Very pleasant atmosphere however, a little rundown and curtains were not clean. Food was very good however, shrimp and scallops were too salty. My husbands filet mignon was excellent for him. Very tasty desserts-tiramisu and chocolate flourless cake. Seated next to window but could not really see out as there was a bar in front of eye level so had to look under or over and would have been nice to look directly, at the golf course. Would still return. The service was excellent.
Eat here often but tonight was a huge disappointment. Terrible service. Ate outside- not sure if that was the reason? Our waiter left us hanging for a few items. Asked for catsup, cheese, olive oil... waited while food got cold. Asked twice for those items. Then waited for wrapped up food. Restaurant wasn't that busy either?
I ordered the marinated skirt steak, but it seemed more like a strip steak. Skirt steak is usually much more juicy than this was. The meat was tough, unusual for skirt steak. My husband had the lamb and enjoyed it.
I wasn't overwhelmed and wouldn't run back there.
I set up the reservation a few weeks ago for two, I arrived with Three, no problem.
I started with a Caesar salad, it is the only restaurant I visit where I allow them to add the dressing, I am a strict "on the side" diner. Always just right, and seasoned with fresh cracked pepper.
I absolutely love the rack of lamb, it is cooked med/rare, just the way I asked. My wife had the Duck, prepared with a raspberry sauce, excellent cook and hot to the table.
Overall, service is attentive, but never interfering, the drinks are quick to the table, and the atmosphere is calm and never rushed.
We come here for special occasions, but we should come out more often and explore the menu.
I have had the Lamb 5 times, and never a dud!
The staff was kinda rude- from the hostess to our server who wasn't rude as much as he was incredibly apathetic. I got the wrong meal. The meal was not good and much of it tasted like extras from the wedding next door. We had to ask for our bill and nobody seemed to care if we enjoyed our food, which we didn't, or if we needed anything, which we did. Unless you are coming off the course and need a beverage, skip this place
Said I will recommend this restaurant only if you are are happy with just "regular" food. Nothing very bad but nothing special with the way the food was prepared. Only constant comment is that Kitchen has a heavy hand with vinegar with their salads, as this is the third time I noticed it.
The view was outstanding overlooking the 18th hole at Bethpage Black. The weather was great, a perfect summer evening. I enjoyed a very tasty burger. My husband's fish was good but the sides were not hot and limp. His risotto was bland. Overall I would still recommend for a lovely experience.
This was the worst dining experience ever. I would give 0 stars if I could. We waited 1/2 hour before being acknowledged by a waitress. After she took our order, we never saw her again. I had to get up and walk around to find her when I needed something. I would not recommend this restaurant.
We went to Taste 99 for its regular menu but found out upon arriving that on Wednesday it has a bar and drink menu only. Wow! This was excellent, both the food and the atmosphere. My wife and friends all had the lobster roll. Excellent. Very noisy but fun.. Will return for its Wed specials.
I was a little disappointed with our experience. The weather was cool as we set outside; no heat lamps though we could have used them. Food is a buffet and there was plenty of it. For the price I feel the quality could have been better. The lobster was sweet and the cookies were good. Calamari, tiny and chewy. Nothing else memorable. Service was not great. Wait staff didn't check back with us often enough- there were larger tables ordering more drinks. The table was cleared of dishes fairly often. My martini was horrible. I asked for another and it was still horrible. I would expect a good bartender in a place like this. There was a larger sit down dinner party going on. The music was old; not lively.
I've been to this restaurant a few times and have always had a good experience, unfortunately this was not the case last night. The food was mediocre and the service was poor. As this was the first and only bad experience I've had a Taste 99, I will not deter me from eating here again
Needs severe updating. Carpet was filthy and looks like it hadn't been refurbished in many many years. Food was pretty good. Nothing that really stood out as amazing or that would entice me to go back again. Didn't like the fruit flys by the bar taps. Probably means hey need to be cleaned thoroughly. Complete 180 from the catering hall and food which is top notch.
Love the all you can eat lobster buffet on Monday nights. However, was offered coffee with dessert and not told there was a charge for coffee till we saw it on the bill. $2 per cup (served in a paper hot cup) is absurd especially with all you can eat buffet. If restaurant needs to charge, waitress should have informed us before offering it up.
