My husband and I had dinner early on a Saturday night. We were seated in the back near the kitchen. It was kind of loud, so if you want to be able to have a conversation, ask to be seated in the front. We had the chicken and waffle (came with a side salad) and the hot brown (on a small plate, no sides). The food was tasty and served hot. Everything was lovely up to this point.
We split a key lime pie for dessert. I found a long hair (not mine!) in a bite. It was baked in, not on top, I had to pull it out of my mouth - a very unpleasant experience. We were about halfway through - we did not eat any more. We informed our waitress, Rachel, she seemed aghast - but charged us for it anyway. Now I am aghast, and you should be too!
A lot of fun. Different from other restaurants in the area. Friendly staff.
Great food, service etc. The only inconvenient thing was their system went down right in the middle of lunch rush. I don't know if that's something the restaurant has control over of not. SO this was my first time using Open Table and they didn't even have my reservation due to the system being down. I just lucked out on them having a two person table for us available. Despite this, staff was great, food was much faster than I thought (I was sure I'd be back to work late), good quality, etc.
I love the lively atmosphere, yet it is quiet enough for conversation. The food is excellent, and you can never go wrong with the traditional chicken and waffle that comes with a side of delicious, healthy salad. I love the outdoor patio, and also a great place for mid-day coffee break! TOB is one of my favorites for atmosphere, food, and service!
Food wasn't the best. Felt like a few items had a couple dollars rubbed on them. Good service and great location.
Had a very enjoyable lunch with my daughters. We lived in Belgium for 3 years, so it is nice to get a slice of our 2nd home every now and again. The food, service and atmosphere is fantastic!
The food, service, and atmosphere were all great as usual. The fried avocados are a must!
Good! Food is amazing
I went with my French 5 class to celebrate the end of the year and we had a grand time. The students love this place~and so do I!
Personally love the signature chicken waffle dish. But other items are good too.
The chicken and waffle was wonderful! I loved the coating on the chicken and the hot sauce. The waffle was different than what I have ever had, but it was delicious. The side salad was very good also. Can't wait to go again!
My wife liked the chicken and waffles although was surprised how dense they were. I had and really enjoyed the shrimp and grits although the portion was a little small. Hoped that they would have more variety of waffle entrees. None but the chicken was of the savory variety, the rest were sweet - not my thing for dinner. Great beer selection - I enjoyed trying some new Belgians. Went out to TOB for a special occasion, but it was a bit cramped and really loud, so I wouldn't recommend for a romantic date night kind of thing. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu, although maybe on a Sunday when its easier to find a parking spot.
Great food, great service! Looking forward to going back!
Birthday breakfast food was good service was okay. Will
Most likely return in the future
Menu is not up to date- there are no vegetarian options except for salad even though the posted menu says otherwise. I ended up with a side salad and an order of fries and both were pretty disappointing. Not likely to go back.
Great place if you like waffles. A few other items for the non-waffle eaters. Overall a pleasant dining experience
Fantastic food, fantastic location, and fantastic atmosphere. Great staff, very very helpful. Only thing to be aware of is that the prices are all very reasonable so in addition to amicable company from adults, you may be close to some rambunctious rug rats if that's an issue for anyone in your party.
Food good as usual. Dessert cabinet good but wish greater selection.
LOVED the beverage choices! Food was delicious. Loved the mussels and the waffle with chicken was superb. Will absolutely visit again!
Was disappointed. First they had changed the menu 3 weeks previously and it did not have many of the selections that were listed on the website. I had their version of a hot brown but thought the extremely sweet waffle on the bottom ruined the taste. Was surprised that even though there were 3 versions of mussels on the menu, none were the traditional type . We didn't care for the frites either, but it may be because we prefer a thinner cut fry. The noise level was high for the number of diners. Service was great and we got some good advice on beer selection. Wanted to try either a dessert crepe or waffle but was too full and was concerned it might be too sweet after the waffle with the hot brown. I don't think I will return, even for lunch.
