Very surprised to learn that fries were cooked in bacon grease. The restaurant would not use fresh oil to accommodate vegetarians.
Nice environment overall but really cold! Also some of the lighting was too bright. Food was good but my portion of polenta was pretty small for $17.00.
The restaurant menu is limited for dinner. Didn't know it was located at the bottom of the Sheraton Hotel. Breakfast menu looked better, but the food was not.

Tasty meal, satisfactory, but not exceptional. Greek Salad OK, Steak Frites good, but served with waffle fries - unusual. Salmon good, but pricey. Brownie dessert enormous, sweet and delicious. Good coffee. Friendly & conscientious server, especially considering the late hour of our arrival at the restaurant.
this was the only restaurant open for lunch within walking distance of the Seaport Museum where a matinee musical was playing. The lunch menu was very limited.
With nothing the average priced lunch item being $15 or higher, this place is overpriced. None of the menu choices is terribly creative and the service was a bit lacking as well. I was especially disappointed when I ordered a quesadilla to-go as I could not dine in and instead of the typical sides of guacamole, sour cream and salsa, I was given a bottle of ketchup. I didn't discover this until off site so couldn't correct it. As I was at a conference in the hotel, I ended up eating here more than once. The other disappointment was being charged $10 for a "caprese" salad that included about a 1/2 cup of mixed greens, 1/2 tomato and 2 golf-ball sized pieces of mozzarella cheese! It's a good thing I wasn't looking for a full meal, and only something light, but it was a joke to be charged $10 for something so puny. While the food tasted fine, and it was not an unpleasant dining experience, I would not voluntarily choose to eat here in the future.
staff was awesome. they were accomodating-helpful. made my daughters sweet 16 fabulous!

I have to say, when we first arrived at Taste, we had a bad impression. It was freezing cold, there were hardly any other customers and the atmosphere seems a bit sterile. The food and service made up for all of that. They immediately turned down the A/C for me because I was cold and the service was warm and friendly. The barbecue chicken flatbread is a must! All of the food we ordered exceeded our expectations and the bartender made fantastic cocktails. My recommendation: Give Taste a chance.
The service was nice and accomodating. I used open table because I was not familiar with the area, was there for a graduation and they were able to accommodate 15 people with no problem but the menu is very limited and the drinks are expensive.
We all enjoyed our meals, although the menu is very limited. I had the Cobb salad on the recommendation of the server, but it didn't live up to others I've had. My friends all had steak and reported it was delicious, as were the special mashed potatoes, but one complained that the steak wasn't cooked as she had ordered. is okay, it's a nice bar. The wine list was limited, although specialty cocktails were available. Still, I would recommend it if you're
looking for a nice bar in Society Hill. Maybe it would be better to order sandwiches and burgers rather than a full dinner.

We made last minute valentine's reservations and were a little concerned that they still had seating available. It's in the Sheraton and parking is only $7 when you eat at the restaurant, which is a pretty good deal. When we arrived, the restaurant was near empty. A few people sat at the bar and about 4 tables had patrons. We were told we could pick anywhere we wanted to sit.
We started off with Mediterranean Olives with Roasted Almonds ($5) and the Tomato with soft mozzarella appetizer ($9). The olives and almonds were very good but the other dish had just a few thinly sliced wedges of tomato and lots of mixed greens. We also shared the Cobb Salad ($15) - excellent. Cheesesteak was very good but pricey @ $15. Strip steak cooked perfectly.
The food was very good for our dinner. We both had the sirloins steak which was cooked just right. Our appetizer was tasty and our cheesecake for dessert were excellent. The restaurant was rather quiet. We sat at a table near the bar scene in the restaurant. It was not crowed and the service was very attentive. A bit pricey but overall was a very enjoyable dinner.
We also ate there for breakfast the next day. We both had the buffet. It was good but the food was only lukewarm at best. French toast was cold.
The food was good but nothing over the top to make me say wow. It was very dead and that's never a good sign, especially during restaurant week.
I went with a large party of girls for a night out and while the staff was quite friendly and the food was good, there was nothing special about the food to make it worth the price. If I am going to drop $100 pp on dinner then I'm going something amazing and this place was just underwhelming.
The wine was OK but the mark up on a $9 bottle of Beringer is crazy. $50!
It seems as though they want to be a high end restaurant but the food isn't special enough for the price. I can't say I would go back.
It was Restaurant Week, so I understand that its a limited menu but I checked out the regular menu too and wasn't wowed. The place was empty. For the last night of Restaurant Week on a Friday, the place should have been packed.

