Tavern & Table
Dinner: Nightly: 5:00pm - 10:00pm,
Great food and atmosphere. Enjoyed the live music on Friday night. The only downfall I experienced was I made the reservation to celebrate my husbands birthday and it was never even acknowledged.
Love Tavern and Table. The black & blue mule is soooooo good.
The overall experience wasn't great for us but the service was good. They were really busy when we went but I made a reservation a week in advanced and they had our table ready but we were the only table in the whole place that didn't have the nice comfy chairs and we felt crowded. I don't know if they overbooked but we for sure had the worst table in the place. My only other complaint is that it was sooo loud. I felt like everyone was yelling which took away from the overall ambiance. The waitress was great though and one of the people at our table ordered a Moscow Mule and the ginger was overwhelming so that waitress took it back and removed it from our bill.
Tavern & Table never disappoints the atmosphere, the scenic view and the food make this restaurant the perfect place for locals and tourists alike. Although the service, and the "Restaurant week" menu were not up to par this time around I still love T&T!!!
Service was rather slow and inconsistent and food not outstanding in any way. We waited a good while to place 1st drink orders but they were brought out fairly quickly as were the appetizers we ordered.
We ordered our main courses with 3 sides but waited and waited for the sides after the meals were brought out. When we finally saw the waitress again and asked about the sides she made excuses and offered to get them right away for us but when I told her just to take them off our bill as our meals were nearly finished she said they’d be at no charge and returned in a few minutes with them. She had to be asked twice about more drinks during this time as well. Later the manager came over and apologized for the side order mixup and said she’d take off “at least half” of the price for the sides as though she was doing us a favor - and this was all that was taken off. In order not to create any more of an issue we didn’t argue over the bill but I will not be returning any time soon. The 4 of us spent over $300 and it was in no way worth it, especially with poor service- Too many great places in Charleston to repeat this experience.
My husband ordered scallops and they were undercooked - raw and cold in the middle. He sent them back and they came back over cooked, go figure. My meal was a pasta dish with crab meat. It was ok but not great. Service and ambiance were wonderful but we were really not impressed with the food.
The service was very good. The food was just OK. I frequent many restaurants in Mt. Pleasant, especially Shem Creek and all of them have better food than this one. My wife's fish came with nothing else, no sides. What kind of dish is that. Two others had pizza, which cost $16 each and it was basically two slices!!! My brother's chicken was burnt to a crisp. My Shrimp and grits was OK but nothing special.
Tavern & Table has a great ambiance. We ordered a few of the small plates to share rather than entrees, and they were all exceptional. The patio overlooks Shem Creek, so it was a perfect beachy vibe and overall a great place for a night out. I will definitely be returning for a full dinner.
First time there was a nice experience. Second time horrible. Labor Day weekend possibly didn’t help, no parking, valet MIA, waiter horrible, sat forever waiting for drinks, food was just ok. Was very loud. Won’t return.
Best restaurant on Shem Creek.
The food was great but my service was impeccable. Leah was my server and was attentive and a sweetheart in addition to being very professional. The reservation went off perfectly and I was seated at the agreed upon time.
Celebrating our anniversary in Kiawah SC and dining in Charleston/Mt Pleasant. Staff was great had to wait a little bit for our table but no worries as we asked them to push back reservation due to running late on some things we were doing during the day. Sat outside at the bar to wait - fun atmosphere - live music and TV sports - Food was great service was great - will definitely go back
First seated inside but then moved to an outdoor table which was great. Service and food was great.
Good food and scenic views. Fun atmosphere. Will definitely be back again!
Always make you wait for
We were disappointed in our table placement. We wanted a table near the water windows, and while there were open tables we were told they were not available. The cheeseburger was over cooked & dry.
It's a bit pricey but the food is great. Our server was excellent and we all enjoyed the night.
Lovely location, good food, interesting menu. Eating right on the water watching the boats made for a perfect evening.
I am not prone to giving poor reviews, however, our experience at Tavern and Table was not as it has been in the past. I had the swordfish special, and the rice was so strongly seasoned that is competed with the swordfish instead of complimenting it. My husband had the shrimp and grits, looking forward to it as he has loved it there before. He said the shrimp was perfectly done. The chorizo however appeared dried and flaked on top instead of incorporated into the dish, overwhelming the grits. There is a new chef, do not know if things have changed due to that, or if we just hit a bad night. Too expensive to return again to test it, however! To end on a positive note, the service was wonderful and the view from the restaurant is excellent!
