The food was really outstanding. Compliments to the chef. Very flavorful and nicely presented. The music was nice for dinner and relaxing for breakfast. Service was very good. Dining area was peaceful. My wife and I loved the orderve time.
Fantastic experience. Great service, great food, and enjoyable atmosphere. Menu was a bit limited - I would have liked to see a few more options on the menu. I will definitely visit again.
This is our third visit. Every time has exceeded expectations for the quality of the food and the service. I believe the food is as good as any gourmet restaurant around. It is a pricey evening so we don’t do regularly and the location is a bit out of the way. We have recommended to many friends. Definitely a special romantic treat. Sometime we will have to try the spa also.
First trip to Ohio Amish country and a lovely choice for a birthday lunch.
It is so nice to have a restaurant within the Inn at Honey Run.
It is convenient, the food is delicious and the staff is very courteous and friendly...
Wonderful, original meal. Excellent service and beautiful atmosphere. Well worth the drive! We will spend the night next visit!
My husband and I enjoy breakfast dates on Saturdays and wanted more than just a typical pancakes and bacon and eggs breakfast—could do that ourselves at home. We made reservations in case needed them since dinner is usually reservation only and their food is so good. Turns out they aren’t that busy even though their breakfast is so worth coming out on a Saturday to what feels like way out there though it isn’t that far from our home in Wooster. The waitress told us that usually only guests of the hotel come for breakfast so it isn’t very busy. She finds that surprising too since the breakfast is as good as the dinners that keep the place busy at night.
The lamb omelette was delicious but the roasted pork belly with the sour cherry relish was so decadent we have to go back again to split that again plus try something else on their menu to taste what other wonderful foods are on their menu. We shared the honey wheat bread and the fruit plate too—everything was so good.
So wonderful to know that we don’t have to go far to splurge on a breakfast date.
We had dinner & Breakfast at the Tarragon. The service was wonderful. The food fantastic. The atmosphere is relaxing & enjoyable.
The location and ambiance was beautiful. The food is delicious, but not worth the price
So quiet cozy romantic and relaxing. Left very refreshed.
Get the lamb. It’s incredible.
The food is highly over priced. The service is awesome. The food is okay. The decor is outdated.
I’m vegetarian and they catered to me needs without fuss or problems, I really appreciated that. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and welcoming.
The food was amazing, our server Katie was amazing, we could not have asked for a better experience!!
Our second time - this time was for breakfast. The quiche was amazing as were the pancakes. Although it is pricey, the food is so fresh and really worth the splurge. Our service was super as well.
Small resort restaurants are tricky...this one definitely missed the mark. The decor is very generic (think: cookie cutter hotel lobby on a budget). My husband's third course was prepared well (he got the filet), however, his first (clams) and second (citrus salad) were kind of on par with my food: what should have been a well-executed dish was off. Flavors of food are supposed to complement each other, not be so overpowering that the taste doesn't leave your mouth for hours. The curry flavor was good, but the jasmine rice was soggy. Could have had the potential to be great!
The welcome was warm
The wait staff well informed and helpful. The food was well prepared and beautifully presented
All was well worth the visit
Excellent food not only by taste but also by presentation. I gave this 4 stars due to the limited menu.
The cocktails and entrees are excellent especially the commonwealth!
Beautiful evening, great food
Very friendly service. The food was great! Quiet and romantic evening.
Food was very good, but service was kind of slow. The dining room was not busy.
Over the years, we have celebrated wedding anniversaries in part by having a lovely, quiet dinner at Tarragon. This year was no exception. As always, the food was superb, as was the staff. The hosts and servers are highly trained, attentive, kind, friendly, and all-around wonderful. The cocktail and wine menus are limited, but what they offer is very good. (I am a fan of the smoked-vermouth Manhattan.) We had dessert and coffee, but unfortunately had no room this time to top off the meal with their excellent 20-year port afterward. Since discovering Tarragon some years ago, it is always on our must-visit list whenever we are in the area (typically three or four times per year).
Wonderful meal from start to finish!
My wife and I had two wonderful dinners at the restaurant two nights in a row over the weekend on our get-away retreat. The menu was varied and the food was outstanding. We enjoyed the salads, soups, chief special appetizers, main courses of lamb shanks, pork chops and streak prepared perfectly, as well as the wine selections and unique dessert. The atmosphere and décor were quiet and very relaxing. We would like to complement the service and their helpful suggestions. Their manner and pace was a pleasant and comforting change from other restaurants. We are already planning our next get-away later this year.
We dine at Tarragon every two or three months and the food is consistently excellent. The menu is a little more limited than most restaurants, but the appetizers, salads, and entrees always exceed our high expectations. The setting in the woods is very tranquil. They should up light some of the trees so the scenery of the woods can be appreciated at night.
The food here was outstanding. We stayed at the hotel, and were impressed with both the breakfast and dinner! Everything from start to finish, including drinks and dessert were just wonderful. The only thing we were a little disappointed in was the scallop entree, it was a tiny amount of food for the price, 3 small scallops and a tiny side, maybe 3 bites. But the flavor of everything served here was amazing, we would return and definitely skip the scallops.
Good choice of wines and perfect location in Amish country. It used to be a very nice restaurant, both for food and service. However, it has changed. They are always training new waiters and waitresses. One of the senior ones follows them for training, while the other few have to serve most of the other tables. It is not a place to rush, as the ambiance is good, but getting a drink while eating has taken us up to half an hour, both during breakfast and dinner. Apart from the empty glasses, the dinner menu is limited, and there is a lack of vegetarian options, as the only main dish for a long time has been a vegetarian curry. It is not good value, as for $160 for two you would expect better service and more choice. If you stay several night, as we have, you would not want to eat the same every day.
Ambiance was great, people were great
Food is not worth the prices. I have eaten fine dining all over the world, this food is not up to standards and price.
The service was impeccable. The pan seared scallops were done perfectly. Overall the service, food and atmosphere were excellent
The overall experience was great. Sydney our waitress was very accommodating and had a very good understanding of the product knowledge.
Would recommend for a special one-time deal only. The menu selection was very limited. Food was good for the most part, but expensive.
We ate there three nights. We had the lamb shank, scallops, pork chop and chicken. All entrees were superb. Favorites were scallops and lamb shank. The treatments were innovative without being pretentious. The miso soup and frisee salad were excellent accompaniments. Wait staff was friendly and efficient. Wine by the glass was a little pricey compared to the places we usually frequent.
The chef or chefs are tremendous! I’ve been to many fine dining restaurants but this food experience was outstanding!
Great atmosphere, our waitress was very thorough and promt, portion size was a little on the small side but over all it was a great experience
While the quality of the food presented was good, the menu needs some work. All of the appetizers, and the complimentary bite were based on seafood. There was only one entree that was vegetarian. At breakfast, the eggs benedict had no hollandaise sauce. When I asked about this, the server said that she usually mentions that, but . . . . (I got no explanation). I said I'd try it, but she never came back to ask if it was okay. There was only one black tea at breakfast and I later found out that was $5. Not worth it.
Sydney was likely the best and most attentive (but not too attentive) dining attendant we’ve had in a long time! This restaurant experience convinced us to book this hotel the next time we are in town in three months! Great experience!
Possibly the best steak I have ever had! Well with the drive!
Fine dining at a far-away place in the woods. Great service and dinners were top notch quality and presentation
