No coffee for a Sunday brunch. Unacceptable. Manager should have walked to the Starbucks 100ft away and bought a bunch of jugs rather than ruin brunch for patrons.
Food and service was very good. Uncomfortable backless chairs at all tables. That’s my biggest gripe.
Went for Sunday bottomless brunch- we got the hangover pizza & the biscuit stacker. Food was incredible and they were very generous with their pours. Our server & the hostess were so nice and accommodating. Would definitely recommend!
Our team of servers, both named Stephanie, were amazing. We were a little disappointed they weren't able to serve Beignets, the reason we chose to go there.
Endless Mimosas are fantastic...
They literally had nothing we wanted. Brunch ends at 345 andit was 315 so whereas i get running low, do not have brunch open til 345 ifyou cant feed your customers with anything on the brunch menu.
Brunch was great . It was crowded and service was a little slow but other than that it was great
I was impressed with the service, food selection and food quality. Very reasonable brunch unlimited offerings...just a lot of fun, great atmosphere...
Great comfort food and a good atmosphere for a casual Sunday brunch.
I took my boyfriend here for dinner on his birthday and he absolutely loved it. There's candles on the tables so the dinner was romantic. He loved the food, it was so good! He had the duck burger and I had the quesadillas. He also loved the beer. We will definitely be returning.
Although I made a reservation through Open Table they said they don't honor day of reservations.
I have never written a bad review but I want to warn others. There are too many great places in Manhattan to put up with erratic service, lack of ambience and a place that takes themselves too seriously. I can't comment on the food because we saw the handwriting on the wall and wanted to enjoy our meal so we left after a drink.
The heat was broken, so it was freezing inside; we had a reservation but had to wait for our table to get ready; I had to ask for a refill to my unlimited mimosas EVERY TIME- anywhere else I’ve gone to bottomless brunch in the city, the staff is attentive and refill before I finish. Poor service, and mediocre food that was over priced.
Unfortunately, there was only 1 waitress so service was a bit slow. I don’t fault her for that since she had a lot of tables to attend to. Also, happy hour is only from 5-6pm which is a very short window. The food, however was absolutely amazing. The tavern burger was probably the second best burger I’ve had. I highly recommend if you’re a meat eater. The fries were also perfectly crispy and delicious.
We went as a group of four for bottomless service, right at 11 when they opened. We were a few minutes early, and we greeted and treated so nicely by all staff members! Hostess was so kind and welcoming, our server, who was also the bartender, was incredibly kind and attentive. The mimosas and bloody marys were strong and tasty! Our food was delicious and the server was very knowledgeable about the menu. We had 2 hours with the bottomless, and had a great time all around! The bar is beautiful, cozy and seemed like a great escape from busy city life. I would 10/10 recommend to anyone visiting the city! Thank you!
Do not go here on a weekend night . The food and service was very good but the noise level was the loudest I’ve ever heard in a dining/bar establishment. It was deafening. The staff did reseat us to a slightly less ear shattering corner but it was still painful. I’m not sure what kind of a place Tavern 29 wants to be but it’s not a place to go and enjoy a drink and a bite without serious ear damage. Maybe if you’re a drunk Millinnial it’s perfect.(there were enough of them unfortunately ). Really a shame...had my wedding reception here and it was perfect..
very young energetic crowd. loud music. when busy hard to enjoy due to overcrowding.
small serving of wine,
Good pub/tavern menu and good beer selection. Cute seating alcoves alliw for some seperation from bar. It did get alittle loud but not intrusive. Food was tasty!
Good place for a casual meal with good food, great service, and nice atmosphere. I was a little surprised by the high volume of the music at first, but after we got settled it was appropriate.
Food was excellent we had the MAC and cheese deviled eggs and flat bead pizza ask to sit in alcove booths very private
Horrible experience going here for brunch with my boyfriend. Our server Christine was extremely unattentive, we asked for water multiple times and she only refilled our glass once. I was so dehydrated. Our table was getting zero attention. The food was also horrible. The eggs Benedict arepas were so bland and not seasoned with anything. The only thing good about this place was the 1 mimosa I ordered. Yelp reviews are not an accurate representation of this place.
Relaxed roof seating for hanging out. Very pleased with the quality of service we received during brunch
Great rooftop with long tables that can accommodate groups!
Fun rooftop seating. Great location and great service!
Overall - food was good, but service was poor. It took an hour and a half to get (most of) our food, and for some of us it was cold, leading us to believe it was likely sitting and waiting, meanwhile other patrons who arrived and ordered after had already received theirs. One of my friends had to wait an additional 30 minutes to receive his meal.
Lauren was amazing. Chef Roe and the Adobo wings were EVERYTHING!! Tavern 29 was a Sunday funday for sure!
The rooftop could use some work - service up there was exceptionally...slow. We moved to the 2nd floor and he service was dramatically improved. The food was good, drinks cold. What you'd expect for a tavern. Non touristy - which is nice. Local spot.
I love Tavern29 for both dinner and brunch. They have a great rooftop, although it fills up quickly.
Perfect place to get together with a friend. Kendra is a great bartender/waitress. Service was excellent.
Stephanie was the greatest! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Great food and booze!
Tavern 29 is a great place for a boozy brunch. We got the bottomless Mimosas deal. It was great! The waitress ended up giving us a pitcher of Mimosas since our food was taking a while. Definitely worth it. This is good place for casual brunch and big groups.
Great overall! Got to be rooftop
It is okay, not fancy but only 3 floors and rooftop is more benches and shared table, it is more likely ke tapas than fine dining
Food was delicious, prices reasonable, and service well-run.
The whiskey & cokes I purchased here had barely any alcohol in them, which is a crime considering how much they were.
Brunch on a Saturday for 4 people.
Nice location, good food, though it took an hour to come out. We ordered unlimited drinks which we had to keep requesting refills for and then they still took a long time to get to us even though we were seated next to the bar.
May be we just had a bad experience as it was recommended to me by friends who had a great time there.
I chose this place because it was on the list of best NYC rooftop bars. We came from CT and made a reservation online. Unfortunately, it rained and the rooftop was closed when we got there. Still, we were seated right away in a cozy little booth. Very pretty atmosphere and interesting menu. We have the Barratta, Duck Burger and Beet Salad with Salmon. Delish! The service was great and the food was amazing. Only problem was when it stopped raining we wanted to enjoy our last glass of wine on the roof, but the management wouldn't let us go up there because no staff was up there. It felt weird that we just spent over $130 on lunch and they wouldn't let us enjoy our last glass of wine on the roof even though it was turning into a nice day. Luckily our waitress was sweet enough to get us a drink on the house and resat us in the bar. PS if you go here you absolutely have to get the Parmesan fries. They're the best I ever had!
This was my second time going here with a large group of friends for a birthday. Best to go with a large group on non-typical bar night...like a Tuesday or Wednesday to ensure that you'll get a seat on the roof. It would be better if you could get guaranteed seating on the rooftop with a reservation and a minimum amount of people, but that's not the case. Service could be better. It was a pretty hot day and we got served warm water with no ice on the rooftop. Waitresses just need to be more in tune with customer needs. Overall it's fun with a group or casual date. Good food.
We sat on the roof deck. Waitress was great, but the problem is everything (cocktails, soft drinks and food), comes from the first floor and takes forever. It took over 30mins to get my drink. They need to install a dumbwaiter to help speed up the process and not to have their folks climbing up and down 3+ flights of stairs for everything! Faster food= happier customers+faster seat turnover!
Can't judge too well. After we were sat we waited 10 minutes to be told that they were super busy