Food was hoorrrible. It used to be good. Must have a new chef or something
Excellent Service. Excellent Meal. Josh is an excellent Manager
The food was wonderful; however, our server was not very attentive, which was a disappointment for a restaurant of this caliber. The service would be the only reason I wouldn't come back. Hopefully our serve was not representative of the typical service at Tavern & Table.
Fried deviled eggs dipping sauce different from 2 days previous- not near as good.
Boiled shrimp previous 2 visits were outstanding-- this visit very average
Disappointing evening on our last night in Charleston, however the staff was excellent!
Excellent service and food. Only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 is because of the noise level which was unfortunate.
The appetizers were good. However, the entrees were bland and not eaten. At almost $35 a plate I expected to be wowed. I honestly had trouble with the crab and pasta dish because of the appearance of the dish itself. I will not go back.
Food was terrible. Brussels sprouts were bland, bison burger was over-cooked, and salmon salad was nothing more than crumbled salmon on a bed of lettuce.
Beautifully decorated interior with a nice view of busy Shem Creek. We ate inside for lunch, but made sure to check the outside patio when we left. They have both an interior bar and a bar overlooking the water. If we weren’t with our kids and family, we would’ve definitely stopped for another lunch cocktail outside. Very nice all around. We’ll definitely stop back in child free for dinner and cocktails.
The grey goose dirty martini tasted horrible as if they used old olive juice. The shrimp and grits chili Mediterranean seasoning on top was wayyy overboard, had ALOT sprinkled on top and just took over the whole plate. My husband had the crab pasta dish which was very bland, not much of a "sauce" on it. It was our 20th anniversary dinner and were really excited to try it. We were disappointed. We are not complainers within the restaurant setting so we said nothing. Paid bill and went on our way. The crab artichoke dip, however was very delicious...so kudos for that
Great as always! We have hosted many visitors here and are they also enjoy Tavern & Table!
The restaurant was beautiful. The server was attentive, helpful and gracious, but the food was less than I expected it to be. The burnt ends Mac & cheese was superb! However the pork duo was tough, and dry. I was extremely disappointed in something that is an entree and a special of the night. Sadly having been an out of town guest, I’ll spend my time and money elsewhere next time.
Here’s a tip... simplify the menu. Quite trying to overdue the simple and yet tasteful recipes. Make a mark with trademark dishes and stick to it. Trying to do too much extra... didn’t work.
First time in and everything was delicious! Had the mushroom flatbread and it was amazing! The beet salad was divine! Will definitely be back! Go and try it!
Perfect location on Shem Creek. Dining on the patio, watching the boats, manatee, dolphins, SUPs, is ideal. New Chef has created a delicious menu. BIG negative is, and always has been service. Clueless hosts, miserable and in-qualified servers, some with MAJOR attitude. Bring out entree before appetizer, told me to “eat fast”! Server had no idea where the oysters were from???? The manager, Emily, came over to apology and listened attentively. Emily comp’d my meal, unnecessary but appreciated. I’d much rather have good service, with servers who know the basics of serving food, without attitude, than a free meal. A shame, as this place could be #1 on Shem...
We love the restaurant but parking last night was absolutely terrible! We tried to valet but was told there was no room left but they recommended we park in parking garage. Trying to leave the parking garage after dinner took THIRTY MINUTES!! Cars were backed up to the second floor. There was only one gate open, the other gate was barricaded closed. Why not have (at least) 2 exit gates open?? We love eating at T & T but the parking situation will make us consider somewhere else with better parking.
Leah was by far the best server, very knowledgeable about the menu & specials, & made our dining experience fantastic! The food was great, as always, and you just can’t beat the atmosphere. We will definitely be back, & hope to be out in Leah’s section, again.
Everything was great! The only thing I would even consider a complaint, would be that ‘happy hour’ drink can’t be ordered from the table- which is odd, but again, everything was amazing and I would recommend!
We had a fantastic meal and time. Tyler and could not have been a better representative for the staff. We are locals and will be dining there frequently throughout the year. Tavern and Table jumped to our top three in the Charleston area.
Do yourself a huge favor and eat here! It's at the top of our list of best Charleston spots after just 1 visit. The atmosphere, service, and food are beyond outstanding!!
The atmosphere was great and the drinks were good, but the Brussels sprouts were well below par (super bitter), the burnt ends were more bbq hash than burnt ends, the geechie boy grits were not described accurately, so not what we expected, and 22 bucks for a scant amount of shrimp and grits is a bit much. There should be more accurate descriptions on the menu so people know what they’re getting.
Burnt End Mac & Cheese and Brussel Sprouts are our go-to favorites. On this particular night, our food was slow to come out of kitchen. Servers were friendly and working hard. Desserts need improvement to be on par with other food and ambiance.
