Tavern & Table
Dinner: Nightly: 5:00pm - 10:00pm,
Good was ok, bartenders were rude. Service was slow.
Very good, attentive service. Nice ambiance. Food was average. Overpriced for the quality of the food. Clam chowder had lots of good tasting clams, just a little too thick for our taste -- food starch? Shrimp and grits were okay but not very flavorful -- didn't taste any of the sausage or seasonings -- just plain tasting. The beet salad with yogurt/sherry vinegrette dressing: beets were great but the dressing was just too vinegary and overpowered the other ingredients. Friends had the short ribs which they said were very good. Nice spot on the water, just not of the special quality that we would expect for the prices charged.
We love Tavern and Table but they have changed the recipe for the Fire Roasted Oysters and it directly affects the menu item. I guess due to the complexity of making the sauce takes too much time, and on top of it each oyster was inconsistent. Some had so much chorizo whereas others had next too none. This is the only thing that was disappointing for us at our favorite places on Shem Creek.
Absolutely fabulous! Definitely my favorite spot in Charleston
We enjoyed our meal. Our server Katheryn, suggested great dinners. We will return.
We had a Wonderful anniversary dinner. The atmosphere was perfect the menu is great with so many options of fresh, local and healthy options.
The wings were amazing !!! The only thing I wasn’t thrilled with- was my salad-not a fan of the salmon salad. It was Soooooo overwhelming with lemon - just way to much.
But everything else was perfect !
The quality of food and service has gone down significantly. I have been there two times in 3 weeks and it hasn’t been worth the cost. I really wonder what happened in the last year here.
Great atmosphere. Food was hit or miss. My fish was great but my friend's hamburger was raw! Drinks were really good. Appetizers were good.
A gem! Food was outstanding! Best clam chowder ever and we lived in Cape Cod! Scallops were delicious! Pan seared tuna was fabulous! Our waiter, Leah, was superb - just the right amount of bubbly personality. One negative: the martinis were only half full. Strange! Looking forward to going again!
Fantastic service. Appetizers were very good, entrees were decent but forgettable. Very neat atmosphere.
Great restaurant and one of our favorites when visiting the area. Excellent staff and service.
Love this place. We always come here when we stay in Charleston!! Great ambiance, service and food!!
Went with out of state friends & was pleased to see that Table & Tavern continues to be consistent with their great service & quality food.
One of the few places to actually be on the water and eat, drink and be merry! when guests visit they want to see the water, the boats, the outside views as much as possible. This venue still not my favorite or a place I would choose if not for having guests in town. Food quality, quantity, pairings, for the price are just off to me, but the price is captured in the viewpoint.
Great experience at tavern and table!. They were able to seat us early ahead of our reservation. Only service complaint but more an observation seemed the waitress seemed stretched thin and catered to other tables rather than us. She had to go back to the kitchen and to bring out our full order.
Here to celebrate a BIG birthday. Service was great. Food was good but a tish limited for a low carb experience (Keto, diabetes, etc). Wish it had more seafood being right in Shem Creek. Location is great. No validation for parking garage and parking lot was full.
Sadly disappointed. First place we went on our anniversary trip, and while the view was nice, the food was lackluster. Appetizer had a small piece of plastic in it, which isn’t the end of the world and the dish itself was good. Main course however was what let us down. My pork duo had very good flavors in the vegetables and sauces but the meat wasn’t done well. Wife’s crab cavatelli was buried in too much cheese to be enjoyable. View of the water is nice, but has a cheese bar directly in view across the water. Verdict: not worth the price tag
Tavern and Table was exceptional. Food was delicious, service was impeccable. Highly recommend for a date night, or family dinner out. Water front view and dining is delightful. Will not disappoint. 5⭐️
The food was amazing! It was a great brunch surprise, we knew it was good, but didnt think it was this good! Will definitely be back and will definitely be trying them out for dinner!
Went for October fest. The pretzel (appetizer) was so tough almost unbeatable, the brat was excellent. The other meal was a burger and duck fat fries - both good. The noise level was incredibly loud for the restaurant-at best- 20% full. Server was friendly but service was slow, had to wait on food, drinks, the bill and the change for the bill. Had expected more.
Great patio views of Shem Creek. Great weather made visit perfect.
Well, with our reservation through Open Table, we arrived early and were seated immediately. The waitress was professional, friendly and efficient. The entrees came with time to finish our appetizer. There 3 large flat screens, without the sports bar setting. Both inside and outside dining are very accommodating. Overall, very pleased.
We really enjoyed everything about this place! The service was above and beyond any we had in a long time. Mixed drinks were awesome- try the black and blue mule. The meals were good but I feel the star of the night was the s’more dessert. It was great.
Great food. Great staff. Would definitely come again.
