TART Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Thanksgiving dinner was all right. Our waitress was the sweetest girl in the world, but failed to bring us our water, even though we requested it. She gave us ZERO refills on our drinks. We spent a while just waiting for service that never came. When it came time to pay, the waitress was nowhere in sight. Eventually, the bartender came over and took the payment, then he disappeared into the corner and started chatting it up with all the girls. Ten minutes later, the waitress came back to apologize and said that the CC verification system was slow. But we should've been told that while waiting. Instead, they just let us sit there. Beautiful place. Great location. Ok food, but disappointing all around.
I had heard great things about TART, when my wife and I went, it was very quiet and peaceful.
not what I was looking for that night, so i was a little disappointed, but overall i like the place, just need more bodies, and busier ambiance. I will come back on a different occasion and see how i feel then.
This was the first time we dined at Tart. The service was wonderful. Our waitress was very pleasant and cheerful. My husband and I both ordered the hamburger. I wanted to substitute the French fries with a small salad or veggies... but Tart does not substitute nor do they have a side of healthy veggies... unless your order their veggie salad for an additional $15. I ended up ordering the fried brussels sprouts $9... it was delicious but not a healthy choice...The hamburger was cooked to order and very tasty. I ordered mine “protein style”. I would go back if they only had a healthy side dish to substitute for the fries.
Tart was the special find of my business trip and I can’t wait to go back for work and pleasure! We went for lunch from a friends recommendation and it was superb. It was hard to decide. Next time I will have to go for dinner and try that out too, but the brunch menu was phenomenal. What a hidden gem!
Not crowded but service painfully slow. If you want to pay $5 extra for toast with your scramble, $5 for 1/4 avocado add-on, or eat outside with flies dive bombing you, this is the place. 3 simple meals, no booze, only water to drink = $76. They don't charge extra for the over ripe marginal fruit they plated for $13. The chicken and waffles was good. Poor value and utter lack of service overcame anything positive about the experience.
Bottom line, the steep prices, poor service and an over abundance of flies leaves a bad taste in one's mouth.
Google what a fly does every time it lands. We have all seen what flies like to land on.
Eating at TART a second time would be re-TART-ed!
Great good! I came for brunch with a friend. I got the American breakfast and she got the scramble (which has a Mexican spin). The bottomless is great - and they have bottomless bloody Mary's!
The only negative was that it was a bit noisy?
Will come back and highly recommend.
I came here for brunch on the weekend... the food was great but they will not do substitutions on any dish. I don't eat meat and all I asked if they can swap out the sausages for avocados or any other side. Nope, no substitutions...ever. In fact they said it would be $5.00 charge for a side of avocado. Really? Not really customer friendly.
TART has been a favorite for me as I meet people prior to engagements in this area of town. It is very hard to find parking off Fairfax Avenue, and TART has a relationship with a nearby garage that validates parking at $6 if you eat at the restaurant. Great deal on parking, good food and good service.
I have eaten at Tart a couple of times now. Given its proximity to the Writer's Guild, it is convenient to meet colleagues here. They validate parking ($6) after the stamp. However, the last time I parked, the attendant told me I would have to pay the daily $20 rate, even with the validation. Not sure I will go back as the $20 for parking on top of the cost of dinner doesn't make it worthwhile.
I would definitely suggest making a reservation. Even though the place was packed for brunch we were seated at our reservation time. The punch bowl drink was very refreshing. The half bowl for 4 of us was about 2-3 drinks per person (depending on how much ice you put in your glass). Basic menu options. Our food came out hot, no complaints there.
We used uber since we knew we were drinking but there is valet parking next door which is great. It's not free but having that option is better than spending hrs looking for a parking spot.
Been here before and was surprised by the limited menu compared to the past - though it was tasty and satisfying; We both enjoyed our meals. Service was fine while at the table, tho not always as attentive as one might have wished when wanting something i.e. their radar was a bit deactivated. Could have been the heat inside which, though we sat in the AC'd indoors seemed challenged despite the day being cooler than those preceding. Still, small complaints as overall it's a great casual spot to meet a friend and visit for a couple hours.
Definitely not the place it used to be. Menu was much more limited -- food was good, but they used to have these amazing biscuits that they've taken off the menu, as well as a few other things. Punch bowl was ok. Tart used to have THE BEST punch bowls (plus now you're only allowed to order 1). Used to be our go to spot every weekend...probably won't go back.
The experience and the food were great! We went on a Sunday for brunch. (with my frat bruhs) It was our first time so initially, we felt bombarded with so many rules. Can't sit here. Large parties can only eat from this menu. Can only do 3 checks. It was a bit off-putting, but our server made things great. Food was excellent. Great environment. We were on the patio so it got a little warm. Overall, great place!
It's frustrating that even if you request to sit outside it's very difficult to get that request honored. I have three times had it happen where I ask when making the reservation to be seated outside, only to be told it's not a possibility and not guaranteed. The saving grace is the allowance of use of the pool at Farmer's Daughter!
