Tavern & Table Ratings and Reviews
I have eaten at Table and Tavern a number of times and really enjoyed the experience and food. This time was an exception. My firecracker shrimp came out the first time burnt. The second time, there was very little sauce which makes the item. One diner's well done burger came to him rare. I think that there was a shortage in the kitchen, but no excuse in my opinion.
Love this place we just had dinner with friends. enjoyed the Seafood Tower, Wild Mushroom flat bread, snapper and oysters. So much fun day or evening, on shem Creek with all the Shrimp boats.
We also took a group there for lunch, all were from out of town and they loved it
Outside seating was great, they had sufficient heaters even on cold night. Food was amazing from the pretzel pulls to the crab cakes(worth the $ if you are picky with crab cakes like i am) and even the fantastic sides like Brussels sprouts and Mac 'n cheese. Austin our server had all the right answers, great menu knowledge, and staged the meal perfectly. Thanks Austin!
Great food - love the bacon jam pimento cheese app. Scallops were super hot & cooked just how I like them. Our waiter was not the most attentive but overall good service. The restaurant was very loud inside and out so I wouldn't go there looking for romance. Fun bar atmosphere.
The evening was wonderful...it has great ambiance and the food is new and unique even though it sits on Shem Creek. It got full, to include the bar and pizza oven bar but was still open feeling and great. The homemade charcuterie is fabulous and the paired cheeses were great matches...I would def recommend this modern repurposing of a restaurant spot that has been familiar to all familiar with Charleston
Our experience was as expected. We had reservations for three well before the dinner rush time and asked to be seated somewhere different (closer to the windows (since the place was practically empty). Being a former hostess/server, I understand the need for certain tables, groups, reservations, ect. but they seemed to make a much bigger deal than it needed to be which made us uncomfortable. Over all, the food was good, the server was average and the atmosphere was nice, very comfortable seating inside.
We met out of town guests here for dinner. Our food was average at best! I ordered the steak salad with the steak medium, it was rare and the lettuce was terrible. Two people had clam chowder as a starter. Both had to be sent back because they were cold. Without going into every detail, each person's order was either cooked incorrectly, cold or very disappointing.
We will not eat there again.
Went here for the view, but we were late for our lunch reservation and had to sit inside (understandable) so not much of a view from our table but it was very nice. Food was good, enjoyed my Panini and salad. Restaurant was decorated for Halloween in a very cool way, I got some great ideas for my home. Our hotel in Charleston recommended the restaurant after our visit to Boone Plantation in the morning.
Hello, the overall experience at Tavern & Table was good. The service was good, waitstaff attentive. I ordered shrimp and grits but would have to say that I was very disappointed in that entrée. As a resident of Georgetown South Carolina, I am blessed with good local restaurants with a variety of items on the menu. Shrimp and grits is a prevalent dish in Georgetown, Pawleys Island and Murrells Inlet. Your chef can do a lot better on this entrée. Thanks for allowing me an opportunity to express myself on this issue. I will see you again. Best regards, Paul L Yarborough
Tavern and Table is one of our favorite restaurants in the Charleston area. The ambience is enjoyable right on Shem Creek and the building itself is very attractive. The food is excellent, consistent, and good value. The menu selection appeals to every palate. Our server, Anderson, was very attentive and ingratiating. I look forward to returning soon.
Great for either a casual or a bit nicer meal. I had the Double Double burger & my husband had the Burnt end Mac & Cheese. Both were very delicious. Only drawback was the parking, which lacked sufficient spots for both this restaurant & Red's Icehouse next door. Had to drive around 2-3 times till someone left. Had valet parking but not that upscale to warrant having to pay or wait for the car's return. Also had a pay-for parking garage nearby which was not reasonable.