Live in the neighborhood. Do not go out to eat much. Extremely Busy work week, etc and SO tired wanted to go out to have some really good food. I am a vegetarian and ordered the vegetable plate. I received a half an onion (2 different kinds) red peppers, some mushy something? Mushrooms that were overly seasoned in sauce and 3 yellow carrots. It was awful! Worst “vegetable” dish I have ever had. I don’t complain either but husband said something. Nothing was green on the plate. Thinking it would be asparagus or Brussels or broccoli or root veggies. With Farro or something. Again, such a long tiring week, never go out to eat on a weekly basis so a special treat and so upset I wanted to cry but held it together in front of my family. I just wanted a delicious meal and not cook.
I am writing this b/c so don’t want anyone else to be served that “vegetable’ dish.
Absolutely wonderful place to dine! Would definitely return. The staff is upbeat and professional the food was delicious and the ambiance was beautiful! Didn’t get a chance to go outside on the patio but will make sure to do that next time. This is a must visit kind of place!
Pricey but worth it. Great food and service. Good atmosphere but loud.
Excellent meal, beautiful atmosphere. Our waitress didn’t tell us the specials, but was telling all the other tables. Otherwise, service was also very good.
The patio was fabulous. Food was good but overpriced. The ambiance is worth going for
The salmon salad was not up to par! I was expecting a salmon filet atop a salad, but the salmon was almost mushy in small pieces through the salad. Not good at all.
Every employee was friendly and said hello upon walking in. Venue has unique charm with both indoor and outdoor seating. Food was served so quickly we didn't have to wait between courses. Portion sizes are perfect and food was delicious.
Our overall experience at Tavern & Table was pretty good. Was a bit surprised that we weren’t able to get a table until 9pm, because the restaurant is huge and didn’ seem all that busy. Server was really pleasant and attentive. Food was tasty but I’m not sure, there was just something missing for me. I had the beet salad with a side of sweet potatoes-both were tasty but lacked a little pizzazz. My mom and sister both did the pasta dish that was part of the fixed price...again tasty, but kind of boring and I don’t think the food was hot enough. Also I need to mention that three out of four of us woke up with really bad stomach aches! Then again we ate dinner late and I had a lot of beets! 😳Shem Creek is a cool spot and I would most likely return to Tavern & Table for a drink and a snack, and would like to try their outdoor seating.
Great food and atmosphere. Enjoyed the live music on Friday night. The only downfall I experienced was I made the reservation to celebrate my husbands birthday and it was never even acknowledged.
Love Tavern and Table. The black & blue mule is soooooo good.
The overall experience wasn't great for us but the service was good. They were really busy when we went but I made a reservation a week in advanced and they had our table ready but we were the only table in the whole place that didn't have the nice comfy chairs and we felt crowded. I don't know if they overbooked but we for sure had the worst table in the place. My only other complaint is that it was sooo loud. I felt like everyone was yelling which took away from the overall ambiance. The waitress was great though and one of the people at our table ordered a Moscow Mule and the ginger was overwhelming so that waitress took it back and removed it from our bill.
Tavern & Table never disappoints the atmosphere, the scenic view and the food make this restaurant the perfect place for locals and tourists alike. Although the service, and the "Restaurant week" menu were not up to par this time around I still love T&T!!!
Service was rather slow and inconsistent and food not outstanding in any way. We waited a good while to place 1st drink orders but they were brought out fairly quickly as were the appetizers we ordered.
We ordered our main courses with 3 sides but waited and waited for the sides after the meals were brought out. When we finally saw the waitress again and asked about the sides she made excuses and offered to get them right away for us but when I told her just to take them off our bill as our meals were nearly finished she said they’d be at no charge and returned in a few minutes with them. She had to be asked twice about more drinks during this time as well. Later the manager came over and apologized for the side order mixup and said she’d take off “at least half” of the price for the sides as though she was doing us a favor - and this was all that was taken off. In order not to create any more of an issue we didn’t argue over the bill but I will not be returning any time soon. The 4 of us spent over $300 and it was in no way worth it, especially with poor service- Too many great places in Charleston to repeat this experience.
My husband ordered scallops and they were undercooked - raw and cold in the middle. He sent them back and they came back over cooked, go figure. My meal was a pasta dish with crab meat. It was ok but not great. Service and ambiance were wonderful but we were really not impressed with the food.
The service was very good. The food was just OK. I frequent many restaurants in Mt. Pleasant, especially Shem Creek and all of them have better food than this one. My wife's fish came with nothing else, no sides. What kind of dish is that. Two others had pizza, which cost $16 each and it was basically two slices!!! My brother's chicken was burnt to a crisp. My Shrimp and grits was OK but nothing special.
Tavern & Table has a great ambiance. We ordered a few of the small plates to share rather than entrees, and they were all exceptional. The patio overlooks Shem Creek, so it was a perfect beachy vibe and overall a great place for a night out. I will definitely be returning for a full dinner.
