the menu indicated that it was spicy. We were very disappointed

    We enjoyed brunch! The host was very nice and let us choose a table from three different sections and told us the weather at each section.

    We had cocktails and ordered multiple starters for dinner. The Dynamite Shrimp was outstanding! We ordered a second serving. We were somewhat disappointed with the Crab and Artichoke Dip. Tasty, but not a whole lot of crab or artichoke apparent in the dish. The service was great: our server was very attentive. We arrived early, but before we left the noise level went up significantly.

    Requested a table with a view due to my birthday, was seated instead directly across from the kitchen doors and all the subsequent traffic Food and service were very average. Whole meal that was supposed to be a fun birthday dinner instead took 45 minutes. Won't be back

    Everyone enjoyed their brunch. My husband and I (we are seniors) thought the chairs were too low and soft. We have finally turned into our parents. Next time, we will ask for the hard chairs.

    Service was awesome. Our table outside was great, but it was so loud / noisy we had to yell to hear the person next to us; and it was 12:00. My poke bowl was delicious! I picked there over Waters Edge and Saltwater Cowboys because I was craving their corn bread! Of course, they didn’t have any that day. We settled for the pretzel which was awesome, but it was 50% smaller than the last time I had it. This is one of the best options for a more upscale dining at Shem Creek.