We saw Taste on the Restaurant Week list and decided to give them a try .... we were REALLY glad we did! The food was very good and the portions were spot on! The staff were very friendly and attentive. I wouldn't hesitate to dine here again in the future. Now that they are on my radar, I will definitely be going back!
I like this restaurant because it is quiet and a good place to go and talk after a movie. Food a varied bar menu. A little pricey but it is a hotel, so expected.
This restaurant is situated inside the sheraton hotel. The restaurant and lobby are beautifully decorated and it has a great atmosphere. There is also plenty of parking along front Street and the other side streets using the meters which makes this possible free and cheap in terms of finding a place and location to park when going out to dinner. The food was very good and we had an array of things on the menu that ranged from small plates to full-sized entrees. I just wish that my cheese fries had more jalapenos on them. The fried raviolis with jalapenos were really good and the jalapenos added just a very little bit of kick to the ravioli but was not overpowering at all. Would definitely recommend this place.
Daughter's 21st birthday we had a very nice dinner and our waitress was the best.

We arrived later than expected so we were not going to have a full dinner. The restaurant was a perfect fit for us. We were able to enjoy a cocktail and have a lite meal.

My husband and I went to dinner for restaurant week. We never thought to dine there previously due to the fact it is a restaurant in the hotel. We were very surprised and will recommend to friends. The service was great- very attentive and accommodating. The decor is very swank and modern. The food was great- especially the salmon! I would definitely consider taste an unknown neighborhood gem.
The place was empty, but the food was great. The service was attentive, and I will definitely be back. The restaurant is not visible from the street, though, making it hard to find. Thank goodness for Restaurant Week!
My husband and I went here for restaurant week and it was fine. For a hotel bar/restaurant it is superb. For a local restaurant/bar if you live down the street, we were not super impressed. I said if I was staying at the hotel from out of town I would have been impressed but as compared to other places within walking distance of our house, it's a little lack luster. The food was basic, tasted good but was nothing special. Service was great and the decor is cool. I could see going back to hang out at the bar for a drink or two but would probably recommend someone else if you are local.
Made a last-minute decision to have dinner here after the 6PM New Years Eve fireworks at Penns Landing. We arrived 25 minutes early, but were seated immediately. Our server was helpful and attentive, although as the restaurant filled up the attentiveness did wane a bit. Food was great, drinks were good and surprisingly reasonably priced given that it was New Years Eve.

We were there for New Years Eve--staying at the hotel, and thought it would be convenient. We only wanted a sandwich--so this worked great. We had soup and a burger. Although the burgers were rarer than we wanted, the food was overall very good. Not sure if the noise level was up because of the holiday or not. Overall was a good experience.
No one greeted us when we walked in. I don't think there was even a hostess working at the time. There was no one eating at any of the tables and maybe 3 people were at the bar. We decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was very nice. However, the staff was on their cell phones and reading magazines while we were there. Food was crazy over-priced and drinks were as well. The food was only decent. I will never go back. Even for a hotel restaurant this was a terrible experience.
They have a limited and pricey menu for the amount of food you get. The food was cold when served. The service was decent and engaging.
Great spot at the Sheraton Society Hill. We ate there two nights in a row. The flatbread is fantastic!
