Tartinery is the modern version of the traditional french bistro. Its concept, inevitably, revolves around the Tartine, which can be described as a classic and gourmet open-faced sandwich served on a razor-thin slice of toasted bread. Our feature bread is the well-renowed Poilane country bread from St Germain-des-Pres in Paris. Among our 17 recipes you will find a tartine you will love at any hour of the day to share or not to share. In addition, we also offer typical salads, seasonal soups (hot & chilled), homemade desserts, freshly squeezed juices and a unique selection of boutique and organic wines by the glass, carafe and bottle. We are a wine bar and “tapas” bar French style by evenings. The entire menu is chalk-written on the wall above the concrete bar. Chalk walls are also found in the restrooms, where customers can leave their own personal messages of appreciation. The industrial decor is a tactful blend of New York classics and european soul.

Tartinery Ratings and Reviews
I had been there one time before for my birthday but could not sit downstairs as they said they did not open the downstairs until after a certain hour. So we only had cocktails and decided to return another time. I made a reservation for my friend’s birthday making sure to make a later one so we could sit downstairs. It’s a great setting and the picture wall would be sure to impress. However when we arrived we were again told we could not sit downstairs because it was a slow night. I understand that they could not seat us due to not having the staff and that’s totally fine. There was just the bartender doubling as waiter and also doing to go orders. I just want to mention it for other’s information.
Which brings me to the food. While it is a good quality and there are some good options two of us were unmoved by the choices and settled for dishes we weren’t crazy about. I am not too picky.I can be one of those “I’m sure I’ll find something on the menu” types. But I ordered the quinoa bowl and there wasn’t too much flavor. It’s a great place for ambience and cocktails. I’m sure I will return but probably for small snack and cocktails only. It’s NY. There’s great food on every street so this will help determine if we stop by when in that neighborhood next time.
One last thing...the gentleman at the bar who was also our waiter was very gracious, gave good service and was super nice about the birthday.
Had my 21st birthday brunch here with a group of close friends & it was perfect! We went at a chill hour so we were able to really enjoy the place. Compliments kept being shared over how great the place, the food & even the music was! Definitely one of the best birthdays I've ever had!
My friends and I had a great lunch at Tartinery. The atmosphere and interiors were lovely, staff was friendly and inviting, and food was tasty too, with many options that sounded good, including lunch specials. A great spot in Soho/Nolita that isn't too big or loud.
We travel to NYC from Boston area often and are always blindly looking for a good restaurant. Took a chance on a GILT coupon and were happy we did. Delicious tartines with lots of fresh ingredients like ricotta and prosciutto, interesting dinner menu (though small), yummy dessert choices. Excellent service and attention. We will definitely recommend this restaurant to family who live there and friends who also like to visit. Looking forward to going back.
We planned a surprise birthday dinner for my boyfriend and knew we'd need a place that could not only accommodate a large group, but was also delicious and easy to order from. The food is, as always, incredible and I love being able to share this place with friends. We had a great time.
I've been here twice and last night was for my boyfriends birthday celebration, before the surprise party I had planned for him at a bar around the corner. The waiters were very accommodating when I said we were in a bit of a rush to get to our "next reservation" as we were only having apps at Tartinery.
We got the burrata with the prosciutto on the side (I don't eat pork), which was divine, and the special chicken salad tartine (good protein), and the asparagus and avocado tartine (AMAZING!!!). The ambiance is cool and a little edgy, but super clean and sleek. It's a cool concept and the food is very yummy.
One of my favorite restaurants, this has been the third time I've been to this restaurant. The brunch was delicious, and the charcuterie board was Instagram worthy. The presentation of the food was great, and of course the food tasted delicious.
I really like the decor, it's very unique and inviting.
I'll be back for another special occasion, thanks!
Tartinery is FANTASTIC. I was not familiar with it until recently, but they are one of my new favorite places in Soho. Excellent location, great drink menu, yummy food, and in an unexpected twist (for NYC, that is), outstanding service. This place is low-key, and nice and quiet, and the service is so good....I challenge anyone to find better in the city. I can't say enough good things about this place. Thank you Tartinery! We will be back.
The lady serving us was very nice and attentive. The kale salad and the quinoa salad were delicious! I also love their cappuccino. The noise level was expected in a bistro so that was fine. Interestingly the table to our right was speaking French and the one to our left was speaking Japanese and my friend and I were conversing in Chinese. Quite a global place! Anyway, I would highly recommend this place for a fun and relaxing get together.
We went during lunch and got the lunch combo. I got the smashed avocado toast and delicious trio juice. Nothing particularly impressive. However, I do recommend the creamy burrata tartine - my mom and I both agreed it was really good! Only thing was I wished the service was a little more attentive to needs, especially since there were only 4 other tables and it wasn't busy. Otherwise, it was perfectly peaceful and quiet place to chat and eat. Also, the interior design is beautiful; sunlight poured in through the glass walls.
On the pricey side but really delicious. The salads were bowl-licking good! And that is saying something for a salad! We sat on the ground floor, rather than downstairs. It was cosy and romantic (despite my being there on a non-date). Definitely worth a visit and would go back.