Fun girls night out in the back private dining area! Fabulous food! Fantastic service!
Fun... atmosphere and great food! Great for a group!
Saw this restaurant on TV (Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives) and wanted to go. Did not disappoint. The food was just the right portion. Left feeling full but not stuffed. Four of us went and ordered something different and shared tastes of each dish. Food was excellent. Will definitely go here again.
The food was OK- nothing special at all, although we did not choose anything from the waffle list. The big problem was TOO MUCH SALT in everything. The place was very loud and crowded, which is not my taste. We were overcharged for an item, difficult to understand in this day of computerization, and correcting the restaurant's error with the wait staff was difficult.
Met friends for and we were on the cusp of breakfast/lunch; our waitress was attentive, however we felt like she was rushing us. We were there at an off time and there were plenty of other tables available.
I ordered the tuna salad sandwich and it was good, but had too many capers for my taste. I will definitely try something else next time.
Interesting food concept but very good pairings. The waffle was very dense at first but absolutely delicious.
Ask for Cameron, great service and suggestions.
The pea salad is amazing, especially with a piece of their awesome salmon on top! FABULOUS!!!
Excellent food with excellent service
Reservations at restaurants are offered to assist both the customer and the restaurant; and, when the customer arrives 1 hr. late, the test begins. The receptionist at the front desk earned an A+ for her gracious and accommodating manner. Due to the play being 3 1/2 hrs. instead of 2 1/2, we expected to either have a long wait or even be denied service. We arrived; explained why we were late and added we would understand if they could not honor the reservation. She smiled, explained our time had been cancelled and then added: We happen to have a table open and we will be happy to serve you.
Her response went beyond our expectations.
TOB honestly never fails. Next Valentines day do not miss the chance to get a red velvet waffle. It's life changing. Though the waffle and chicken is my go-to, every other dish I have tried has been just as tasty. The salads are also delicious, a nice dinner dish alternative if a waffle is awaiting for dessert.
Chicken and Waffles were amazing!
The meal was delicious and I got it exactly the way I ordered it, even with a couple of substitutions. Our waiter recommended two fabulous beers for us to try. The service we received from him was outstanding.
Our server was very attentive. Food was really good, just small portions
I tried the chicken and waffles that they are famous for but was not impressed. Chicken was dry and drenched in hot sauce. I will not return.
This was my first visit to Taste of Belgium. My friends and I were celebrating Christmas in January.
Our server, Jonathan, was delightful. He was very attentive and made our first visit quite enjoyable and memorable. Loved the décor and didn't feel rushed.
I ordered the Nati, which was tasty. The goetta, grilled onions and peppers were delicious, but the sweet batter of the crepe worked against the other flavors in my opinion.
For dessert, we shared a cinnamon crepe, which was absolutely delicious!
Met up with a friend for dinner. It's a lively atmosphere. The tables are definitely close together but I didn't feel like I was in anyone else's conversation not even the large table behind us. They had ran out of my first choice meal but my second choice was the burger and it was delicious. Service was good and speedy.
We had a fantastic server, an amazing table and a fabulous dinner. We were a group of 7 placed at a square table in an alcove. It was perfect. Our enthusiastic server was terrific!
I took my three year old on a "mom and son" date to the brunch they were serving on Martin Luther King day. He had 2 eggs scrambled and a waffle; I had the brunch burger and a chai latte. The chai latte was hands down the best I've ever had. It was so delicious. The brunch burger is one of a kind and I will definitely be back. Instead of a bun, it is served on their unique waffles - and the combination of savory and sweet leaves nothing to be desired.
The service was outstanding - our waitress was so attentive, friendly, helpful. I was underwhelmed with the waffles. I was expecting the best waffle I'd ever had but they were just ok. And my friends paid $11 for one beer and wasn't expecting it. We weren't told the price when offered the various choices.
