Tavern & Table
Always one of my favorite restaurants. Smaller menu but the food and service are excellent. We were in the mood for a burger and I selected the Bison Burger. It was delicious
I used to really enjoy this restaurant but they have really gone downhill. Food was not good, tons of kids, no parking, waitress seemed annoyed to have to serve us. It was a let down, and there are too many choices in Charleston to go back somewhere that doesn't measure up!
We enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent.
Food was fine. Wait staff friendly but not particularly attentive. I had shrimp and grits. Good. My companion had the blue crab pesto cavatelli. Too much pesto and no crab flavor. Wouldn’t order again.
Brunch was wonderful! Food was delicious and mimosas were tasty!! I will definitely return!
Austin our server was fantastic, knowledgeable, funny, and super kind! Atmosphere was comfortable, open, and easy to hear yourself talk. Food was ok. Sunset on the dock was beautiful!
Very good, would suggest more menu selection.
I am hoping this was just a bad day. One dish arrived raw, and that was for the toddlers at the table. Two others were cold. The menu could use an update. No issue with the cocktails and chicken wings. Busy at 5:45 PM on a weekday
Beautiful evening and setting to have dinner by the firepit.
Our party of 6 enjoying a business related dinner tried several different entrees and everyone enjoyed them though we thought prices were a bit out of line. Our server was exceptional and she willingly reran our bill when we asked it to be separated only to change our minds and have them all reconsolidated again. She never let on how frustrating that must have been! Great location, decent food, too pricey.
Food was great- service not so good. The hostess is young, on her phone, annoyed we are there. Not the first time we were treated this way. Not good business to have an unfriendly hostess.
I would not recommend for brunch. Not a lot of choices on the menu. I ordered the 2x2x2 and I asked for my eggs to be over medium and they were over hard. No toast. On my reservation I put that it was a special occasion(50th birthday) and it was not mentioned or anything offered to make the meal more of a celebration. For the cost of the brunch I do not feel it was worth it.
Stay away from the 'deviled' eggs which are not deviled at all and are fried. Yuck. Yum for the cinnamon rolls, the sausage bagel sandwich and the brunch burger. The frittata was a bit bland. Drinks were good. Service was excellent.
I ordered the steak and frites. My daughter ordered the salmon salad. I guess I don’t like any sauce on my steak...as I felt the steak would have been better if it wasn’t smothered in sauce. My daughter enjoyed her salad but wished it was a Caesar salad with salmon. We would return but get steak sauce on the side and ask for a Caesar salad with salmon.
Octoberfest and friends having fun! Great night but could not hear the band because they were at the end by the bar in the corner and too quiet
Sat outside - great food - drinks and service!
As always, was a very pleasant evening. Our food was perfect
Our server was wonderful but unfortunately she could not make up for the disappointing food - both in taste and presentation. There were 3 in our party and we ordered 3 different app's and 3 different main dishes. Sadly, all but 1 app was not up to par. It's not an inexpensive restaurant and we expected so much more. Over the course of the last 2 years we have seen the food preparation slip. While Tavern & Table used to be a 'go-to' for us, especially when we had out of town visitors, we have decided it's no longer on our dinner list - but will continue to stop in for a drink at the outside bar.
Great service. Great food. A little loud but not unbearable.
What a great experience! The service was amazing. We were seated right away, drinks were delicious and so were our appetizers! Our server was so sweet and very attentive!
A fun place to have dinner! We will be back. It was somewhat noisy, but their were lots of people there. It’s exactly what I expected. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the view and the food was very good.
The service and ambiance were very good, but I was disappointed with my grouper entree. The sauce was so strong it buried the flavor of the fish, and the fish was not flaky at all. My husband did enjoy his pepperoni flatbread.
My first visit to Tavern and Table was a very pleasant experience. We first had a drink at the outside bar with the view of Shem Creek. We were seated on time and I was very pleased with the ambiance of the restaurant. Our server was attentive and accommodating with requests to change up menu items.
