El histórico Tartar Frigate es uno de los pocos restaurantes construidos de piedra del siglo XVIII en Kent. Reconocido ampliamente como uno de los mejores restaurantes de mariscos en Kent, el restaurante ubicado en la Harbour Street ofrece vistas panorámicas asombrosas de la bahía Viking en Broadstairs. Our visit was to celebrate our 48 year wedding anniversary. We could not fault the service this was 100%. We were given a table over looking the harbour and seafront. The only fault we can make is the quality of the meat used for the roast dinner. It was a bit chewy we had to leave some on the plate uneaten. The starters and desert , first class, the soup was in my opinion the best I have tasted in a restaurant. If the meat was better quality we would have given 5 stars.

Our waiter was extremely helpful and looked after us very well. Food is always excellent so you do not have to worry.

The staff were fantastic, could not do enough for you. The food was great quailty and came out promptly and very hot. The manageress went the extra mile to make sure we had a perfect Sunday lunch. I would recommend everybody makes time to visit this establishment.

Warm hospitality, family friendly and superb food. Great gluten free options and lots of knowledge about the menu, which made it celiac friendly.

Not our first time and it brightened up our day. The Sunday lunch experience at the Tartar Frigate is something not to be missed on a visit to Broadstairs. The ambience is friendly and inviting. The service is professional. All the staff are pleasant and helpful. The meal is tasty and the proportions are as generous as you want. If you don’t require large portions or there is a course you don’t wish to have you only have to ask.

Our third time at the Tartar and Frigate for Sunday lunch, and again did not disappoint. A great value Sunday menu that I still struggle to complete, but somehow managed. Hope to back next year if not before.

We went on a Saturday evening for a Wedding Anniversary celebration. I had 2 courses from the Specials board - Thai Yellow Clams and Dressed crab to follow. My husband had Whitebait and then a Skate Wing. The food was delicious, lovely and hot, gorgeous chips and well cooked new potatoes and vegetables- not soggy & overcooked! The service was excellent - as usual and all the staff friendly and welcoming.
