Tavern & Table
Not only is the view beautiful and the food delicious, but our service was excellent!
We're locals, so we've dined here countless times. Always a lively atmosphere, gorgeous view of the creek. The last couple times we've been here, though, the food is hit or miss, as is the service. On this visit in particular, our waitress was clearly having a bad night and would barely even answer our questions. She didn't tell us about a single special, though we asked about two from seeing them on the board in the entry. They were out of two beers we requested, then the soft pretzel appetizer and the sauce that is supposed to top the brussels sprouts. The skillet cornbread, which is normally one of our favorites, came out nearly burnt. On the plus side, their bison burger and fries were delicious, as were the fried deviled eggs. We'll likely return at some point, but I'd be hesitant to bring our out of town guests here for fear that the experience would be a 'miss' instead of a 'hit.'
Lovely birthday lunch. Food was great! The sangria was delish.
Food was delicious, beautiful view of Shem Creek, nice atmosphere and great service. Will definitely be back again!
Last few experiences at T&T have been overwhelming average. My latest encountered a terribly disinterested server who really did nothing to help celebrate Mother’s Day
Like so many restaurants, they bring a bottle of tepid water to the table. My husband asked for a glass of ice and received a tumbler half full. Customers, especially in warm weather areas deserve ICE COLD WATER.
Would like to see some of lunch items (Fish and Chips) on dinner menu.
Great Mother’s Day Celebration
Great Mother’s Day Celebration
Loved the tuna dish on your brunch menu . Nice to see a healthy choice
It took a long time for food to come out even though there were several empty tables.
Double grinder was tough and chewy. Sweet potato wedges were raw and hard. Brick chicken was burnt on outside & Dry on inside- no flavor-no sauce. Salad and soup dishes were not removed from the table until our dinner came out. Overly loud. Would never go back or recommend to anyone okay
Awesome time! Server was great. Atmosphere is great even while waiting you have so many options to sit and stand on dock.
Very loud outside, perhaps not a lot can be done about this but we could barely hear ourselves. Three to our party, 2 drinks, bill was $150 for mediocre food and the "experience".
Love the atmosphere, amazing service and great food. For locals and visitors alike T & T never fails.
One of my favorites!
This has become one of our favorite local restaurants. Always a treat!
Living in Myrtle Beach we are accustomed to good seafood and a laid back atmosphere. We decided to stay in Mount Pleasant on this trip over to Charleston and we are so pleased we did. We found Tavern & Table, located right on Shem Creek and made our reservation on line with no problem. We choose to sit inside which was open, rustic and had a comfortable feeling. The outside deck is right on the creek and is much more festive, laid back and you have a birds eye view of the comings and going on the water. We had a window table, so had the best of both locations. Our waiter was courteous and informative and knew the menu. We started with their Chile Garum Wings, a cup of Clam Chowder, the Berry Margarita which was on their blackboard and a Pinot Grigio, The wings were large and had just the right amount of hotness, my chowder came late as they had to make a new batch, so that saying it needed more time for the flavor to go through this fresh batch and the potatoes were a still a bit to crisp for my taste. Will give it a try next time. The “Berry Margarita’ was interesting…I think they used pomegranate, cranberry or maybe elderberry…anyways it will not be one of my favorite Margaritas. Our waiter did ask if I wanted to send it back but I wanted to try something new and said to myself it was probably good for me lol. We ordered the shrimp and grits which were wonderful and the Salmon Salad with lemon vinaigrette. All in all we had a lovely meal in a very nice restaurant and afterwards we strolled around Shem Creek to walk off some of the calories. Thank You Tavern & Table.
As always, amazing service and the food was perfect!
Great evening and service was top shelf
One of my favorite places in Shem Creek to go as well as take visitors when they come to visit Charleston. The kindest waitstaff in the creek
The ambiance, decor, and views were stunning. The restaurant itself is sure to please anyone. The food was acceptable (my salad was drowned in dressing but the salmon was well-prepared) but the service left a lot to be desired. From the time we entered the restaurant and checked in with the host(s) they seemed un-enthused, bordering on rude. Our waitress did not come to our table until we had been there for 10+ minutes, and they were not particularly busy. She did not offer to share the specials or fish of the day with us and when asked, she seemed unsure. We had high hopes but would not return and would not recommend.
Great spot on Shem creek.
Our server was fabulous! Loved all of the Kentucky Derby decorations!
Enjoyed the atmosphere, service and food very much!!
Brunch was excellent. Ate on the porch, nice view of the creek.
Leia was an awesome waitress!! The complimentary dessert for our anniversary was a nice gesture but we felt the food was a little pricey for the quantity and quality that was served. Atmosphere is great though and probably what sells this place to be honest
Great food and atmosphere. The only hiccup was that our waitress forgot to order our appetizers
Great food! Amazing view of Shem Creek! One of the best places to eat in Charleston/Mt. Pleasant!! Highly recommended!!!
This is our favorite restaurant in the world. Food is always amazing, restaurant is beautiful. Can’t beat it.
Food was great and service was excellent. Would highly recommend
A very seldom lunch date without our toddler
Water had contaminants in the bottle and floaters.
Price of entree were too high and small portions.
Out of clam chowder at 6pm limited menu selection
First time visit for me and my husband. We will be back!
Even though they “say” that window tables are not reserved, the hostess was clearly holding them for guests who had not yet arrived. Very frustrating as my reservation was made many weeks in advance and s window table was requested.
The food was great!! Service a little slow. This was the second time in a row that we had slow service. Love the location and ambiance.
Tavern & Table was marketed as having a wonderful sunset view from patio seating or large windows inside with the possibility of seeing dolphins while dining. A large barge complete with porta potty was the view. The restaurant was at the end of the creek and did not offer a view of the sunset. Even if there were dolphins nearby they would not be able to get to the restaurant area. It was a nice restaurant but did not live up to the marketing.
Grilled vegetables were a good starter. The dinner size salad was dry with few toppings. The shrimp and grits were good. The restaurant was full but we found the drinks and food to just be average. It ended up being our least favorite meal of the week.
This was our second visit to Tavern & Table. Our first visit was great and maybe we were just spoiled and expected the second visit to be as good. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. Our waitress seemed very distracted and didn't even go over the specials until we asked. For some reason, our oysters that we ordered with drinks didn't come for quite a while. We went ahead and ordered our meals about 10 mins after the oysters. When we finally asked our waitress where our oysters were, she said she thought they had been delivered to our table...but no. So we waited longer and the oysters finally arrived. Immediately after the oysters were served our meals came. We asked for them to be sent back until we finished our oysters. Not sure what happened. The oysters were great but took too long to come. The meals were ok. I had the steak salad and it tasted like the salad had been sitting in the dressing for a while- it was very soggy... Our waitress did not apologize or seem to even acknowledge that there was an issue with the service. She was very busy, but our waiter the first time was busy too and we didn't have any problems.
Will be a while before we return. There are just too many good places around here to eat to waste time and money on mediocrity.
Our waitress was excellent and our food came out super fast! Very large portions, great value for the money.
They were out of what my husband wanted, and the water pitcher that we got was dirty on the inside
Food and service was not what I would expect at the price range. Outside seating was nice but loud and server disappeared for long stretches of time. Reservations were before 6pm and they were already out of steak... Would not recommend to friends.