If you like shrimp, you can have a lot of it here!
The restaurant is in a entertainment district across the bay from Old Town Charleston. The food was good, primarily focusing on seafood. The cornbread skillet as well as the oysters were excellent. This area definitely caters to the single and couples crowd.
Hervorragendes Essen und super Ambiente. Preis-Leistung wirklich gut. Werde auf jeden Fall wieder kommen wenn ich mal wieder in Charleston bin.
While the staff and the ambiance was great, unfortunately the food was just OK. I loved sitting along the water and watching the dolphins, but the food was a real bummer. We ordered skillet cornbread, Mac n’ cheese, wings, charcuterie board, bacon jam and the fig flatbread. The wings had a good flavor, the chicken was so slimy. The rest of the food was just basic. Very disappointed. The food looked wonderful but didn’t taste wonderful.
I made a reservation letting them know we were celebrating a birthday and asked for a table for 2 on the patio. When we got there were were told they had a table inside for us because the only outside table was in the direct sun, and since it was near 90 degrees, we were ok with that. They sat us along a wall with several empty tables beside the windows. I asked if we could have a window seat and were told they would have to check. The hostess returned and said no because “the timing wouldn’t work”. Ok.... 45 minutes into our dinner these tables were still empty but whatever.
No salt and pepper on the table, my husband asked for pepper for his chowder and waitress was quick to bring the salt and pepper. The pepper container looked like a grinder. My husband turned it over and turned the top and instead it opened a wide open hole on the top which spilled half the pepper into his soup. Instead of offering to bring a new bowl the waitress just kind of snickered and my husband scraped the pile of pepper off the top as best as he could and ate the rest.
I could go on but bottom line, it’s a very cute place, service was good overall from our waitress but definitely not accommodating by our hostess. With as many places as there are to eat in the Shem Creek area, we probably will not be back.
Barkeeps need to be a little more attentive. When we went to table, waiter had not been alerted that we were seated. Waiter very knowledgeable and engaging.
Charcuterie Board is not worth the $25 price tag. Meat and cheese is low quality and you get such small portions.
Asked for a water view table. Didn't get it. The hostesses were a little standoffish. Like they could care less. The martini was very good. The vodka tonic was not. It was a vodka soda. The price fixe menu option was nice. The swordfish was delicious! But our waiter didn't have a clue what was in it. Shrugged his shoulders, yeah sorry, just got back from vacation.
I got the pork duo and my husband got shrimp and grits - both were delicious! Not as impressed by the appetizer (spicy shrimp) but our meal and service were great. We would definitely go back!
This was just disappointing on so many levels. The server seemed like he didn’t want to be there. We love restaurants and servers, and we understand there is a lot going on, but you have to give at least a modicum of effort. This guy did not. We asked for his favorites and his response was “the fish”. For being ranked as high end, the food was okay, but nothing memorable or inspired. They couldn’t tell us which oysters were which. Im hoping that we just hit a bad night. Try it for yourself and be the judge. We were just disappointed. That’s all.
We decided to go for Restaurant Week, since my husband had never been before. I had been one time for lunch and enjoyed it. I noticed that most of the items on the special menu were on the regular menu. But, I figured that they want you to come back so they must be good. We started with calamari and zucchini and corn fritters. Calamari was good, but the fritters were so spicy I could barely get one down. My pork loin was equally as spicy and rubbery in the middle. My husbands swordfish was over cooked.
Great food and service. A great place for locals to take guests.
The food was pretty good. The environment was better. It was a bit expensive for what we got, but overall really enjoyed and would be back
Great food, service. Atmosphere was nice but noisy.
Great server and food! Didn’t feel rushed although part of our group was running late. Did get a little loud seated beside the bar.
Beautiful location overlooking the creek. Our first visit here, and during restaurant week, so didn’t know what to expect. All three courses were great, portions were satisfactory, and service was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back to try the regular menu!
