Tarragon has a great organic vibe but the servings are to small and the prices to high. A different menu with more reasonable prices would be attractive to a broader audience.

Really, really good! Small menu - three choices each in the first three courses. And, a limited main course menu - good for the chef and staff; and less confusing for the guests. It is a gem in the middle of Amish country.

Great place for a quiet birthday! Went mid-week, having no problem to change our reservation time to fit our schedule better once there. They were very accommodating.

First time there in a long time, and both our meals were very delicious and better than we could have hoped for. We ordered an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert to share and all were great and perfectly prepared. We missed out on the nice view of the Autumn scenery because of our reservation time, but another visit of breakfast allowed us to enjoy a great overlook of the woodland landscape that surrounds the hotel.

Off the beaten path and most diners are overnight guests at the Inn. Limited but creative/ high end chef-centric menu. Is expensive because it is a world-class chef operation way out in the middle of Amish country.

We selected the Tarragon for our wedding Anniversary because we were staying at anearby hotel and wanted something special. I requested in advance two things a window seat and two glasses of champagne. Neither request was filled or even acknowledged. The menu was suggested as 5 course dining. We selected three courses, the miso mushroom soup was decent my wife liekd the clams. Fora second coruse we split the goat cheese tart, it was essentail a small puff pastry with globs of goat cheese with a dried out tomatoe on it, it left alot to be desired. Well we thought the main course will make up for everything. My wife selcted the filet mignon and I selected the duet quail. My wifes filet came out and she said oh they got it wrong but ti was the only steak selection on the menu. It was a half inch thick cut of meat and had a bone in it and was fatty, she could only eat half of it and threw the rest away. I received my duet quail and started laughing. I have had bigger chicken wings than this was my fist thought. It was lacking in flavor and could barely be eating after I ahd to rip it apart with my hands. After all this the bill came $146 without tip, I had one IPA $ 8.00 and my wife had two glasses of chardonnay $20.00. We tipped the waitress she could tell we were not pelased but it was not her fault. Needless to say it was very disappointing. We ended up grabbing a couple beverages in Millersburg and ended up eating chips watching a movie. Tarragon needs to adjust there menue and pricing. I don't mind spending the $$$$ as long as the quality is there. Tarragon and it's chef really miss the oppurtunity with travels looking for a nice sit down meal.

Disppointed,

MCC

Food was excellent and worth the extra money spent. Wait time in between courses was too long. 2 and a half hours for dinner is too long. Service was great and very friendly.

I enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner at Tarragon. It was a beautiful setting and quite, I assume because it was a weekday. Each meal was delicious, creative and presented with care. The service was attentive and very pleasant. I would recommend the restaurant for a special occasion. It is worth the ride into the woods!

Probably the best meal we've had out. The chef was very creative in all the 4 courses we had. My husband and I split the 4 courses and we both really enjoyed the experience. Well done!

My fiance and I had lunch at Tarragon on Sunday to check the food out while visiting the Inn at Honey Run as a wedding venue. The food was spectacular! It is inside the Inn, but easy to find. Our waiter, Brandon, seated us in a corner with large windows, so we were able to watch the wildlife in the trees. It was rather empty, so it was a nice, romantic meal. We were thoroughly impressed with the menu--and although I cant speak for the cocktails (no alcohol service on Sunday) the prices were reasonable for the quality.
We look forward to coming again, and having our wedding catered from them!

Wife and I celebrated anniversary at the Inn and enjoyed dinner at Tarragon. Both of us selected seafood for both appetizer and main course - always 'iffy' in Ohio - but relied on our server's honest (and correct) assessment. Littleneck clams were delicious - but we wish there were more in the appetizer version. The halibut was presented over sweet corn - which paired quite well with a healthy portion of quality fish. Bibb salad also was a hit- fresh, great combination of flavors, and dressing just right.
We each enjoyed a cocktail and our own bottles of wine (red and white) - for the bargain seekers they do have $25 bottles which are quite satisfactory.
Service was attentive and pleasant and timely. Overall, a really nice experience - albeit pricey.

One other positive - oftentimes you feel 'bloated' or overdone after a multi-course meal with drinks and wine. Not here - we think the quality of food is excellent - and our bodies appreciate that!

Stayed at the Inn for a quick getaway and had an absolutely lovely meal at Tarragon. We happened to be there a Sunday to Monday and they do not serve any alcohol on Sunday's which was a bit of a pity. Would have loved to pair their wonderful food with an equally wonderful wine. Would absolutely return!

We have celebrated our wedding anniversary here for 8 years and we come away wowed each year!
I am a gluten free vegan and they accommodated me without a blink. Attendant was John and he was excellent as they all are. Try the four courses.. you won't be disappointed. We walked the Open Air Art Museum trail after dinner and got to the top just as the sun started its descent.
Love

One of the best meals I've had in a long time. The chef's honeycomb was outstanding, the risotto and creamed corn out of this world. Our server, Erin, was very professional, kind, and prompt. My husband's steak, although ordered medium, came out rare... they immediately took it back and brought us a fresh plate.

The food was excellent and the staff was friendly and courteous. However, we were sat at our table for longer than 20 minutes before we were approached by our server for drink orders. We also placed our dinner order at the time. It was over an hour before our appetizer was brought out and then 25 minutes after finishing our appetizers, our next course was served. The food was delicious and the ambiance was wonderful. However, sitting at a table for 90 minutes before receiving any food or an explaination, was a disappointing way to spend my anniversary.

This place is a hidden gem. We also stayed at one of the cabins and will definitely make a return trip. The grounds are beautiful and the cabins are private and have every amenity you could ask for. The food was amazing. The entire dining experience went well past our expectations, from the phenomenal menu selection to the personal, friendly, and knowledgeable wait staff.

The inn is a beautiful place and so is the restaurant, the meals are well thought out.
Unfortunately the steak my wife ordered was mostly gristle and when pointed out to the server it was like oh o.k what a shame.
A little bit more attention to the fact that you
Are paying $40 for sub standard food would of been appreciated , not even an apology.
Spoiled an otherwise beautiful evening.

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at the Inn at Honey Run. There were four of us and we had a beautiful table in the corner with an amazing view of the trees and wildlife outside. My friends ordered the leek soup, mushroom soup, and the bibb lettuce salad. I ordered the four cheese quiche. I probably would try something other than the quiche if I were returning but they loved their soup and salad. Our waiter was a young man in training, and he did an amazing job. We will most definitely return!

The best that Holmes County has to offer isn't worth the trip from anywhere else. We've enjoyed lunch at Tarragon for about 25 years (maybe 75 visits) traveling from Northeast Ohio but no more. The inn and restaurant have gone through three owners in that time and the current owner certainly has made it better. That said, the lunch menu is very limited and in the three visits we've made this year has never changed. My wife's quiche was offered as "served with seasonal fruit" which was: one strawberry nicely sliced, three blackberries and about six very thin and attractive slices of apple. Our disappointment began when told that the wonderful patio was no longer available for dining--the sole purpose of our trip. This place features gourmet dining at big city prices--hardly worth the three hour round-trip from Cleveland. There's a nice view of the forest out the windows. If you're looking for a drive in the country and very nice dining room and patio dining, choose instead The Pine Tree Barn in nearby Wooster, Ohio. The Pine Tree Barn offers only lunch but it's always good and always well priced.
